Super Bowl LX

My prediction, Seattle by 3 in overtime. Not because I have any special insight or particularly care about either team, but because it seems to me, more and more games are being decided in the last few seconds by a field goal in the last few seconds. It's beginning to smell a bit like professional wrestling.

UPDATE: I was wrong. Super Bowl 2026 live updates: Seahawks defeat Patriots 29-13.

Tattoo Tuesday

Of course it all comes down to a bet to get a nude Jason Kelce tattoo. Lauren Philpot, who got the shocking and viral tattoo that pictures a cartoon nude Kelce, told TMZ Sports the story behind it is from a bet she lost to her husband dating back to the 2022-23 season.

Philpot, who is a Giants fan, is still a fan of the six-time All-Pro and Super Bowl champ along with Kelce’s wife, Kylie. For those reasons, she doesn’t have any regrets about the new body art, nor the three to five hours it took to get it done. “This is who I am as a person, a bet is a bet,” Philpot said. “If I get it covered up, I still went through with it. No, I don’t care. It’s a funny story. It’s something that my husband and I like to do.”
. . .
Kelce saw the tattoo as it made the rounds on social media and initially posted on X, “I’m not sure if I should be offended or flattered.” It wasn’t until about 30 minutes later that he made his final decision on it. “I think it’s more flattered,” he posted, “it’s a generous bird, good-sized head.”

"Yesterday, I wrote about Danielle Sassoon's resignation, and Emil Bove's response. Today, Hagan Scotten, another Assistant United States Attorney resigned with a formal letter. . . . What we have here are two very different conceptions of the federal criminal justice system. On the one hand, Sassoon and her colleagues defend the traditional notion that "independent" prosecutors have the power to define what is in the public good. They can define when public officials abuse their power, and can punish those actions with criminal sanctions. (We saw similar arguments during the first Trump impeachment.) Those defending Sassoon are invested in the DOJ club, and the continuation of its longstanding practices. President Trump, through Bove, articulate a different perspective. The President, as head of the executive branch, can make his own determination of what is in the public good, and determine when public officials are abusing their power. Trump, perhaps more than any living person, is uniquely situated to make this sort of judgment. From the moment he was sworn in, he faced nonstop litigation (remember the Emoluments Clauses?) and two impeachment trials. After he left office, he was indicted in several courts based on novel and dubious theories of criminal liability. Who can forget the efforts to disqualify him under Section 3--which also led to a unanimous Supreme Court reversals? And despite all that happened, Trump still won re-election. Distinguished prosecutors thought they knew what was in the public good. The voters disagreed. There will likely be more resignations. But I think little more is left to be said here. There are two diametrically-opposed views on display. And only one such view can prevail." Residents in some border cities wonder what the soldiers will be doing." Here's a Cato Institute description of the Fox Butterfield Effect: A former reporter for the New York Times, Fox Butterfield, became a bit of a laughingstock in the 1990s for publishing a series of articles addressing the supposed quandary of how crime rates could be falling during periods when prison populations were expanding. A number of critics sarcastically explained that crimes rates were falling because bad guys were behind bars and invented the term “Butterfield Effect” to describe the failure of someone to put 2 + 2 together." Inga Thompson, a former U.S. Olympic cyclist and lifelong member of the Democratic Party, admitted recently in an interview that she’s rooting for President Donald Trump when it comes to his views on protecting female sports from the transgender nonsense.

One of the biggest sticking points in Trump‘s campaign was his vow to wipe out biological males competing against women. During election season, pro-Trump advertisements put Kamala Harris on the side of transgenders being allowed to partake in female sports, which she is. My man Trump even gloriously labeled transgenders in women’s sports as “so far out.” (LMAO, love it) That’s when Thompson caught herself showing support for the president.

Now, mega-stars like Sylvester Stallone are coming out to support President Donald Trump and few are demanding an apology. Trump’s inauguration drew stars like Kid Rock, Carrie Underwood and Snoop Dogg and no one shared a mewling mea culpa the next day.

