Various and Sundry Election Coverage

From the Center Square, Pennsylvania Republicans want to create a new Bureau of Election Audits. Now  Dems oppose agency whose job it is to make sure elections are honest.

City Journal warns Democrats about The Fading Covid Voter "Recent polls show that the pandemic’s effect on elections is declining." Time for the CDC to stoke fear about colds and flu. Oh wait, they already did. Do they have the guts to try to forbid in-person voting in the name of sniffles? I guess that depends on how badly the Democrat is fairing in 2024.

At WaPoo, Perry Bacon opines, Have Democrats reached the limits of White appeasement politics?

The Democratic Party, to its credit, has remained committed to civil rights. It wants to be aligned with people of color. But Democrats also want to win elections in a White-majority country. So, party leaders for decades have informally adopted a strategy of White appeasement — by which I mean they have frequently taken actions, often subtle, to demonstrate to White Americans that they aren’t too tied to civil rights causes and people of color. Sometimes this means Democrats taking a stance on a racial issue to align with views of moderate and conservative White people; other times it is Democrats avoiding a stance on a racial issue for the same reason. The Democrats’ White appeasement is their countermove to the Republicans’ White grievance.

Are there enough new black votes to cover the votes they'll lose by demonizing whites? I don't think so. Hakeem Jefferson at 538 pontificates on  Why White Voters With Racist Views Often Still Support Black Republicans. Does he actually know any, or is just making this shit up as he goes along. Shorter Hakeem from Jim Treacher, Voting for Black People Is Racist If They're Republicans

Back in the old days, the Klan would put on white hoods and burn a cross on a black person’s lawn. In 2021, they put on MAGA hats and show up at the polls to vote for a black person. It’s basically literally the same thing, when you don’t think about it.

AllahPundit at Haut Hair VIP whines about Dem doom: GOP leads by more than 15 points on the economy -- among suburban voters, and as reported by Dan Chaitin at WaEx, 'Massive red wave sweep': Trump envisions 'largest House Republican majority in American history'. I hope so too, but let's not count these chickens just yet. From Breitbart, Howard Stern Says He Would Beat Trump in a 2024 Presidential Race: ‘There’s No Way I’d Lose’. I think he's overestimating the dirty comic demographic.

Regarding Twitter's and Facebook's  censorship of conservative thought, at PJ Media, J Christian Adams says It's Time to Start Taking Names

It isn’t Facebook or the Department of Justice. It’s individual employees making choices about how to use their power.

One of them was Pam Karlan, current principal deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice Department Civil Rights Division. While a tenured law professor, Karlan served on a Facebook goon squad during the 2020 election working on a censorship committee to help divide her fact from her fiction.

Once those on Facebook’s goon squad decided they didn’t like a narrative, it vanished from Facebook or was throttled.

Now, similar “ministries of truth” exist in state election offices across the country, funded by private dollars, and sometimes tax dollars.

Twitter employees elevate you if your politics align with theirs.

AllahPundit, Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt admits That tiki torch stunt in Virginia was “recklessly stupid,” “dishonest,” and “cheap". Twitchy, LET THEM FIGHT: Steve Schmidt BLASTS The Lincoln Project over the tiki torch stunt. Because it didn't work; if it had, he'd think it was brilliant and justified. R. Emmett Tyrrell, editor of Am Spec explains why I Already Miss Terry

I began by saying I am sorry I will not have Terry around for the next four years. I was going to enjoy kicking him around a little bit. I still have not gotten over his boast in his memoirs that we at The American Spectator accused Bill Clinton of ordering the murder of opponents. Terry was rather proud of his mendacious claim, and when I entered into correspondence with him about it, he was very glib. Continuing this correspondence with him while he was governor could have been very diverting. But now I see that even his boon companions are avoiding him. Bill and Hillary Clinton did not show up at his campaign's party on election night, and where else did they have to go? Things are looking bleak for the Democrats, and my guess is they are going to look bleaker next year.

