Flotsam and Jetsam - Can Joe Win by 4.4 Percent?

Mary Chastian at LI is outraged by a Report that Biden Apologized to Muslim-American Leaders for Questioning Death Tolls Given by Hamas. “I’m sorry. I’m disappointed in myself. I will do better.” Matt Vespa at TownHall points out the Family of the First American Released By Hamas Bought Hunter Biden's Art. A really odd coincidence, or proof the fix was in? Remember, they slaughtered her parents in front of her. From PJM Rabbi Michael Barclay says Biden's Foreign Incompetency Is a Jimmy Carter Replay. Worse. Bruce Bawer at Front Page excoriates Antony Blinken, Iranian Tool "Is there a U.S. enemy that the Biden administration doesn't take orders from?"

At RedState Mike Miller cites Dr. Jackson, 'Happening Quickly': Former White House Doctor Goes Bottom Line About Biden's Deteriorating Mental State. Duane Patterson at Hat Hair VIP, Joe Biden's Only A Pawn In the Game Of Life. Ryan King at NYPo, Trump says he’s not ‘impaired’ after seemingly confusing Obama and Biden at campaign stops. Maybe he's just color-blind.

From the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 11.27.23 Jordan Boyd at Da Fed says The White House’s Black Friday Spin Can’t Blind Voters To Our Bad Economy. Capt. Ed comments "The bill is coming due, both literally and figuratively. And it will come due at the worst time for Biden — early in an election year. That’s one reason why Democrats want to frame 2024 as a referendum on Trump rather than Biden." And at The Federalist, House Republicans: Force Joe Biden To Explain Why Israel And Ukraine Are More Important Than America, Ace notes a Poll: Voters See The American Dream Dying Under Biden. "The American Dream is dying faster than Biden's frontal cortex. "Nate Silver advances The McDonald's theory of why everyone thinks the economy sucks. "Americans are spending as much of their paychecks as ever on fast food — and everything else." Chris Roach at Am Great asks Who You Gonna Believe: Your Wallet or Your Lying Eyes? Miguel Cardona Thinks Reagan Said, ‘We’re From the Government. We’re Here to Help!’ "Can we *please* destroy the department of education?"

Am Spec's JT Young thinks For Victory in 2024, Biden Must Win by 4.4 Percent "Democrats fear that Biden's poll numbers are even worse than they appear." From Breitbart, Report: Young Americans Sour on Joe Biden, Threatening Reelection Chances. It doesn't mean many will vote for Trump, but they may sit it out, or go third party. At Althouse, "Could President Biden and Donald J. Trump really be locked in a close race among young voters — a group Democrats typically carry by double digits...?" Asks Nate Cohn (at the NYT). Paul Ingrassia at Am Great claims that By Debating Newsom, Ron DeSantis Proves He Is a Subversive Force on MAGA "If DeSantis were truly America First he'd be registering voters in Georgia." Ed  "I’ve only been active on Instagram recently and don’t see a lot of weird content in the Reels, but I do find myself popular with accounts of barely-dressed women for some reason. I think it’s my scalp that turns them on. More seriously, it’s pretty clear that while Meta bars porn on its platforms, porn producers and honeypot scammers are very active on Instagram. This doesn’t surprise me, but it’s not clear what Meta will be able to do to tame it."

At Hat Hair Beege Welborn wants to tell you About That Manhattan Bridge Hamas Supporters Shut Down Yesterday. From NYPo, Two women arrested in NYC attack on Jewish victim who confronted them for tearing down hostage posters: cops. Madeleine Hubbard at JTN reports New York City Mayor Adams slams 'vile show of antisemitism' at Queens high school. "One student was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment for allegedly making threats over a group chat." Capt. Ed says "Kudos to Adams for speaking out about this. I’m not sure that the NYC public schools are “better than this,” though. Or for that matter, most public schools these days. We already know that Academia isn’t." At Campus Reform, As Dept. of Ed launches investigation into Cornell, still no word on consequences for prof 'exhilarated' by Hamas terrorism. From the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 11.27.23  Louder With Crowder hears Susan Sarandon's son wants you to stop sharing this video of his mom with her boobs out in support of her anti-Israel remarks. I hadn't seen this before, but here it is:
At YaHoo! Suspect charged over shooting of Palestinian students in US "Vermont state attorney Sarah George said there was not yet sufficient evidence to support a hate crime enhancement of the charges against the suspect, identified as Jason Eaton, 48. But "I do want to be clear," George told reporters in Burlington, the northeastern US city where the shooting occurred. "There is no question this was a hateful act."

