Georgia and I met Joel and Red down at the beach for the customary walk this morning. The wind is up since yesterday from the north, and the waves show it. We had a substantial cool down over night; this morning our thermometer showed 59. Fall is coming.
Red behaving like a lab.
There was lots of flying activity. This is another juvenile Bald Eagle from the one we saw yesterday, with a more irregular pattern. He's probably at least a year younger.
And the adults were out as well.
There's was a good article in the Bay news today about how the Chesapeake Bay Eagles are doing so well they're running out of living space, fighting with each other and starting to eat significant amounts of other birds. Just like in the good old days...
Something else flying. I don't know what this was all about, but this Navy helicopter did a relatively low and slow circle over us twice.
While not flying here, this Summer Azure gave me a decent shot at his top surface. That's rare in my experience.
Georgia declined to make a second pass down the beach, but she posed for a picture for facebook while waiting.