Chris Pandolfo at Da Blaze notices Prosecutors want 'QAnon Shaman' Jacob Chansley sentenced to more than 4 years in prison, essentially for bad taste in clothes. At Am Great, the redoubtable Julie Kelly explores how the ‘Unprecedented’ Capitol Protest Sets New Precedents, "The Constitution, along with every foundational precedent, can be subverted on the premise that January 6 was “unprecedented.” The presumption of innocence has been overturn, and many J6 prisoners are being tortured before trial.

Jonathan Karl: "Were you worried about him during that siege? Were you worried about his safety?"

Trump: "No, I thought he was well-protected, and I had heard that he was in good shape. No. Because I had heard he was in very good shape. But, but, no, I think — "
No, of course he wasn't defending them. He was just saying he thought Pence was safe. Stop putting words into people's mouths!

HE, Trump’s Lawyer Requests Appeals Court Block Release of Jan. 6 Records to House Inquisition WaExAppeals court blocks National Archives from giving Trump records to Capitol riot committee on Friday. At least temporarily. Take it to the Supreme Court. ABC whines that Ex-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows rebuffs Jan. 6 committee pending court ruling. I recommend going to the hearing, and pulling a Lois Lerner, declare your innocence, take the 5th, and refuse to answer any more questions.

Across da pond Da Mail catches onto the fact that White House conspired with National School Boards Association before it sent infamous letter likening parents to domestic terrorists, as does the NYPo, WH ‘actively engaged’ with NSBA before ‘domestic terror’ letter: memo. Tyler O'Neil at a new gig with Fox, NSBA coordinated with White House, DOJ before sending notorious 'domestic terrorists' letter: emails, "NSBA leaders even altered the letter's text to satisfy the Biden White House". The Center Square, 26 state school board associations distance themselves from national group. Now more than half of the 50 states. That can't help their finances. Good.
Also from Da Caller, New Study: Media’s Coverage Of CRT Has Been ‘Misleading,’ ‘Slanted,’ And ‘Dismissive’, but then, that's pretty much their coverage of any controversy unfavorable to Democrats.

Da Caller claims an EXCLUSIVE: FBI Director Told Former Agents The Bureau Will ‘Stay In Its Own Lane’ And Won’t Be Attending School Board Meetings. Good, that raises my opinion of Wray, just a little. 'Adam Mill' at Am Great discourses on Sex, Lies, and the FBI, "If the business of the FBI is to protect the U.S. Constitution, it’s been operating at a loss for some time now." William E. Trachman and Cody Wisniewski at the American mind, A Close Call:  Merrick Garland has shown us why he never belonged on the Supreme Court.
So, no more apologies. The next time that conservatives hear the complaint that Garland was ruthlessly blocked from getting onto the Supreme Court, the correct response is, yes, thank God.

Election - Is You Woke Enough to Vote?

But first, via the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 11.08.21, Margot Cleveland at Da Fed wonders Why Does Michigan Still Have 25,000 Dead People On Its Voter Rolls? Why do some people save  rubber bands? Because they might have a use for them later. At WaEx, Paul Bedard asks No voter fraud? How about 1,334 cases, 1,147 convictions. And as with most crimes, it's fairly safe to assume it occurs 10-1000 times more often than it get prosecuted. That's why crime pays, and people still commit it. Rabbi Fischer at Am Spec thinks Really, the Polls Stole the New Jersey Gubernatorial Election, "Jack Ciattarelli was robbed." Crime in New Jersey? Whoa!!

Politico fears Republican wave builds to take back the House, "A combination of aggressive redistricting, strong fundraising and a favorable political environment has the GOP excited about its prospects in next year's midterms." NYT (cited at Haut Hair) whines why Why Republicans won in a New York county where Democrats outnumber them. “I don’t like the president, and the Democrats are spending too much money on things like infrastructure, when really we need politicians who are going to bring more money back into this country,” Salena Zito at Am Great, Pennsylvania Leapt Further Right on Election Night, "Republicans made gains in Pennsylvania in keeping with trends in Virginia and New Jersey that reflected Democrats' overreach."