Flotsam and Jetsam - A Light Smattering

A little light today, probably a result of a four day holiday. Still working, Paul Bedard at WaEx observes the Trump lead grows as 84% say Bidenomics hurting them. A word of warning here though, inflation is slowly going down, and political memories tend to be short; people will slowly grow to accept the enormous price hikes of the first Biden years. You probably can't count on that as your primary issue. FX Hedge, Powell Says the Quiet Part Out Loud "The Fed Is Making It Up on the Fly." But isn't that what we all do as adults? It doesn't come with an instruction manual, and economics isn't physics.  From Fox, GREG GUTFELD rants Western civilization is on the brink of collapse under Biden's divided nation

Here's the sports analogy: The U.S. is like a football team up by 35 points in the second half, and they start putting in scrubs and playing that damn prevent defense and suddenly, they're losing. Our elites don't have to worry about enough food or a warm bed, as they've replaced patriotism with a punitive ideology directed inward. We have a generation that sees everything through the lens of power, and it's infecting everything. Each relationship is now seen through the filter of the oppressed versus the oppressor. And you know which side they put you on.

-At Althouse, "He is up to his wattle in criminal indictments, and even if none land him in prison, the grinding stress and his advanced age look to be taking a toll on his mental acuity," writes Michelle Cottle, in "Why the Next Seven Weeks Are So Critical in the Race for President" (NYT):

Are Trump's rants increasingly disjointed? I had not noticed, and I am able to help thinking "Something ain’t right." For one thing, I don't use "ain't," especially in my thoughts. For another, I think the question about his "disjointed rants" has always only been do you want a President who speaks in that style? Can you understand him? To my ear, it's conversational, and I enjoy the lively spontaneity. It doesn't feel like mental derangement to me. It feels like a strength. Other politicians don't speak like that because they're more scripted and risk averse.

Jonathan Turley is disturbed when Roger Stone and Others Come for Casey DeSantis and Her Children "Mike Crispi posted a statement objecting to the following: “Casey Desantis campaigning: ‘I have a 6, 5 and a 3 year old’ ‘I have a 6, 5 and a 3 year old’ ‘I have a 6, 5 and a 3 year old’ ‘I have a 6, 5 and a 3 year old’ ‘Did you know I have a 6, 5 and a 3 year old?’” Stone then reportedly responded “SeeUNextTuesday,”using the common slang for the vulgar word (it is meant as a type of acronym beginning C-U). Stone has denied that he used the slur." Well, at least it was a little subtle. Political wives need thick skins. I don't see this as an attack on the children, just an attack on the overuse of children by the DeSantises. But Stone is kind of scummy. Beege Welborn at Hat Hair comments "The man is a pig. and this was one of the scummiest moves by one of the scummier Trump surrogates so far, and that’s saying a LOT. This isn’t winning any converts there, geniuses, and could well be turning off fence sitters. Is it so hard to be civilized? That campaign needs to wrangle these mouths and duck tape them shut along with taping their nasty little fingers together."

At Behind the Black, Did the Capitol police instigate violence by firing on peaceful January 6th demonstrators?

The video at the second link above ties together police bodycam footage with surveillance footage and smart phone footage — all time-stamped — and shows the Capitol security police firing on the demonstrators, who until that moment were doing nothing wrong and were simply standing in front of the Capitol in a crowd, chanting “USA! USA!”

Furthermore, the firing began at about 1:07 pm, eight minutes before Trump had finished giving his speech blocks away. The audience to his speech didn’t begin arriving at the Capitol until more than an hour later, when they found doors to the building open and security police welcoming them in. Thus, the violence, set off by the police, had nothing to do with anything Trump said.

It is quite possible that the officers in charge had panicked. They were undermanned (by order of Speaker Nancy Pelosi), and faced a large crowd of people with emotions running high. It is also possible they acted under orders to fire, working in tandem with the large cadre of undercover police agents (also revealed by this new footage) who were acting to spur the demonstrators toward violence, so as to create the impression of a violent “insurrection” that could be used by the Democrats subsequently for political purposes.

