OK, so it only had about 4,500 hits when I found it, but you'll make it 5,001. I know you will.
Of course, this is theoretically possible; the signal moving out from Earth at 1 lightyear per year (sort of by definition), so that by 2265-2269 AD, the date span of the original Star Trek, it would be found on a spherical region some 252-276 light years away from Earth. Easily within the USS Enterprise's range. I guess.
