Flotsam and Jetsam - All Platner All the Time

It seems. Jim Geraghty at NRO says The Nazi Tattoo Guy Is Exactly Who You Thought He Was. Batya Ungar Sargon thinks The Nazi Tattoo Should Have Been Enough. Charles C. W. Cooke @charlescwcooke, "It’s quite funny that the case for Platner, up until about 15 hours ago, was, “well, yes, he has a Nazi tattoo and a history of saying terrible things and treats women abominably, but on the other hand he’s a communist.”" Ace, Breaking: Graham Platner Covered Up His Death Head Tattoo With a Rape Head Tattoo, "Okay that's probably not true but it caught your attention and Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson have taught me that's all that matters. Here's some catch-up on the Nazi Rapist." As I've said before, the tattoo doesn't bother me that much. Young soldiers do stupid things. What bothers me is a nepo baby turning communist. At NYPo, Graham Platner’s ex-girlfriend alleges Maine Dem would sneakily pull off condoms during sex. Hat Hair's Dave Strom, Who Could Have Guessed That Graham Platner Was a Bad Guy? At PJM Steven Kruiser thinks Der Platnerfürher Might Finally Be Too Creepy for the Dems. But maybe not. Ace, LOL: Narcissist Psychopath Graham Platner Is Refusing to Drop Out of Race Unless He, the Nazi Rapist, Gets to Pick His Successor "Who wouldn't want to be known as the candidate hand-picked by the Nazi Rapist Stalker?" Hat Hair's Capt. Ed asks Say, What Happens If Platner ... Stays? "If he holds on, however, Democrats will be stuck with him after next week. Given how negative partisanship works, the left-wing tilt of the state, and the control of the Senate at stake, it’s easy to see Democratic voters talking themselves into the idea that they have to suck it up and support Platner." At Politico, Bernie Sanders says he told Graham Platner to ‘step aside.’ At Althouse, "You said: He's your kind of man." Resist the Mainstream @ResisttheMS, "CNBC host calls out Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Host: "You campaigned with Graham Platner… you said, 'He's your kind of man.' … This is a guy who had a chest tattoo with a N*zi symbol… It's a guy that reportedly wrote 'people concerned about r*pe should take some responsibility for themselves and not get so f*cked up that they end up having s*x with someone they don't mean to.' … I'm just curious why you think he's your kind of man?" Warren: "He has apologized… I'm there to stand with him and to help in that fight."" Jimmy Failla @jimmyfailla, "Elizabeth Warren wants to retract her endorsement of Graham Platner but she doesn’t want to look like an Indian giver." Katie Pavlich @KatiePavlich, "Chris Murphy is one of the worst and he’s running for president in 2028," Quote Bad Hombre @Badhombre, "JUST IN: Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy has scrubbed his X account of all mentions of Graham Platner in hopes no one will remember he was a diehard early supporter. Legal Phil @Legal_Fil, "Not only will they pretend that they never supported Platner, they’ll demand credit for his being forced to drop out. And they’ll hold up Platner’s dropping out as an example of what makes their side morally better than the side that didn’t nominate a woman-abusing Nazi." Quote Erick Erickson @EWErickson "I've seen this movie before. The Nazi drops out after everyone has admitted he's a Nazi and the people who supported the Nazi pretend they never supported him." Mary Katharine Ham @mkhammer, "Former Gov. Ralph Northam was appointed to a college board by Gov. Abigail Spanberger this year after refusing to resign in 2019 in the face of party-wide demands in the wake of a blackface/Klan hood picture scandal and another admitted blackface incident. Everyone just shut up and he served a full term. ... So, maybe Ds in Maine can find someone besides Platner who doesn't have a racist pic or tattoo and/or violent history with women, but their record thus far not great, and the Virginia Dems don't offer a template for that. Quote Sunny @sunnyright, "If Platner refuses to drop out, Democrats are suddenly going to go quiet with the demands for him to go and will start re-embracing him and re-funding him as "well whatever it takes to beat Susan Collins". He almost certainly knows that."