Ben Bartee at PJM wants you to WATCH: Nancy Pelosi’s Daughter Caught on Hidden Camera Admitting January 6 Was a Hoax.

At Althouse again, "The world is in a permacrisis currently with the COVID-19 aftermath, the war in Ukraine, climate change issues, political instability, the energy crisis in Europe, recession and the cost-of-living crisis." "That's a quote that appeared in the Millennium Post Newspaper (Nexis) on 18 December 18, 2022 and that is one of 3 quotes the OED chose to exemplify the word "permacrisis," which, it announces today, it has just added to its dictionary. . . .  I think of "permacrisis" as as a political strategy to make people feel that we are always in special dire circumstances, justifying unusual emergency measures, and warranting the sacrifice of our personal pleasure and freedom. I can't help thinking: "Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.""

NYPo reports on a Pro-Israel teacher who hides in Queens high school as ‘radicalized’ students riot: ‘They want her fired’. Nick Arama at Red State finds it Frightening: Students Rampage Thru High School to Hunt Down Teacher for Going to Pro-Israel Rally. Althouse  "Hundreds of 'radicalized' kids rampaged through the halls of a Queens high school this week for nearly two hours after they discovered a teacher had attended a pro-Israel rally..." They need to find some ringleaders and put them in jail. Campus Reform wonders Will the med school prof who helped remove posters of kidnapped Israelis be held to UPenn's nondiscrimination policy? "Canary Mission shared footage of UPenn Assistant Professor Mohammed Alghamdi wielding scissors as students took down images of Israelis who have been kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. Alghamdi is still listed as a professor on the university web page." As Insty notes MEANWHILE THEY’RE TRYING TO FIRE AMY WAX FOR INSENSITIVITY.

At RedState  Teri Christoph claims Woke Christmas Tree Farm in Virginia Posts Shameful Antisemitic Message on Welcome Sign, "Ceasefire now." Sorry, I don't see it as antisemitic, just mililtarily a very bad idea to impose on the Israelis. Insty at his NYPo gig, In red America, standing up for Israel isn’t controversial. Arnold Kling at In My Tribe wonders Is the Overton Window Moving to the Right? "It seems ok to criticize the social justice movement; will it become ok to criticize Islam?" "The Overton Window has clearly moved for many American Jews. The Ivy League is now disgraced. Imagine if on college campuses there were students marching around in Ku Klux Klan hoods shouting racist slogans. And imagine they were doing this right after the death of George Floyd. That is what the pro-Hamas demonstrations feel like to Jewish students."

Smitty at The Other McCain says The Swampeoisie are the Colonial Occupiers.
So, if Michael Hayden is equating armed, religiously faithful Americans with Hamas, does that mean that Hayden and the Swampeoisie are the Colonial Occupiers? While I reject General Hayden in general (heh) and his cheap smear in particular, if he’s stipulating a false equivalence between patriots and terrorists, at some point, it could become needful to move the accusation a bit closer to reality.

Just because we lack even the tiniest interest in fomenting violence does not mean that violence mirrors that disinterest in us. Peace sells, but who’s buying? The well-prepared purchase that peace. I wonder if Hayden has the self-awareness to grasp that he and the Swampeoisie are the baddies?

MSN,  Employers Are Fed Up With College ‘Waste’ — Here’s Who They’re Hiring Instead  "The study, involving 70,000 small businesses, revealed that 67% of employers believe higher education institutions are not graduating students with relevant skills needed in today’s business community." At Twitchy, 'Constitution Says No.' The Left is FURIOUS Conservatives Are Suing to Stop Racial Discrimination. Americans know the inflation octopus was willfully birthed. They are confused only whether Team Biden unleashed it out of incompetence - or a neo-socialist idea of eroding the value of money for those who had it while gifting cash to those who didn't.

I let the "culture war" bin slide yesterday, so it's double stuffed today. Of note, Morgan Fox at PJ media sees Ron DeSantis Makes Teen Rebellion Great Again, by telling a crowd of student to take off their masks if they want.

"You do not have to wear those masks. Please take them off. Honestly, it's not doing anything. We've gotta stop with this Covid theater. So if you wanna wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous."

