A gorgeous spring day, cloudless, 60 F and with light winds. And there were a fair amount of people on the beach taking advantage of it, too.An ordinary Carcharhinus tooth as found, partially hidden behind a shell fragment. Although I found 15 teeth, this may have been the biggest.
A hatchling Common Snapping Turtle on the beach. I don't know if the hatch on the beach, or whether they're getting swept into the bay down the streams, but we find a few like this in spring.
Another weird spring phenomenon is masses of Ladybugs washed up, or congregating on debris near the beach. I suspect they emerge from hibernation, fly, and get swept down to the beach. This was a fairly light infestation.