At Twitchy, Ditching Democracy: Scott Jennings Reminds CNN Hosts Dems Picking Power Over People to Replace Platner, Totally Hitlarious: Chris Murphy Worries About Dem Party’s Credibility If Platner Isn’t Properly Replaced and Politico Correspondent Clarifies How Graham Platner Is Not ‘DSA-Backed.’ Hat Hair VIP's John Sexton sees Dems Propose a Platner Replacement...Wait, Never Mind. Wesley Yang @wesyang, "So yeah, about that DSA-endorsed candidate that folx want to replace Platner: "As Maine Senate President in a state senate caucus meeting several years ago, Troy Jackson in a heated disagreement struck a female colleague with a bottle he threw at her." Biff LaTourette @BiffLaTourette, "Democrats and their media cohorts have relied for decades on this tried and true technique since Hillary's laughable keep lying/stonewall strategy failed in the wake of l'affaire Lewinsky. They created a slogan that spawned a PAC, http://MoveOn.org. Both remain everyday tools of the Party's preference to pound the prevarications, however ineffective, until they must beg to "move on," with lame mea culpas.

PJM's Matt Margolis sees The Left Has a New Narrative About Graham Platner, and Scott Jennings Just Nuked It. "On CNN's Anderson Cooper 360°, Alyssa Farah Griffin claimed that "Democrats did not do their due diligence in vetting this man and now their path to the Senate looks significantly bleaker because they went all-in on this one." Seriously?" Scott Jennings @ScottJenningsKY, "Democrats fully vetted Graham Platner, happily signed off on his incredibly disturbing history to win a Senate seat, and are only pretending to be shocked now because they can no longer rationalize the hypocrisy." From Ace, The New York Times Knew All About Graham Platner's Rape Allegation But Deliberately Buried It. Update: North American Man-Boy Lincoln Association Grifter Rick Wilson Weighs In. Sunny @sunnyright, "MSNOW is attacking a media outlet for publishing corroborated rape allegations because it’s hurting a Democrat with a Nazi tattoo who has previously been accused of hurting women." Quote Tom Elliott @tomselliott "Morning Joe spends 5 minutes grilling Politico’s @adamwren for running a story on Platner’s ex accusing him of rape. “Given the very high standards Politico has before they write something like this and publish it, what aspects of this story brought it to the level of publishable?”" Matt Vespa, An MS Now Host Did Not Just Say *That* About the Rape Allegation Against Platner "What is the actual – is there evidence between her and him, evidence of a crime?" Hat Hair's Dave Strom sees More Narrative™ Shaping by The New York Times. John Ondrasik @johnondrasik, "The reason the @nytimes can practice gross journalist malpractice, like they did to Lyndsey, is because they know there will be no consequences, from their company, from their media peers, and from their subscribers. In fact, protecting Democrats is how you climb the ladder." Quote Lyndsey Fifield @lyndseyfifield "I actually understand why Democrat leaders didn't take our stories seriously when the Times reported them in June but are taking them seriously now. It was by design." Neeraja Deshpande @neerajadeshp, "Here's @jodikantor, one of the NYT journos who broke the Weinstein story, naturally, an avid early proponent of MeToo, even had a movie made about her and Megan Twohey breaking the story—here she is writing off @lyndseyfifield for essentially partisan reasons. How's this aged?" Quote Curtis Houck @CurtisHouck, "WATCH: New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor – who wrote many of the #MeToo stories – DEFENDS Graham Platner and DISMISSES the allegations against him by @LyndseyFifield and other ex-girlfriends because they were not “abuse” and women saying they just “did not like what” they saw." From Althouse, "While I’m assigning blame, I shouldn’t leave out myself. Last October, when stories about Platner’s tattoo and Reddit posts first broke...", ""... I went to Maine to write about him. I tried to convey what I saw: a campaign that was electrifying angry Maine voters. But I deeply regret that, impressed by Platner’s political charisma, I wrote that he was 'nothing like the edgelord caricature I encountered online.' If anything, he seems to be significantly worse...." Writes Michelle Goldberg, in "Lessons From the Graham Platner Disaster." Sensurround @ShamashAran, "I have now read this highlighted sentence seventeen times because I assumed I wan't actually reading what was written. Surely my eyes didn't actually read this. Maybe someone accidentally pasted in dialogue from "The Onion." back when it was funny. But no. She is saying that she delayed reporting a rape because she agreed with the accused, politically. This is one of those moments where, if your IQ is over 85, your brain quietly excuses itself from the room..."

