Patriots, With Tom Brady’s Knowledge, Most Likely Deflated Footballs, Report Says
He called himself the deflator. A longtime locker-room attendant for the New England Patriots, Jim McNally, 48, was responsible for controlling the air pressure in the footballs that quarterback Tom Brady would use on the field. Those should be worth a penny or two.
Another game-day employee, an assistant named John Jastremski, was in direct communication with Brady and provided McNally with memorabilia, including shoes and autographed footballs.
Along with Brady, the quarterback regarded among the best ever, the two low-rung employees, co-conspirators and friends — who joked about the covert work they were doing — were in the Patriots’ equipment room on Jan. 10, just before a playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. McNally received two footballs signed by Brady. He had Brady autograph a game-used jersey.Somewhere well down on the list of shit I care about.
As Tom Brady reportedly said*:
The Patriots never did anything knowingly inappropriate. They deflated their balls when they were dead broke, and have to continue to do so to pay the bills.* In a universe where the Harry Reid, purported pedophile, standard for truth prevails.