Which is a good segue into the "woke" controversy. The other day, James (the snake) Carville took the Democrats to task for being too "woke" for the electorate. This brought a response from AOC. Stacy McCain, AOC Goes to War With James Carville

You wanted more Democratic infighting? You got it:
The open and proud socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared on Sunday that Republicans have been using wokeness as a means to distract Democrats from pursuing racial justice.
In a series of tweets, the congresswoman said that Democrats believing in a “woke problem” will hurt their chances for reelection because they “rely on the racial justice issue of voting rights.”
“One dangerous aspect of thinking there’s a ‘woke problem’ is that Dem chances for re-election or majorities in House, Senate, & WH rely on the racial justice issue of voting rights,” she tweeted. “Dems distancing from racial justice makes protection of voting rights less likely, ensuring losses.”
According to AOC, the term “woke” has been appropriated by Republicans as a “derogatory euphemism for civil rights & justice,” charging that Fox News not only serves to indoctrinate right-wingers but also to trick Democrats into believing that racial justice is “controversial.” . . .

My opinion? The liberal/progressives (whatever their preferred nomenclature is this week) invented the connotation of 'better' and 'more enlightened' for their side, and they resent the hell out of it becoming a slur in the hands of deplorables, much like they have to switch from liberal to progressive and back as the words go in and out of favor. Screw 'em and rub their noses in it.

Just like that, the Republican prospects for 2022 are looking pretty good. The Dems have decided to ignore their 2021 losses and the "Let's go Brandon" chants. Instead, they've doubled down and gotten right back to work pushing their massive spending plans. The American people have spoken, and the Democrats have responded by giving them the finger. Twenty twenty-two is going to be bloodier for the Democrats than an Alec Baldwin dress rehearsal. San Fran Nan and Little Chucky Schumer are looking at that flea-infested bed they've made, and the clock says it's almost time to climb in and cuddle up for the night.

When you tell people that something they see right before them does not exist, you lose their vote. That's what Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe did as he campaigned for governor, and, no surprise, he lost. If Democrats continue on this course in 2022, they'll lose again.

Specifically, McAuliffe said of critical race theory, or CRT, on "Meet the Press," "Let me explain: It's never been taught in Virginia."

That's just not true today, as countless parents attest, and it wasn't true when McAuliffe was Virginia governor in 2015.

Election: A Hodge Podge of Links

A bit of the Youngkin/McAuliffe race to whet the appetite. From NYPo, Salena Zito says Virginia election proves voters are sick of hearing about Donald Trump

McAuliffe’s strategy of focusing on COVID, Trump, Trump and Trump was wildly out of touch. He and his fellow Democrats missed the most fundamental thing about human behavior, which is that people always vote looking forward. What matters is their lives, their children’s lives, their grandchildren’s lives and their community — not what happened yesterday.

Monica Cline at Town Hall, Families Were the Reason Virginia Turned Red, Hence, the Democrat war on the family. AllahPundit at Haut Hair has the sads as Suburban moms in Virginia tell CNN why they flipped from Biden to Youngkin

As grim as this clip is for Democrats, it might reassure them to learn that all of these women were single-issue voters last week. If Dems can pivot on that issue — school closures — then in theory these votes are back in play.

But I don't trust CNN to assemble a representative panel.

Bernard Goldberg on Da Hill calls Winsome Sears The latest Black conservative to make liberals nervous. I would point out that she has nothing to do with education.

WaPoo, Virginia Gov.-elect Youngkin’s underaged son tried to vote in Tuesday’s election, elections officials said, but admitted he didn't vote, and no crime was committed. Well, they admire kids who get active in politics, right?  This all prompted Dick Hall-Sizemore at Bacon's Rebellion to write Election Integrity? Not a Problem Now. We Won.

It's New Jersey; it might happen. And at Da Mail, Gov. Phil Murphy claims Dems 'might've been swept away' if it wasn't for his progressive NJ agenda and says he's 'screaming out' for DC to pass Build Back Better Act after narrow election win over GOP challenger

On the other hand, NYT (cited at Haut Hair) whines that Republicans, basking in victories, diverge on what comes next. At Fox, Dan Bongino provides roadmap for Republican candidates in Democrat-leaning states

Step one: Run up the score in rural counties. Listen, if you live in a rural county, they don’t respect you, the left. They call you the smelly Walmart people. You’ve seen it. But you’re the real Americans putting food on the table – the farmers, the truckers. It’s you.