Mark Hemingway @Heminator, "What Republican has faced credible rape allegations? Because it’s not Trump or Kavanaugh." Quote Jill Filipovic @JillFilipovic, "The one good thing I can say about this entire Platner shitshow is that most Democrats are calling for him to drop out, which is not how Republicans have acted when their favored candidates have faced credible rape allegations. The parties are still different: Democrats see credible rape allegations as disqualifying; Republicans continue to have a nearly unlimited tolerance for abusing women. Call them "Dem HR lady politics" if you want, but I'm actually glad we haven't fully rejected them." PoIiMath @politicalmath, "Here are things that the Platner story has that the Kavanaugh allegations did not have: 1) proof of contact between the accuser and the accused 2) documented allegations from the accuser naming the accused to others *before* the accused rose to the national stage 3) multiple accusers with documented proof of contact and long-standing recognition of abuse Liberals who are saying "this is just like Kavanaugh" are just reminding everyone of how flimsy the Kavanaugh accusations were …" quote Sarcastic Cupcake @SarcasticCupcak, "Hilarious to see right wingers try to pump up this story that reads like Kavanaugh allegations." Ron Coleman @RonColeman, "I don't have the patience or the stomach to line up all the established rapey stuff associated with Democrats and large percentages of people from certain countries, but it is notable how obsessed they are in their messaging with accusing non-rapey people - and canines - with rape despite the lack of what earthlings regard as evidence and at a certain point you have to step back and ask yourself who are these people and what are they trying to do to both our society and the people in it?" Jonah Goldberg @JonahDispatch, "LOLOLOLOL. So because we don’t know about hypothetical rapey legislators we should forgive the ones we do know about." Quote Stephen King @StephenKing "Tell you what--if you knew the whole truth about everyone in the Senate and House of Reps, those chambers would be dead empty. Jesus said, "Let him without sin cast the first stone."" Logic is not a thing in horror stories. Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry @pegobry_en, "They told me if I supported Trump we’d end up with neo-Nazi rapists as Senate candidates, and they were right."

Rick Moran at PJM, Platner Is the Democrat Camel Whose Back Couldn't Be Broken, No Matter How Much Straw Was Piled On. Capt. Ed cites Politico: The Biggest Loser in PlatnerGate Is ... Twitchy, The Bulwark's Sarah Longwell Says the Quiet Part Out Loud About Democrats and Graham Platner The Bulwark @BulwarkOnline, "@SarahLongwell25 calls for Graham Platner to drop out: "I want to win. I want Democrats to win the Senate and to win the House…Platner is in an incredibly weak position to do that now, and I think as a moral matter, when someone is accused of rape, that's game over." Jim Geraghty @jimgeraghty, "Going forward, every reference to The Bulwark should state, "The Bulwark, who had a columnist who argued Graham Platner should be the Democratic nominee in 2028..."" Cynical Publius @CynicalPublius, "I hear all the time about how Gen Z is turning socialist because they have no economic hope and how I just don’t understand that we need to do more socialist stuff so they’ll still vote for us. VodkaPundit at PJM hears New Yorkers Are Already Mad at Mamdani, and He's Just Getting Started. Dmitri Bolt at TownHall, Socialists Say Zohran Mamdani Delivered Record-Low Murders in NYC. There's Just One Problem. "People forget that, despite Zohran Mamdani’s generally hostile stance toward law enforcement and his preference for a more social worker-oriented approach to reducing crime, he has spent almost none of his time in office focusing on crime and nearly all of his energy on affordability. As a result, New York City has retained NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who was appointed under Mayor Eric Adams and has presided over steadily declining murder rates since 2023. The city has also maintained its existing policing strategy, which has clearly proven effective." Kevin Downey at PJM says Release the Clowns! Desperate Dems Send in the Odd Squad, Hilarity Ensues.

