Humpday Obamacare Schadenfreude

Not a bad day here, for a March day here with snow still on the ground. The sun is out, the wind is down, and the temperatures are flirting with the freezing line.

Bad new for the Democrats going towards the 2014 midterm elections,  one third of people say that they have been personally hurt by Obamacare
One-third of Americans say the Affordable Care Act has had a negative impact on them personally, while 14 percent say the law has helped them, according to a new Rasmussen survey. The poll finds that public dissatisfaction with Obamcare remains nearly as high as it was during the height of the website’s problems last year.

Rasmussen finds that more people say they have a “very unfavorable” opinion of the law than have a favorable opinion of it at 41 and 40 percent, respectively. Fifty-six percent of respondents said they view the law unfavorably, just shy of a high of 58 percent in November of last year. Of the 40 percent who have a favorable opinion, only 16 percent view the law ”very favorably.”
You can fool yada, yada yada...

Previous Obama voter shocked to discover that Obamacare cut off her (prosthetic) leg:
"A Montgomery woman in desperate need of financial help, just so she can keep her prosthesis, and therefore keep walking," said a local anchor. "With no job, only disability for income, and no insurance, she recently turned to the government's health care plan, but is finding little help."

Her "needs regular adjustments," according to a local reporter. So she tried to sign up for Obamacare. "For three hours [the woman sat down] running into trouble on the web site, getting disconnected on the phone, and finding few answers, and nothing [she] could afford."

Says the woman, "The disability I get are $951, and the insurance that she looked over would be $400. That would be something out of the $951, trying to live, I couldn't pay that. I'm so used to getting up and going, I felt like if something happened to this leg I would feel like I would be down again."

In the video, note that private charity is doing more for her than Obamacare.

Now, according to Preznit Obama, he's entitled to do anything, as long as he things it's helping:

Obama Mocks GOP: ‘How Dare You Fix Things?,’ ‘You’re a Tyrant’ Using Executive Action
"For five years, Republicans in Congress have been talking about offering a serious plan of their own, their alternative. You can go back and look at every year -- 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 -- every year: "Our alternative plan is right around the corner." (Laughter.) "We're just about to put it on the floor." "We're going to have a vote." "We're still in the drafting process." Every year. I'm sure it's coming any day now. (Laughter.)
Of course, he's lying by saying they haven't presented a plan, but we'll let that one go for now.
"The reason they don't do it, of course, is that we already took the best ideas that are out there about bringing down costs and covering more people. Yes, there have been some disruptions. Yes, we lost that first month out of the gate. And we've worked hard to fix problems that have come up without any cooperation from them; in fact, they've complained when we fix them. They say, how dare you fix the things we were complaining about? (Laughter.) Have you noticed that? They'll complain about something, and then we take steps to fix it --"you're a tyrant," 'you're overreaching.' (Laughter.) You're laughing, but it's true. I'm not making this stuff up."
The fact that it needs continual violation of it's own rules and deadlines to avoid hurting millions of Americans before the next set of mid-term elections is its own proof that the ideas they conceived and implemented (well, sort of implemented) are nonviable. But then we always knew that Obamacare was the stalking horse for single payer (socialized) healthcare, which is what they always wanted.

Meanwhile back in hapless Oregon, home of the arguably worst Obamacare website, the state has agreed to fork out another $44,000,000 for the website, which at least until recently had not enrolled a single person, bringing the cost per enrollment to .... oops, I forgot, you can't divide by zero.
Gov. John Kitzhaber expressed pessimism about the prospects for Cover Oregon and Oracle finishing the website before the end of March, when nearly all Americans are required to have insurance under the federal health care law.

“It has become increasingly clear that we may not be able to have the public portion of the website operational for the current enrollment period,” Kitzhaber said in a statement following Cover Oregon’s announcement. “While I am deeply disappointed in the technology’s performance to date, we must do everything possible to ensure that we continue to enroll Oregonians through our current process.”

Kitzhaber’s statement followed the announcement by Cover Oregon that it’s reached a transition agreement with Oracle. The state agreed to pay $44 million of the nearly $70 million it was withholding. Cover Oregon said it will continue to withhold $25.6 million that Oracle Corp. has billed for technology development work from September 2013 through Feb. 28, 2014.
