The Magothy Got Big Balls

100 Cement Oyster Reef Ball Planted in the Magothy River

Two years of perserverance pays off for Magothy River volunteers. After a long wait for permits, concrete reef balls built by high schoolers are are now sitting at the bottom of the river. They’ll be home to oysters and other Bay life. It’s a victory for the groups who put in plenty of their own time and effort to help the Magothy. Cheryl Costello was on the water for their big moment. The Magothy is one of a few places in the northern half of Chesapeake Bay that I've never visited. North of Annapolis, and south of Baltimore, I do know a few people who fish there