Beege Welborn at Hat Hair, has Another Sad, Cautionary Tale of Failed Democratic Candidates - Andrew Gillum Ring a Bell? DC_Draino @DC_Draino, "People forget that Gov DeSantis beat this guy in 2018 by less than 0.5%. He would’ve been our Governor during Covid, kept us locked down, and the country would’ve never been the same. The reason he almost won was b/c deep blue Broward County kept “finding” votes weeks after the election. The vote fraud was stopped, DeSantis cleaned up our elections, and he won by almost 20% in 2022. It’s amazing what happens when election fraud is cleaned up." He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for just shy of 45 minutes. He's so sharp. Just like always he let me do all of the talking. He's a great listener. Flotsam and Jetsam - SCOTUS Nixes Racial Gerrymandering

Voting 6-3 along exactly the lines you'd expect, the Supreme Court overturned lower courts who had demanded states set aside certain seats to create safe congressional seats for racial minorities based on the Voting Rights Act. The ruling doesn't forbid gerrymandering on a partisan basis (looking at you Texas, Virginia and California), and puts a large number of seats in red states vulnerable to redistricting favorable to the GOP. As you might imagine, Democrats are throwing a hissy fit. Matt Vespa at TownHall, The Supreme Court Has Ruled on the Voting Rights Act. Matt Margolis at PJM, Supreme Court Drops HUGE Ruling on the Voting Rights Act. "In a 6-3 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, the majority held that Louisiana's congressional map — redrawn to include a second majority-black district — constitutes an unconstitutional racial gerrymander under the Fifteenth Amendment. The Court stopped short of striking down Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act entirely, but it dramatically narrowed the ways in which states may use race when drawing congressional maps." Capt. Ed at Hat Hair, NEW: SCOTUS Narrows Section 2 of Voting Rights Act, Strikes Down Racial Gerrymander. Benny Johnson @bennyjohnson, "MASSIVE WIN: Supreme Court just ruled 6-3 that drawing Congressional districts solely based on race is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Republicans could flip a dozen Democrats seats in the South alone ahead of the midterms." At Althouse, "The justices, split along ideological lines, ruled that the voting map was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander." "In her dissent, Justice Elena Kagan accused the court’s conservative majority of gutting the Voting Rights Act. " From "Live Updates: Supreme Court Strikes Down Louisiana Map in Voting Rights Case" (NYT)."The upshot of Rucho was that, as far as federal law is concerned, a state legislature may use partisan advantage as a factor in redistricting. And litigants cannot circumvent that rule by dressing their political-gerrymandering claims in racial garb.... [T]he Voting Rights Act did not require Louisiana to create an additional majority-minority district, [so] no compelling interest justified the State’s use of race in creating SB8." Sundance at CTH, Supreme Court Rules Racial District Gerrymandering Violates Constitution. Ace gives it the red, all-caps italic, with the flaming skull (more than third attempt at Trump's assassination), IN EPOCHAL RULING, SUPREME COURT HOLDS, 6-3, THAT RACIAL GERRYMANDERS ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL -- MUCH LESS REQUIRED BY THE CONSTITUTION, "I don't know if the southern states affected like this can impose an emergency redistricting double-quick for the midterms, but some analysts believe that this ruling will eventually flip 19 Democrat seats to Republican." Now any random son of a bitch with a WiFi hookup can be a “journalist,” which means that I have to find a way to do something different, something valuable, something that might inspire you to hit the tip jar for $16.04. And it so happens that getting a WiFi hookup is relevant to the real reason I wrote this post:" Roger Simon says 'Sixty Minutes' Needs a Drastic Overhaul, "It's part of the problem, not the solution." Conquest's Law #2 Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing. It just take's right-wing organizations longer. Tom Odell @TomOdell, "CBS moderator Ryan Yamamoto has just lied in the debate. He claimed that Ronald Reagan (as governor of California) was responsible for cuts In social programs that created homelessness in California. That is a categorical lie. The social programs that Mr. Yamamoto is referring to were cuts signed into law by Pat Brown, Jerry Brown's father, who was Governor before Reagan..."

