A really nice day for a beach walk. Mid 60's, calm and clear.
A tough day for fossils. Lots of sand, not too much shell hash.
There were a fair number of families out on the beach, but you couldn't call it crowded. One or two masks in evidence, but not a majority. No problem keeping a nice 6 foot difference. We even have a 8 ft leash so little kids can pet Skye.
A Red Admiral set down on a clay boulder. The first I've spotted this year.
Red Admirals are reported to be cold sensitive, and not overwinter where it frosts regularly, suggesting that they migrate in.
A clam rig operating in the shallow water beyond the sand bar above Matoaka. You can see the back of the conveyor belt that digs into the sand and gets the clams. You can see the boat's name is "Bad Influence" out of Solomons.
