We have two big new developments in Russiagate to report today, first, as is being reported all over the conservative side of the news, Tucker Carlson, and the Daily Caller report that Tony Podesta, John Podesta's brother, is being offered immunity by the Mueller team against charges of acting as an agent of the Ukrainian government (back when it was a Russian puppet) in exchange for his testimony against Paul Manafort, his partner in the effort. In the past we have seen how Tony and his cronies rushed to register as agents of a foreign government after Manafort was charged. Nothing like doing the paperwork a little late.
Special counsel Robert Mueller has offered Clinton-connected superlobbyist Tony Podesta immunity in order to testify against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“Tonight we can report exclusively based on two separate sources we spoke to today that Tony Podesta has been offered immunity by Robert Mueller to testify against Paul Manafort,” reported Carlson.
The Daily Caller News Foundation has not independently confirmed the report.
Podesta, whose brother is Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, worked with Manafort’s consulting firm in 2012 on a project to help a Ukrainian non-profit group that supported then-Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych.
. . .
Carlson asserted that Podesta receiving immunity from Mueller reveals an anti-Trump double standard in the special counsel’s probe.
“In other words, for a near identical crime, Bill and Hillary’s friend could skate and emerge completely unscathed while Paul Manafort may rot in jail,” Carlson said.
“Only one of them made the mistake of chairing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”

Daniel Chaitin at the WaEx: Robert Mueller offers Tony Podesta immunity to testify against Paul Manafort, reported that the special counsel's office declined to comment.
Mueller is offering immunity to five potential witnesses in the upcoming trial of Manafort. Mueller's team is asking for "use immunity," which is a limited type of immunity, according to court documents filed Tuesday with the Eastern District of Virginia. The five people have not been charged or identified publicly with the case, prosecutors for Mueller’s team said, and they asked that the five motions remained sealed "unless and until the named individuals testify in the upcoming trial" set for July 25.Ed Morrissey at Hot Air: Tucker Carlson: Mueller’s Giving Immunity To Tony Podesta
It’s entirely possible that Mueller could have offered Podesta immunity in order to nail Manafort. Prosecutors make those kinds of deals all the time. However, one cannot ignore the politics of this investigation, either. If Mueller’s cutting deals to let Clintonistas off the hook in order to get to Trump — the clear intent of prosecuting Manafort and Rick Gates — then Trump’s supporters will have a field day with this immunity offer. Mueller has to know this too, and so perhaps it could mean that there’s really nothing coming down the pike for Trump and other campaign figures.Via Wombat-socho's "In The Mailbox: 07.20.18", Mueller's meddling in the next election
That’s if Carlson got this one right. We’ll see.
"Robert Mueller offers Tony Podesta immunity to testify against Paul Manafort" is the most horrifying story of the day, Mueller, a bully with a badge, is now judge, jury, and executioner of presidential politics. The other "new" story is about Karen McDougal, the playmate that allegedly had an affair with the Donald, and Michael Cohen, who apparently taped a conversation between himself and Trump, in which they discussed paying her blackmail (which was ultimately never done). AP: Trump was taped talking of paying for Playboy model’s story
No one is willing to stop Mueller from once again abusing his power to harass an innocent man. As special counsel, Mueller represents everything that is corrupt about our judiciary system.
Our system calls for an investigation, an indictment, a trial by a jury of one's peers, and then if the defendant is found guilty, jail.
In the case of Manafort, the judicial system has allowed Mueller to indict, jail, and investigate with no trial scheduled. Mueller also gave protection from criminal prosecution to Podesta without any oversight at all.
President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer secretly recorded Trump discussing a potential payment for a former Playboy model’s account of having an affair with him, people familiar with an investigation into the attorney said on Friday.
The recording by attorney Michael Cohen adds to questions about whether Trump tried to quash damaging stories in the run-up to his 2016 election. Trump’s campaign had said it knew nothing about any payment to ex-centerfold Karen McDougal. It could also further entangle the president in a criminal investigation that for months has targeted Cohen, his onetime lawyer and close ally.
Current Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani said the payment was never made and the brief recording shows Trump did nothing wrong. So he's supposed to be in trouble for something he didn't do? Even if it was legal? They are, of course, going to try to litigate the payoff to Stormy Daniels as an illegal campaign contribution, which was lost in the John Edwards prosecution, but a payoff that was never made? The story of course, is that the stories on the tapes are leaking? But from who, Mueller and team, Cohen and team, or Trump and team? I tend to rule out Mueller, only because that would be the excuse Trump needs to shut him down. Cohen as an attempt at blackmail, or Team Trump as a vaccination against Cohen and Mueller? It is, of course, very suspicious for a lawyer to record a clients phone call, but chances of Cohen surviving all this with his license intact are small anyway. But note that Cohen has not (yet) been charged with a crime.
“The transaction that Michael is talking about on the tape never took place, but what’s important is: If it did take place, the president said it has to be done correctly and it has to be done by check” to keep a proper record of it, Giuliani said.

Kristin Davis, the Manhattan Madam who went to prison and was connected to former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, is being subpoenaed in the Robert Mueller investigation ... TMZ has learned.Stone has effectively admitted to a single email exchange with Guccifer 2.0, who Mueller has alleged to be a group of GRU hackers, and indicted. My guess is that Mueller is trying to find leverage on Stone. Continuing the theme, Jawa Report has a Sandcrawler Public Service: Just To Get Strozk's Effing Creepy Face Off The Top of the Page, some classic Kate Upton.
Davis worked for former Trump aide Roger Stone for a decade, and had numerous interactions with Stone and Andrew Miller -- who ran Davis' campaign for Governor and who was subpoenaed by Mueller a month ago.
Sources familiar with the matter tell us, Davis' lawyer is negotiating the scope of the subpoena with Mueller's team.
As you know, Stone was referenced in the indictments last week of 12 Russians who allegedly meddled in the 2016 election.

Clapper added that “if it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today — notably, special counsel Mueller’s investigation.Which was to lay low during the election, and then blame the Russians for helping Trump win?
“President Obama is responsible for that, and it was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place. I think that’s an important point when it comes to critiquing President Obama.”

Therefore the ‘Deep State’ must DO SOMETHING!