Second, stay laser-focused on local issues, in swing counties. … While Youngkin was laser-focused on local issues that mattered, like education, mattered to real people on the ground, [Terry] McAuliffe was focused on what? He was focused on Mar-a-Lago or something.

Third, you have to highlight the Democrats' failures and minimize the damage in urban areas, many that lean Democrat. … Folks, it matters. We’ve got to win. The strategy is crystal clear.

And lastly, when your enemy is destroying itself, please, please don’t get in the way.

Benjamin Yount at JTN reports Wisconsin election commissioners to respond to stinging audit in December, "Commission chairman vows to correct “some misconceptions and misunderstandings” in recent audit." Din't do nuffin'!

The audit found 30 areas of concern for the WEC, and made 18 suggestions for lawmakers to pursue in the future.

The audit pointed to new voter registrations that didn’t match Wisconsin’s driver license information, old and out-of-date voter roll audits, and thousands of voters who were registered at least twice in the state.

Wolfe said commissioners will decide which issue they want to take-on first.

“We plan to present our analysis to Commissioners at their Dec. 1 meeting in order for them to decide which of the report’s recommendations we should address, which ones should take priority and which ones deserve an official correction,” Wolfe said.

The Election Post - Virginia Postmortem Continues

A few reactions to Glenn Younkin, Winsome Sear and Jason Miyares sweeping to the top jobs in Virginia. Democrats took it about as well as you might expect. Stacy McCain has a media roundup, ‘These Republicans Are Dangerous’ and Other Stupid Media Election Reactions

It’s official — everybody is now Hitler, or at least the 1.7 million or so Virginians who voted for Glenn Youngkin are “white supremacists,” according to the trauma-induced reactions of the liberal media, who responded to Tuesday’s results with predictable insanity.

John Sexton at Haut Hair examines competing theories on Who won the Latino vote in Virginia? "So the bad news is that we don’t really know for certain right now how Youngkin did with Latinos in Virginia. But again, there is some evidence that Trump’s 2020 improvement with these voters didn’t just evaporate." Also, Glenn Youngkin's top strategists: 'It wasn't just CRT,' it was 'parents matter'

A paragraph or two of caution from OregonMuse's The Morning Rant at Ace's:
I'm glad that Glenn Youngkin won, primarily because just about anyone would be better than that loathsome reptile Terry McAuliffe. But who is Glenn Youngkin, really? Is he more like Ron DeSantis or Mitt Romney? We don't know, but I suspect the latter. We'll need to how he actually governs, actions speak louder than words and all, but given his background in business and finance, I think he's probably one of those moderate, Chamber-of-Commerce type Republicans. You know, the kind the establishment/Deep State just loves, so he's probably not going to be rocking any boats.

But, with much of Virginia being a bedroom community for Washington DC, he's probably the best we can do there. A competent manager is a reasonable hope. Just don't expect any Reagan revolutions or tea parties to erupt.

But here’s something that I can add: Don’t think electing a governor (or even a conservative state legislature) is going to solve the problem of critical race theory being taught at the K-12 level. The Virginia legislature would be spinning its wheels to pass a statute that says “Don’t teach CRT.” It might as well pass a statute that says “Don’t teach stupid stuff.” Nobody agrees on what constitutes CRT. And we are dealing in part with ideologues who don’t want to agree. They want to teach what they want to teach, and they’ll find a way to say that their chosen curriculum isn’t CRT, no matter how CRT is defined.

Following an impromptu inspection of the D.C. jail, a federal judge has ordered the release of January 6 defendant, Christopher Worrell, over the mistreatment of detainees.

The surprise inspection of the jail by U.S. Marshals took place last month, but the report from the inspection was not made public until Wednesday.

Due to the findings, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth said he has “‘zero confidence that the D.C. jail’ will provide the treatment correctly and not retaliate against Worrell,” who has cancer, CNN reported Wednesday.

Lamberth called the jail conditions “deplorable” and “beyond belief,” ordering Worrell transferred immediately to another jail and then released home to start cancer treatment, the report outlined.