Liberals were outraged. Jordan Boyd at Da Fed details Corrupt Media Hysterical Again After DeSantis Undermines The Left’s Covid Hierarchy. Elections - Somethings Old, Somethings New

Somethings "borrowed" and somethings blue. So, has anything exciting happened in the news while I was off in California mourning the loss of my brother? Just kidding, I got the news; I just didn't react to it so much. Anyway, this is a hodge podge of new stuff, and stuff that caught my eye over the last few days.

Ryan Grim at the Intercept has a grim warning for Democrats, It’s Not Just White People: Democrats Are Losing Normal Voters of All Races. What happens when your party caters to the abnormals? Politico whines that Trump poll tests his 2024 comeback map, "The former president is targeting five swing states that are pivotal to his hopes of winning back the White House."

Trump’s shadow campaign also recently polled Trump-Biden matchups in the five states, all of which were decided in 2020 by fewer than 3 percentage points. According to the poll, a memo of which was obtained by POLITICO, the former president led Biden in Arizona by 8 percentage points, Georgia by 3 points, Michigan by 12 points, Pennsylvania by 6 points and Wisconsin by 10 points.
From the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 11.22.21, Tristan Justice at Da Fed thinks it's amusing that SNL portrays Liz Cheney As The Rachel Dolezal Of The Republican Party

WaPoo has an article on redistricting, focusing, as usual, on Republicans trying to take advantage of their electoral advantage in many states, Competitive House districts are getting wiped off the map, but as Chris Queen at PJ Media notes, Democrats Only Hate Gerrymandering When the GOP Does It. A reminder, Democrat politicians in MD have every intention of Gerrymandering the congressional delegation to remove the only Republican seat. Da Hill, Maryland Democrats target lone Republican in redistricting scheme. No taxation without representation!

They also claim he "obstructed" the functioning of Congress -- a charge that has never before been laid against any protester disrupting a congressional vote or hearing.

And he "obstructed" Congress for like, what, an hour and a half?

Non-violently, of course.

Though they're apparently charging him with... other people's violence.

Because he made himself "emblematic" of the whole event, by being a striking, photogenic person that the media loved putting on the front page.

While most antifa who attacked people at the RNC weren't even charged, and those who were charged were sentenced to time served.

He's been rotting in solitary confinement for 10 months. And now he'll spend 31 months more in jail.

For... "parading in a public place."

The stalwart Julie Kelly at Am Great, Select Committee Covering Up Police Brutality on January 6, and possibly cover up the death of Rosanne Boyland by beating.

In April, the D.C. Medical Examiner’s office claimed Boyland died of “accidental acute amphetamine intoxication.” Boyland reportedly used Adderall, a drug commonly used to treat attention deficit disorders that contains amphetamines. Fatal Adderall overdoses are rare; Boyland would have had to ingest roughly 25 times her standard dose to die from it.

Aside from the unlikelihood Boyland overdosed on her daily medicine while actively participating in a day-long political rally, recently released footage and firsthand accounts contradict the coroner’s report. “There are still many questions about exactly what happened to her,” Rosanne’s aunt, Cheryl Boyland, wrote in a GiveSendGo post.
Videos show her being beaten by a female officer after being crushed by protesters pushed by police. Yet the D.C. Medical Examiner said Rosanne’s body showed no signs of trauma, and attributed her death to the prescription medication she took every day for years. According to videos and statements, Rosanne was dragged unconscious through the west tunnel by the police at 4:31 PM. Then she was taken to the crypt and to the House Majority Leader’s office before EMTs arrived at 5:45 PM, finding her inside the rotunda being given CPR by Capitol police.

WaPoo,  Roger Stone and Alex Jones subpoenaed by House committee investigating Jan. 6 attack. Just walk in, say you're innocent and take the 5th, like Lois Lerner.

Ace responds to reports that Steve Hayes and Jonah Goldberg quit Fox News over his Jan. 6 documentary, The Grifter Bros.

So their contracts were up for renewal in 2022 and they hadn't been renewed yet.

And then, based on "principle," Hayes and Goldberg said they didn't want to sign the contracts not offered to them anyway.

Okay.  Okay. I don't really trust Fox's word but I also don't believe a single word that comes out of these liars' mouths.

I bet you they'll continue appearing on the conspiracy-promoting, riot-inciting, racebaitings-for-ratings CNN and MSNBC, right?

