And it's not looking so good for Comey. Oh. One of the memos contained information that wasn’t classified when Comey turned it over to a Columbia law school professor, but was later upgraded to “confidential,” the lowest level of classification, The Wall Street Journal reported.

In the other, Comey redacted parts that he knew were classified to protect that information before he handed the documents over to the law prof, Daniel Richman, who passed them along to The New York Times.
Sean Davis noted this past January that, seven months later (and now nine months later), CNN still hasn't corrected its #FakeNews false reportage that Trump was lying when he said Comey leaked classified memos.

We now know that one was "confidential" and the other contained classified information (which Comey, allegedly, redacted).

CNN just leaves its original story up, uncorrected, no matter how much weight of its falsity piles up against it.

And who wrote it? Jake Tapper, the Super-Factual Only Honest Man in the Room (when James Comey isn't in the room, naturally).

And then there's the Andy McCabe show. Ace: McCabe, Now Criminally Referred by the OIG For Possible Prosecution for Making False Statements, Suing Trump for Defamation? McCabe to sue Trump admin for defamation, wrongful termination. So why is he not suing IG Horowitz, who recommended it?

McCabe either lied under oath or he didn't and this has nothing to do with President Trump pressuring a criminal prosecutor.

And speaking of idiotic lawsuits, Democratic Party files suit alleging Russia, the Trump campaign, and WikiLeaks conspired to disrupt the 2016 election for which they destroyed the evidence by deleting the emails, and declining to turn the servers over to the FBI. Law professor emeritus Ann Althouse:

Now that there's a lawsuit, it's time to think about counterclaims. I'd like to see what the defendants would come up with using an equally aggressive, far-reaching approach to using the courts to promote your political cause.

This move looks desperate enough on its face. But when you consider what it might actually mean, it looks like even more of a Hail Mary:

It really sounds like the Dems aren’t confident that the Mueller investigation will turn up what they’re hoping it will.

The only way that a president can commit obstruction of justice in the valid exercise of his legitimate authority is to have corrupt intent. The only way for Mueller to get directly to corrupt intent is to have proof of Trump’s state of mind at the time the actions were taken.