Some 400 prisoners are being moved out of the jail after the “deplorable” conditions were uncovered. According to CNN, the Marshals’ report found that water was being shutoff in many cells “for punitive reasons” for days at a time, toilets were clogged, and an inmate who had been pepper-sprayed was “unable to wash the spray off for days, leading to an infection.”

The D.C. Department of Corrections staff were “antagonizing detainees” and “directing detainees to not cooperate with” U.S. Marshals during the inspection, the agency said, and “[o]ne DOC staffer was observed telling a detainee to ‘stop snitching.’”

Jenna Ryan, 50, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper after she pleaded guilty to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol.

Ryan, who flew in a private jet to attend the January 6 protests in Washington D.C., has become notorious for her social media posts and comments about the riots.

Her rea crime? Althouse,  Federal judge, sentencing a woman to jail, takes her to task for believing in Critical Race Theory.

I'm reading "She said she wasn’t going to jail for Jan. 6, citing ‘blonde hair white skin.’ A judge sentenced her to 60 days behind bars" (WaPo).
“For better or worse, you’ve become one of the faces of January 6,” U.S. District Judge Christopher R. Cooper of D.C. told Jenna Ryan, 50.... “You suggested antifa was somehow involved. And perhaps most famously, you said that because you had blonde hair and white skin, you wouldn’t be going to jail.”

He was referring to a tweet Ryan posted in March saying, “Sorry I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I’m not going to jail. . . . I did nothing wrong.”
But I'm going to stick with Critical Race Theory. Ryan made her belief in white privilege so overt that it threatened white privilege. Attacking her openly stated expectation helps maintain the privilege.

Complicating the analysis: The judge is black.

 from the comments.

  • The former president sued the National Archives on October 15 to prevent it from giving the House committee 770 sensitive files
  • District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan said he doesn't have the authority to do that

Election 2021: Youngkin Beats McAuliffe Like a Rented Mule

Jason Miyares, Glenn Youngkin and Winsome Sears
Or like a Red-headed stepchild? But first, as of yesterday afternoon, Stacy McCain was still worried, Virginia: ‘Too Close to Call’? BREAKING UPDATE: Youngkin Wins!.So much for Biden: We're going to win tonight in Virginia (AllahPundit at Haut Hair). I know, that kind of spoils the surprise. WaPoo whines Glenn Youngkin wins Va. governor’s race. "Reeling Democrats see threat to House and Senate control as Republicans crack their 2020 coalition."  PJ Media, Virginia Election Results Are In. Cutie Pavlich at Town Hall, BREAKING: Republicans Sweep Virginia Election; 'It's a Bloodbath'. Ace, in Red Font, Decision Desk, Redistrict Call Virginia for Youngkin and then in red, all caps, italicized, and with a flaming skull eating pudding, YOUNGKIN WINS; LEFT AND NEVERTRUMP (BUT I REPEAT MYSELF) IN FULL FAT EMO SELF-CUTTING MODE. Atop da Hill, Republicans poised to sweep Virginia, stunning Democrats. Center Square, GOP's night? Youngkin wins Virginia governor's race; Ciattarelli, Murphy in virtual tie in NJ "Minneapolis voters overwhelmingly reject effort to defund the police; Shockingly close race for NJ governor." PM, BREAKING: Glenn Youngkin wins governor's race in Virginia. Da Wire, Republican Glenn Youngkin Wins Governor’s Race In Virginia, Experts Project. And Finally, sundance at CTH, Republican Glenn Youngkin WINS in Virginia  - Republican Also Winning in NJ at Midnight, "DC is shook…." Rick Moran at PJ Media, The Morning Briefing: GOP Diversity Ticket Trounces Racist CRT Dems in Virginia, noting that Youngkin appears to have pulled along Black Lt. Governor candidate (Winsome Sears) as well as an Hispanic AG candidate Jason Miyares.