Election: A Hodge Podge of Links

A bit of the Youngkin/McAuliffe race to whet the appetite. From NYPo, Salena Zito says Virginia election proves voters are sick of hearing about Donald Trump

McAuliffe’s strategy of focusing on COVID, Trump, Trump and Trump was wildly out of touch. He and his fellow Democrats missed the most fundamental thing about human behavior, which is that people always vote looking forward. What matters is their lives, their children’s lives, their grandchildren’s lives and their community — not what happened yesterday.

Monica Cline at Town Hall, Families Were the Reason Virginia Turned Red, Hence, the Democrat war on the family. AllahPundit at Haut Hair has the sads as Suburban moms in Virginia tell CNN why they flipped from Biden to Youngkin

As grim as this clip is for Democrats, it might reassure them to learn that all of these women were single-issue voters last week. If Dems can pivot on that issue — school closures — then in theory these votes are back in play.

But I don't trust CNN to assemble a representative panel.

Bernard Goldberg on Da Hill calls Winsome Sears The latest Black conservative to make liberals nervous. I would point out that she has nothing to do with education.

WaPoo, Virginia Gov.-elect Youngkin’s underaged son tried to vote in Tuesday’s election, elections officials said, but admitted he didn't vote, and no crime was committed. Well, they admire kids who get active in politics, right?  This all prompted Dick Hall-Sizemore at Bacon's Rebellion to write Election Integrity? Not a Problem Now. We Won.

On the other hand, NYT (cited at Haut Hair) whines that Republicans, basking in victories, diverge on what comes next. At Fox, Dan Bongino provides roadmap for Republican candidates in Democrat-leaning states

Step one: Run up the score in rural counties. Listen, if you live in a rural county, they don’t respect you, the left. They call you the smelly Walmart people. You’ve seen it. But you’re the real Americans putting food on the table – the farmers, the truckers. It’s you.
…
Second, stay laser-focused on local issues, in swing counties. … While Youngkin was laser-focused on local issues that mattered, like education, mattered to real people on the ground, [Terry] McAuliffe was focused on what? He was focused on Mar-a-Lago or something.
…
Third, you have to highlight the Democrats' failures and minimize the damage in urban areas, many that lean Democrat. … Folks, it matters. We’ve got to win. The strategy is crystal clear.

And lastly, when your enemy is destroying itself, please, please don’t get in the way.

Run everywhere . . . Focus on real life . . . The 30/70 Imperative
Republicans must spend no more than 30 percent of their time discrediting and repudiating Big Government Socialism. At least 70 percent of their time must be spent advocating positive solutions – in terms people understand – that will improve Americans’ lives and their family’s lives.

Be not afraid . . . They are still wrong about Donald Trump

Benjamin Yount at JTN reports Wisconsin election commissioners to respond to stinging audit in December, "Commission chairman vows to correct “some misconceptions and misunderstandings” in recent audit." Din't do nuffin'!

The audit found 30 areas of concern for the WEC, and made 18 suggestions for lawmakers to pursue in the future.

The audit pointed to new voter registrations that didn’t match Wisconsin’s driver license information, old and out-of-date voter roll audits, and thousands of voters who were registered at least twice in the state.

Wolfe said commissioners will decide which issue they want to take-on first.

“We plan to present our analysis to Commissioners at their Dec. 1 meeting in order for them to decide which of the report’s recommendations we should address, which ones should take priority and which ones deserve an official correction,” Wolfe said.

The audit prompted dozens of Republican lawmakers to call for Wolfe to resign.

The Election Post - Virginia Postmortem Continues

A few reactions to Glenn Younkin, Winsome Sear and Jason Miyares sweeping to the top jobs in Virginia. Democrats took it about as well as you might expect. Stacy McCain has a media roundup, ‘These Republicans Are Dangerous’ and Other Stupid Media Election Reactions

It’s official — everybody is now Hitler, or at least the 1.7 million or so Virginians who voted for Glenn Youngkin are “white supremacists,” according to the trauma-induced reactions of the liberal media, who responded to Tuesday’s results with predictable insanity.