Ilya Shapiro @ishapiro. "Appalling behavior by @UCLA_Law." Quote FIRE @TheFIREorg, "UCLA Law has threatened its @FedSoc chapter with punishment if it publicly identifies students seen on video disrupting last week’s viral campus event with a Department of Homeland Security lawyer. But when protesters named chapter members online? No signs of concern." Campus Reform reports Harvard petition calling grading reform racist disappears from public view. Timur Kuran @timurkuran, "DEI has been counterproductive generally. By forcing people to focus on race, it has unavoidably heightened racism, not dampened it. If DEI were an antidote to racism, there would exist scores of studies providing the evidence. None exists." Quote Caleb Hammer @sircalebhammer, "A Harvard Business Review finding showed that mandatory race training in workplaces produced higher levels of racism in the end, similar to the white bear suppression effect. We were so close to a colorblind society… then all the crazies ruined it with performative politics."

Palm Sunday

 with Hope Beel:

PLANT CITY, Fla. — Higher prices are having a big impact on companies that rely on gas to keep their businesses running, including local farms.

Jorge Guerrero is navigating the cleanup to get his palm trees back to the way they were before the recent cold snap. “It just hurts, you know, losing 80 to 90 percent of the nursery and still having to hustle and strive,” he said.

Jorge’s parents opened G&G Palm Center Nursery in Plant City back in 2007. They grow most of the palm trees themselves, but recently they’ve also had to bring in extra inventory from Miami. Trips that were usually two to three times a month are now two to three times a week, increasing their spending on gas, but that’s not all.

With all the damage from the recent cold snap, it’s meant more work to pick up the damaged palm leaves that’s now increased their tractor usage. “We’re putting diesel in these tractors at least every three days; we’re going through at least 15 gallons a week,” Jorge said.

Thursday Tanlines

Miami Dolphins quarterback Zach Wilson’s wife, Nicolette Wilson, stunned in custom team gear. The gorgeous WAG flaunted her chiseled abs in her Dolphins crop top and showed off her head-to-toe Florida tan in her all-white fit.

“tnf!” was her only caption, most likely referring to Thursday Night Football in her Sunday, November 2 Instagram post. She might have waited a few days to post since her team was defeated at home by the Baltimore Ravens 28-6.

Nicolette’s six-image carousel post also showed her with other Dolphins WAGS, Zach going onto the field, a stunning shot of Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

Zach, 26, and Nicolette got married over the summer after three years together, saying “I do” in a lavish ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. (The quarterback started off his pro career with the New York Jets.) “The Wilsons ♾️ 06.28.25 — the best day of our lives!” read the couple’s joint post on July 6.

A tan in Miami? Whoda thunk!

Palm Sunday

 With Ines Trocchia:

Florida is full of palm trees — they line our beaches, neighborhoods and even parking lots. But in North Fort Myers, one palm picked a very unusual place to put down its roots.

A full palm tree is sprouting straight out of a storm drain in front of the CVS on Hancock Bridge Parkway.

