Election 2020 and RIP Rush

Election news is relatively light, it seems the death of Rush Limbaugh has taken the wind out of conservative sails for a bit. So, before going on, a word about Rush. I was not a fan of Rush, but then, I was not not a fan either, IYKWIMAITTYD.  My conversion from a snot-nosed liberal kid to a snot-nosed conservative adult came well before Rush became the voice of conservatism. I was never one to listen to talk radio regardless of who was speaking; I'd much rather listen to music. However, my dad, a musician, who paved the way to my conversion to conservatism with his eternal subscription to National Review, did listen to Rush when driving distances in the car. My kids still resent it. There's no doubt of Rush's importance to the conservative movement; it just wasn't a significant part of my personal journey.

Now, onto the election noise. Stu Cvrk at Red State thinks Mitch Miscalculated Bigly in his attack on Trump. I think so, too, but in the long run, I don't think it's that important. Outside the beltway and whatever the hell state he's from, Mitch is of little consequence to Republican voters. His words will not detract significantly from the pull of Trumpism on the voters. Trump said his poll numbers have improved following his latest impeachment.

"I'm the only guy who gets impeached and my numbers go up," Trump joked.

"Burn this mother down," he encouraged his fellow rioters, and then talked a cop into letting them into the Capitol. Which is supposedly the greatest crime of the past two centuries. Worse than the Holocaust, really.

He was a professional coaching raw amateurs about how to riot. He was an architect of "the terror" Jake Tapper and the slightly-less-partisan AOC say happened that day.

And CNN, and MSNBC, paid him a lot of money for that terror. They are terror-financiers.

Maybe some drone strikes are needed?

It makes sense that the Trump 2020 app wasn’t being tended to. The question is whether there will be a Trump 2024 app.