And it wouldn't be an election without some hanky-panky, some attempted voter suppression. Somewhere in the middle of the day, from JTN, Virginia GOP: Voters incorrectly being told at polling locations masks must be worn to vote. Red State, Reports of Virginia Voter Suppression Surface as People Turned Away From Polls Over Not Wearing Masks,   Paula Bolyard at PJ Media, Virginia Voters Denied Entry to Polling Place for Refusing to Mask (But No ID, No Problem).

According to a directive from the DoE, that shouldn’t be happening:
Can we require a voter to wear a mask? No, we are encouraging voters to bring masks if they must show up in-person to vote. However, if someone is not wearing a face covering you may not turn him or her away. You may offer the voter curbside voting or offer them a face covering if you have any extra available. You cannot turn a voter away because they refuse to use a mask.

Ace, in red italics, Democrats Suppressing Republican Vote in Virginia By Illegally Turning Away Voters For Not Wearing Masks

You are not required to wear a mask to vote.

But Democrat polling officials have adopted the tactic of refusing to allow non-masked people to vote, knowing, of course, that all leftwing Karens wear masks, and right-leaning non-Karens tend to not wear masks.

This is illegal, and they're stealing the election right now.

Later, in  Quick Hits: BREAKING: The Youngkin legal team with a victory on the mask issue. They obtained this directive, sent to all election officials. NO ONE can be turned away for not wearing a mask. But we don't know how many votes they succeeded in turning away, do we? Not enough, apparently. There was also an election machine "glitch" in electoral giant Fairfax county, causing a need to rescan the ballots, delaying the reporting, and leading some to worry that they were stalling to figure out how many McAuliffe votes they needed to find. Paula Bolyard again, Welp, We've Already Got Problems in Fairfax County, Virginia. John Sexton at Haut Hair, Youngkin performing well but Fairfax County needs to 'rescan' votes. Maybe Republican poll watchers prevented a bit of foul play here.

Hayden Ludwig at Da Fed worried that Democrats Are Using The Same 2020 Election Shenanigans To Overtake Virginia This Year. The election was beyond the margin of fraud. The night before the election, Media Salivate Over Another Likely Racial Hoax at Glenn Youngkin's Massive Final Rally. AllahPundit wonders Was the guy in the Confederate flag jacket at Youngkin's rally last night a plant? It should be assumed until proven otherwise. Hate is so much in demand, that people have to fill it. Also Allah, McAuliffe's closing message: A blatant lie about Youngkin and Trump. From Cutie Pavlich, McAuliffe Staffers Embarrass Themselves with Failed Attempt to Get Someone Arrested.

And now comes the best part, recriminations! Via the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 11.02.21. JD Davidson at Da Fed, It Doesn’t Matter Who Wins In Virginia, Democrats Have Already Lost. At WaEx, Virginia Republican upset points to a troubling 2022 for Democrats. Matt Yglesias downplays the consequences Virginia’s Election Will Reverberate … in Virginia. But from Bongino on Rumble, VP Harris: "What Happens in Virginia... Will Determine 2022, 2024, and On". From her lips to God's ears. At Politico, Not it: Democrats dodge blame for stalled agenda as McAuliffe teeters, "None wants to be seen as the problem child if the party’s electoral prospects plummet this week. So they're insisting it's time to move ahead." Capt. Ed at Haut Hair, Carville: Blame Beltway Dems if McAuliffe loses today. At WaPoo, Democrats fret about an enthusiasm gap in Virginia’s gubernatorial contest. Fox, McAuliffe’s decision to have Weingarten speak at rally mocked by Republicans, "Virginia gubernatorial race is seen as referendum on Biden presidency." Matt Welch at Reason, Virginia Governor Race Is an Education Policy Wake-Up Call That Democrats (and the Media) Won't Heed, "Calling voters racist is an odd closing argument, let alone an effective response to concerns over schools."

Good Job, Virginia!

Election Day in Virginia!

Due to a plethora of posts, I'm going to restrict this to just direct Virginia Gubernator election material, and first, I'll get these out of the way, two of my main sources of links, the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 11.01.21 and JJ Sefton's The Morning Report - 11/2/21 at Ace's. Maybe I'll get around to the other election stuff later...Maybe.