The unusual sight was first brought to WINK News through our WINK Listens event in Cape Coral. A viewer, who wanted to stay off camera, told us about the tree and raised concerns about what it could mean for drainage in the area.

When we looked back at Google Maps imagery from 2022, the drain appeared clear — no greenery. But today, the palm is standing tall out of the concrete.

Lee County tells WINK News the storm drain is on private property, meaning CVS is responsible for its maintenance. CVS tells us they are checking with their landlord about the tree and whose responsible.

We've also reached out to the landlord and state to ask the same question and will update when we get more information.

Labor Day Flotsam and Jetsam - Trump Still Not Dead

I hope you're planning on having a pleasant Labor Day. No labor here, I promise, although at some point we're likely to go the beach to walk and pick up shark's teeth.

The Victory Girls are Mourning For Democrats – Trump Is Alive! From Twitchy, BAHAHA! Welcome to the Find OUT Part! --> Lefty Cries on X After Losing Job for Celebrating Trump's DEATH.

AMAC explains How Trump’s D.C. Crime Crackdown Could Help GOP in Midterms. "The real danger for Democrats, particularly looking ahead to the midterm elections next year, is that the American public now has proof of concept for what Republicans have been saying for years: that the crime, chaos, and general dysfunction in virtually every U.S. city is a choice." Sarah Arnold at TownHall, Chicago Mayor Signs Order to Shield Criminal Illegal Aliens, Undermine Federal Immigration Enforcement. Larry Elder at Hat Hair scolds the Media: Trump 'Bizarrely' Calls President 'Chief Law Enforcement Officer' -- Other Presidents Did, Too

Eric Daugherty @EricLDaugh, "JUST IN: The Washington Post is SIDING with Bill Pulte, exposing Democrat Fed Governor Lisa Cook for mortgage fraud and stating that @Pulte’s documents are CONFIRMED. “Obviously, she could not live in two places at once.” It’s over. The activist judge needs to allow Cook to be fired by President Trump immediately." Quote, Savannah @BasedSavannah, "Also, Reuters has chimed in with the same. Lisa Cook is done." From Fox, Rep. Maxine Waters calls for using the 25th Amendment to find out what’s ‘wrong’ with Donald Trump, "The Democratic congresswoman argued that Trump's removal of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook could 'upend the entire economy.'"

At Da Blaze, It's been a year since Kennedy and Trump joined forces. Here are MAHA's top 3 wins. At Da Wire, RFK Jr Dismisses Gun Control Calls, Will Examine Psych Drugs In Mass Shooting ‘Health Crisis’ "Kennedy said HHS is investigating the mental health effects of psychiatric drugs." I think they're probably looking at it the wrong way, confusing cause and effect. Crazy people take psych drugs, and crazy people are do crazy shit. Sharyl Attkisson @SharylAttkisson, "“Kennedy's reforms aren’t being proposed to disrupt a healthy and effective system that’s served us well; quite the opposite. The context is a sick and broken establishment that demands a fresh approach.”

"Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced this week that the federal government has rescinded $679 million in funding previously allocated to offshore wind projects across the United States. The largest withdrawal affects California’s Humboldt Bay Offshore Wind project, where $427 million in planned funding has been cancelled." Gov. Exec. whines A fresh executive order aims to ban unions at more federal agencies. "A new edict published alongside President Trump’s proclamation celebrating Labor Day seeks to outlaw collective bargaining at more than half a dozen additional agencies under the auspices of “national security.”   . . .  Thursday’s order would ban collective bargaining at the International Trade Administration and the Patent and Trademark Office within the Commerce Department; the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service and the National Weather Service; as well as NASA and the U.S. Agency for Global Media. It states that all these agencies “have as a primary function intelligence, counterintelligence, investigative or national security work.”" From ET, Trump Says He Will Issue Executive Order to Require Voter ID "The midterm elections will be held on Nov. 3, 2026." I expect 'Hawaian' judges to overturn the latter two, forcing the issue to the Supreme Court.

