And The Rocket's Red Glare

We decided to do something a little different for July 4 this year, go out on the boat and watch the fireworks on the beach from the bay. So we bundled the whole crew, Georgia, Corwin, Abbey, Morgan, Gabby and myself and headed out just in time to catch. Georgia got to hold Gabby for a while as we took a jaunt down the "Location X" to check something out.
 The sunset.

You can start to see some smoke on the beach from a few of the ground fireworks that people had.

We anchored up a little bit outside the harbor to the north to await the main show.
A big full moon, getting ready to have an eclipse (which is just starting as I type)
Then the rich guys started setting of their bigger aerial firework There were several different groups, one on the south beach of Long Beach, one on the northern beach of Long Beach, one on Calvert Beach and one at Matoaka. As usual, more displays could be glimpsed well up the coast, and even a few across the Bay in the Little Choptank and Taylors Island are visible.

Remember, this is all volunteer. No government money, or even permission necessary. Just a display of conspicuous consumption, properly appreciated.
