The power went out about 2 pm here, saving me from having to watch the Redskins get clobbered by Kansas City. I started a fire in the fireplace, made sure the generator was working, and am now sitting in the gloom with about 1450 other customers while SMECO tries to restore power.
UPDATE: Power came back a little after 7 PM, cable a half hour later. That's more than enough time in the 19th Century.
