Joel and Red are back from the Great Northern Waste (Bar Harbor, Maine). It was a little bitter-sweet, as Skye wasn't there to greet them (and reject Joel's treats). We caught up to the extent we needed to; Joel mostly knows what's going on here from the blog, and I've followed him on Facebook.
It was a lovely, breezy day; not much good for butterflies, but excellent for the birds.
An Osprey, who dived just a hundred yards of so from us, and, uncharacteristically, failed to get a fish
A juvenile Bald Eagle, who may not know how to bully an Osprey into dropping it's lunch.
