Another wonderful day in Southern Maryland. A brief front last night lowered the temps into the mid 70s (it made it to 80 this afternoon), with some light puffy clouds and 10 knot NE breeze.
A good day for blow boating
Eagle watching. . .
Butterfly photography (this is a bedraggled Eastern Tailed Blue).
A Clouded Sulphur . . .
A male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail . . .
And a first for the year, a Red Spotted Purple (I think that's stupid name). The only one of the "black and blue" butterflies that imitate the poisonous Pipevine Swallowtail that is not in the Swallowtail family. Truly one of our most stunning butterflies.
The under wings are equally distinctive.
A Morning Glory growing in the vegetation on the cliffs.
And other scenery.