John Sexton at Haut Hair examines competing theories on Who won the Latino vote in Virginia? "So the bad news is that we don’t really know for certain right now how Youngkin did with Latinos in Virginia. A paragraph or two of caution from OregonMuse's The Morning Rant at Ace's:
I'm glad that Glenn Youngkin won, primarily because just about anyone would be better than that loathsome reptile Terry McAuliffe. But who is Glenn Youngkin, really? Is he more like Ron DeSantis or Mitt Romney? We don't know, but I suspect the latter. We'll need to how he actually governs, actions speak louder than words and all, but given his background in business and finance, I think he's probably one of those moderate, Chamber-of-Commerce type Republicans. You know, the kind the establishment/Deep State just loves, so he's probably not going to be rocking any boats.

But, with much of Virginia being a bedroom community for Washington DC, he's probably the best we can do there. A competent manager is a reasonable hope. Just don't expect any Reagan revolutions or tea parties to erupt.

But here’s something that I can add: Don’t think electing a governor (or even a conservative state legislature) is going to solve the problem of critical race theory being taught at the K-12 level. The Virginia legislature would be spinning its wheels to pass a statute that says “Don’t teach CRT.” It might as well pass a statute that says “Don’t teach stupid stuff.” Nobody agrees on what constitutes CRT. And we are dealing in part with ideologues who don’t want to agree. They want to teach what they want to teach, and they’ll find a way to say that their chosen curriculum isn’t CRT, no matter how CRT is defined.

Following an impromptu inspection of the D.C. jail, a federal judge has ordered the release of January 6 defendant, Christopher Worrell, over the mistreatment of detainees.

The surprise inspection of the jail by U.S. Marshals took place last month, but the report from the inspection was not made public until Wednesday.

Due to the findings, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth said he has “‘zero confidence that the D.C. jail’ will provide the treatment correctly and not retaliate against Worrell,” who has cancer, CNN reported Wednesday.

Lamberth called the jail conditions “deplorable” and “beyond belief,” ordering Worrell transferred immediately to another jail and then released home to start cancer treatment, the report outlined.

Some 400 prisoners are being moved out of the jail after the “deplorable” conditions were uncovered. According to CNN, the Marshals’ report found that water was being shutoff in many cells “for punitive reasons” for days at a time, toilets were clogged, and an inmate who had been pepper-sprayed was “unable to wash the spray off for days, leading to an infection.”

The D.C. Department of Corrections staff were “antagonizing detainees” and “directing detainees to not cooperate with” U.S. Marshals during the inspection, the agency said, and “[o]ne DOC staffer was observed telling a detainee to ‘stop snitching.’”

ATexas-based real estate agent who said she would "definitely not" go to jail for her actions in the Capitol riots because she is white and blonde has hit back at people mocking her after she was handed a 60-day prison term.

Jenna Ryan, 50, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper after she pleaded guilty to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol.

Ryan, who flew in a private jet to attend the January 6 protests in Washington D.C., has become notorious for her social media posts and comments about the riots.

Her rea crime? Althouse,  Federal judge, sentencing a woman to jail, takes her to task for believing in Critical Race Theory.

I'm reading "She said she wasn’t going to jail for Jan. 6, citing ‘blonde hair white skin.’ A judge sentenced her to 60 days behind bars" (WaPo).
“For better or worse, you’ve become one of the faces of January 6,” U.S. District Judge Christopher R. Cooper of D.C. told Jenna Ryan, 50.... “You suggested antifa was somehow involved. And perhaps most famously, you said that because you had blonde hair and white skin, you wouldn’t be going to jail.”

He was referring to a tweet Ryan posted in March saying, “Sorry I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I’m not going to jail. . . . I did nothing wrong.”
But I'm going to stick with Critical Race Theory. Ryan made her belief in white privilege so overt that it threatened white privilege. Attacking her openly stated expectation helps maintain the privilege.

Complicating the analysis: The judge is black.

 from the comments.

So just to be Clear.... the black judge SENT her to jail... BECAUSE she was white? AND! there's NO SUCH THING as critical race theory???? got it!

Across da pond Da Mail reports Trump CANNOT claim executive privilege to stop the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riots from getting more than 770 files from his administration, federal judge says

  • Trump cannot claim executive privilege to prevent the House Select Committee from accessing documents related to January 6, a federal judge said Thursday
  • The former president sued the National Archives on October 15 to prevent it from giving the House committee 770 sensitive files
  • District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan said he doesn't have the authority to do that
  • She said Thursday, 'There is only one executive,' referring to President Joe Biden
  • She also cracked down on the committee's request for being overly vague in their requests for information
