Expectedly, Fall continues to fall. Last night, I had to get up to add a blanket to the bed, and this morning the thermometer claimed it was 51 F outside. On the bright side, the day was sunny and the wind was down when I went to beach to meet Joel and Red. I wore a long sleeve shirt, but wouldn't have needed to.
Things were pretty quiet. Not much Eagle or Osprey activity, but we did see at least a couple of each. Mostly today, I hunted butterflies. This Monarch was out puddling. Is it on the way south by now? One would hope so,
This Great Spangled Fritillary showed up in the kudzu...
And then moved out to the beach.
And a troop of Variegated Fritillaries occupied the sand dunes near the parking long