NPR, Middle schoolers are lauded for protecting younger kids during church shooting. In a video Andy Ngo explores Why Are There So Many Trans Mass Shooters Now? Rod Martin, has a Sunday Essay: When Identity Becomes Idolatry - What the Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting Reveals About Our Age, "The massacre at a Catholic school in Minneapolis wasn’t just another tragedy—it was a revelation of where our culture now stands. And the Church is increasingly in the crosshairs." At Alpha News, a Minnesota doctor urges parents—and doctors—to help end so-called gender-affirming care ‘as fast as possible’ "When struggling children are told by doctors that they were born in the wrong body, "that's not only not true—it's malpractice," Dr. Jill Simons explained." MAZE@mazemoore "In 2019 Erin Burnett wanted to make sure that there was no way for Paul Manafort to escape the seriousness of the mortgage fraud charges. In 2025 it's mortgage fraud, really? This is CNN." So, in addition to mortgage fraud, LifeZette reports Letitia James Reportedly Caught Harboring Fugitive in Her ‘Primary Residence’ "The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction has issued an alert for fugitive Nikia Monique Thompson, the niece of New York Attorney General Letitia James’s family. . . Questions have surfaced about whether Thompson is hiding at a property tied to Attorney General James in Norfolk, Virginia." Jack @jackunheard "BREAKING: Letitia James is COOKED. President Trump just posted this accusing her of harboring a fugitive."

Althouse is amused,"The submarine sandwich’s... phallic yet floppy nature can also be seen in this context as a mocking reflection of the administration’s strutting, performative, hollow machismo...."
"'He thought it was funny. Well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today,' declared Ms. Pirro, playing the nation’s sputtering high school vice principal sick of all these disrespectful kids, in a video announcing that Mr. Dunn would be charged with felony assault.... Attorney General Pam Bondi... condemned him as 'an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months.' That seems like a lot of firepower brought to bear on a single sandwich-throwing paralegal...."

Writes Bruce Handy, author of "Hollywood High: A Totally Epic, Way Opinionated History of Teen Movies," in "I’ll Have My Resistance on a Roll. Hold the Mayo" (NYT).

As you may have noticed, the prosecutor failed to get an indictment, disproving at long last "that grand juries aren’t in fact willing to indict ham sandwiches."

As my son pointed out, all they have to do is bury him with misdemeanor charges, which don't go to a grand jury. Sure, the DC jury let's him off eventually, but the process is the punishment.

At Hat Hair, Dave Strom is astonished: Guess What? NYT Says Mamdani Is Not a Socialist!, even though he proudly calls himself a democratic socialist and Betsey McCaughey thinks (hopes?) Mamdani Could Lose Even in Crowded Field.

PJM's Cathy Salgado says Guess What DOGE Found Your Money Is Funding Now! "DOGE normally releases a contracts update on X on Fridays highlighting some of the stupidest agency contracts that it has discovered in the last week, and this past week‘s was a doozy: “Over the last 5 days, agencies terminated 50 wasteful contracts with a ceiling value of $2.9B and savings of $762M, including a $2.4M DoD contract for ‘transgender health medical evaluation unit services’, a $128.5k DoD contract for ‘LGBTQ magazine advertising campaign’, and a $48.7M USAID contract for ‘the Belarus Regional Initiative to provide transition activities in Belarus and other countries in Europe’.”"

Driscoll at Insty, STEPHEN MILLER GIVES MASTER CLASS IN DESTROYING MEDIA ANSWERING QUESTION ABOUT DEPORTING ILLEGAL ‘MD DAD:’ Thomas Sowell Quotes @ThomasSowell "Stephen Miller on Kilmar Garcia saying "he doesn't want to go home to El Salvador": "We're not a travel booking agency.