Da Wire claims to know Everything You Need To Know About The Virginia Gubernatorial ElectionThe Biggest Race Of The Year. Seems a little skimpy to me. Capt. Ed at Haut Hair, CBS: Don't look now, but Youngkin has VA polling lead, and from NR, Sabato’s Crystal Ball Shifts Virginia Gubernatorial Race to ‘Leans Republican’, but Sister Toldja at Red State notices Larry Sabato Disgraces Himself on MSNBC in Rant on Virginia Governor's Race. Breitbart, Poll: Republican Glenn Youngkin Leads Democrat Terry McAuliffe Day Before Virginia Election.  AllahPundit  at Haut Hair whines that McAuliffe cancels election eve event in Virginia Beach as forecasters move state to "lean Republican". The wisdom of the betting masses, from Fox, Virginia governor's race: Bettors sour on McAuliffe as Youngkin surges. Don Surber, McAuliffe says 3 words that admit defeat. "not about Trump." At JTN, Spoiler? Third-party candidate for Virginia governor gives left-leaning voters another option "Princess Blanding is running in the newly formed Liberation Party" and at The Center Square, Third-party candidate for Virginia governor gives left-leaning voters another option. Also at JTN, Trump: If my base turns out to vote for Youngkin, he will win VA gubernatorial race ""I think he should win," Trump said of Glenn Youngkin." Althouse read Politico, "McAuliffe told a modest crowd outside a Fairfax brewery Monday night at his final rally. 'He is doing an event with Donald Trump here in Virginia.' That was a lie."

And he keeps digging, Twitchy, Terry McAuliffe wraps up his campaign by inviting AFT President Randi Weingarten to speak. Democrat pundits are already making excuses for his loss, at CNN, Why Democrats are in a lot of trouble in Virginia, Bidens unpopularity. Wapoo, Virginia went big for Biden, but on eve of another pivotal election, many voters say Democrats have not delivered for them But Lowder with Crowder catches a WaPoo Reporter, Jonathan Capehart.  Already Blaming 'Whiteness' McAuliffe Loss  on TV.  From Fox, McAuliffe calls for Virginia to 'diversify' teacher base, citing percentage of White teachers, "McAuliffe lamented that 80% of Virginia teachers are White even though 50% of students are non-White". Nick Arama at Red State thinks McAuliffe Put a Final Stake in His Campaign With Remarks About White Teachers, and sundance at CTH, VA Governors Race – Candidate Terry McAuliffe Closing Message, We Have Too Many White Teachers. Across da Pond at Da Mail, Democratic governor candidate Terry McAuliffe abruptly CANCELS rally on the eve of Virginia vote after he said state had too many white teachers and Glenn Youngkin took a 1% lead in race that could deal a huge blow to Biden. But Althouse catches  McAuliffe accusing Youngkin of racist dog whistling. Pot, Kettle. Insty, EVERYTHING IS GOING SWIMMINGLY. . . as mcAuliffe campaign blocks reporters. Fox, Glenn Youngkin: Parents matter in education – Virginia election will decide fate of students, schools. Anxious is anxious that Loudoun county that could decide Virginia's governor race.

Mediate cites Newt Gingrich Spreads Doubts About Virginia Election: If It’s a Close Race, Democrats Will ‘Steal It’. I too hope it's beyond the margin of fraud. According to the WSJ, cited at Haut Hair, Tight race in Virginia tests dueling party strategies,. At Da Mail,  Trump calls his critics 'perverts', attacks Fox News for running 'fake' ads' on Glenn Youngkin and questions Virginia's election 'integrity' before make-or-break gubernatorial vote tomorrow, Newt, Youngkin vs. McAuliffe: Two Opposing Strategies, calling your opponent racist, or proposing to fix education. Fox, McAuliffe backtracks days before election, says governor's race is 'not about Trump': 'Significant shift'  AllahPunit, who want everything to be about Tump, whom he hates,  whines On second thought: This Virginia race isn't about Trump, says McAuliffe

But for some interesting interblogger wafare, a rant by Ace, Vice: The Lincoln Project Only Admitted Their Role in the Charlottesville Race Hoax Because We Were About to Out Them in which he went off on AllahPundit (yet again).

