"“We weren’t rigorous enough,” conceded Times editor Dean Baquet in an interview Monday." Well, yes, that's true, but why? Because you were damned happy to get a story that slammed the President Trump's lawyer, and you all took it and ran. There's an easy cure for this, but one that you will never adopt. If a source burns you with a lie, out the source. You have no obligation to protect government sources that plant false stories on you, and you would be performing a public service by outing them.