The management of Hot Air needs to admit that AllahPundit is a left-liberal Democrat partisan, as the Washington Post was ultimately forced, out of embarrassment, to stop Jen Rubin from calling herself a "conservative" blogger. They don't have to fire him, but they do have to acknowledge his actual political affiliation as a very partisan left liberal.

They can't continue letting him claim all the biggest, grabbiest stories and letting him smear them with leftwing spin while claiming this constitutes a "conservative view" of the news.

And got some backup from Stacy McCain, on the Controlled Opposition: Has AllahPundit Always Been a Democrat Trojan Horse?

You can read the whole thing. Lately, Ace has been ripping Allah at least once a day, five days a week, and I fondly recall the days — circa 2007 or so — when it seemed like Ace was just kind of nudging around with Allah, like buddies playing the dozens, but more recently it has become apparent to me that Ace really hates Allah’s guts. And why?

Because AllahPundit is not, and really never has been, a team player.

Like football, politics is a team sport. Just turn on CNN sometime, and see them all shaking their media pompoms for Team Democrat. We know what team they’re on, and we want to beat that team. The whole point of conservative journalism is to do a Mark Gastineau-style sack dance on the faces of those dishonest liberal media hacks.

For more on Tiki-gate, Jim Treacher on substack, Tiki Torches and "Let's Go, Brandon": The Dems Have Lost Their Minds, WSJ, cited at Haut Hair, A campaign dirty trick in Virginia, Fox, Multiple outlets ripped for referring to Lincoln Project as 'Republicans', "Disgraced political group admitted role in Youngkin political stunt. " Miranda Devine at NYPo, The media needs to ignore ‘Lincoln’ liars, and the Victory Girls, Lincoln Project Stunt In Virginia Creates Blowback. Da Tech Guy has Five Very Quick #tikigate thoughts Under the Fedora

Did you notice how fast all the organs of the left were to jump on this story when it took place? How coordinated all the responses were and how perfect the angles of the various shots used were for the purpose of disinformation? Yup this had nothing to do with the McAuliffe campaign at all.

Matt Vespa, Liberal Reporter's Thread Hurls a Brick in the Face of CNN and Their Anti-Misinformation Crusade - Gleen Grenwalt, "CNN's primary marketing claim is it is devoted to combating disinformation and lies. Yesterday, @ProjectLincoln perpetrated a racist fraud on, one that caused Fake News and lies to spread all over social media. CNN did not wait even one day to put the LP scumbags back on air."

At the Wa Free Bee, GOP Senator Probes Virginia Utility’s Shady Push To Boost McAuliffe, "Dominion Energy funded mailer aimed at suppressing GOP votes"

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), in a letter to Dominion chief executive officer Robert Blue, asked the company to disclose whether Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe was aware of the $250,000 it spent on his behalf, and whether anything was promised in return for the spending blitz. The cash from Dominion, which is the only option for most Virginia residents, was used on an ad campaign to convince likely Republican voters to stay home because Youngkin wasn't strong enough on the Second Amendment, according to a report from Axios.

Cotton called it "likely the first time a public utility has spent ratepayers' money to suppress voting."

Dominion apologized after the spending effort was revealed by Axios and said it asked Accountability Virginia PAC, the liberal group that sent the mailers for Dominion, for a refund.

For those interest in this sort of thing (I'm not), sundance has the video of Glenn Youngkin's Wrap-up Rally, Loudoun County Fairgrounds

Breitbart warns, Virginia Sees Record Early Voting Numbers Ahead of Gubernatorial Election, so no need to find boxes of mail-in votes lost until after the votes are counted and Youngkin ekes out a victory?

With the increasing enthusiasm and an education-focused election, these numbers could foreshadow good news on election day in Virginia for Youngkin. If most Democrats vote early and Youngkin wins the Republican vote and keeps his lead among independent voters, he would be in good shape in the election. However, if Democrats can continue their early voting patterns into election day, McAuliffe will likely be successful on Tuesday.

Stacy McCain, It’s On You, Virginia. Who's going to win and who's going to whine? I predict claims of fraud and demands for audits. But by which side? Stay tuned.