Except Jewel. The ’90s era sensation, best known for hits like “Who Will Save Your Soul,” performed at a GOP ball honoring Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Trump’s choice for Health and Human Services Secretary. That enraged a select group of Jewel’s fans. She rushed to her Instagram account to share a video apology as if it were still 2020.

Rule 5 Saturday - Veronica Bielik

From Outkick, Instagram Star Veronica Bielik Reveals Why She Had Implants Removed
Former NFL head coach Kliff Kingsbury's girlfriend Veronica Bielik didn't hold back Thursday when addressing news about the assets that helped propel her to a massive 3.7 million Instagram following.

Her fake boobs are gone.

I'll say it again in case you glossed over that line of text: Veronica Bielik, the Polish Instagram Hall of Famer, has removed her implants and she has a message to women who think they cannot succeed on the social media platform without a pair of bolt-ons.

"Girls… we are enough, with our uniquely perfect bodies," she told her followers.

"I waited with a post about my explant surgery a bit longer because I wasn’t share what decision I’ll make next. For those who didn’t see my stories in last few weeks - my both implants were leaking and I had to have them removed in August," Bielik wrote in her Instagram declaration.

"Plastic surgeons rarely talk about all the possible complications, they picture breast augmentation as the easiest and most common surgery in the world. The amount of women that reached out to me telling about their issues blew my mind.

"Our bodies are not designed to have 2 silicone objects inside it and unfortunately most of the women start dealing with auto immune diseases connected with them."

In 2022, Danica Patrick announced that she had her implants removed and noted how her health instantly started to get better. Bielik says the same happened to her.

Tattoo Thursday

TODAY co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin settled a bet on Jan. 27 after Savannah’s Philadelphia Eagles trounced Craig’s Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game on Jan. 26 to advance to the Super Bowl.

The pair made a bet last week that their respective team would win the game, and the loser had to wear a temporary tattoo of the other’s face in a prominent position for a week. So, Craig happily obliged. Carson Daly did the honors, applying the ink on the back of Craig’s neck. The tat was a picture of Savannah wearing an Eagles hat, with the team’s logo superimposed over it.

“I haven’t even seen the picture,” said Craig, who was also a gifted a jersey from Savannah of Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley. “Let this be a lesson. Don’t gamble,” Craig added.
I wouldn't bet on the Redskins Commanders.

Random Celebrity News

For some values of "random", "celebrity" and "news."   At the Pop Times, Hawk Tuah Girl Under Fire For Disastrous Meme Coin Launch There's a sucker born every minute.

A few months ago she became an overnight sensation for describing how to… uh… keep a man happy. Since that infamous interview, Ms. Welch has used her newfound fame to donate to charities (she loves animals), meet other famous people, and even start a podcast (Talk Tuah got as high as #5 on the top U.S. podcasts list.)

It’s perhaps the most famous someone has ever gotten from a viral video that’s barely worth a laugh – and she’s been milking it for all it’s worth. And you can hardly blame her – if people are still going to give her attention, why wouldn’t she? It’s doubtful that even she thought her fifteen minutes of fame would extend for months.

Her most recent endeavor, however, has landed her in some hot water. This week Welch launched a Hawk Tuah meme coin.
. . .
Just as quickly, $HAWK lost 95% of it’s value, losing investors millions of dollars, as Welch immediately dumped her coins on the market. This is also known as “rugpulling” (as in, pulling the rug out from investors).
From Breitbart, Giants Player Allegedly Paid OnlyFans Model to Flash Saints: ‘I Did My Part’
It’s unclear if this falls under the category of unsportsmanlike conduct, but what a Giants player allegedly did to distract the opposing team on Sunday is on another level.

OnlyFans model Ava Louise claims she was gifted free tickets to the Giants-Saints game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, but only if she flashed the Saints to distract them.

The unnamed player requested that he remain unidentified to prevent being “fined” or “fired.”

Louise shared screenshots from her OnlyFane page, which reportedly show the text of a conversation between her and the unnamed Giants player. Louise captioned the post with a message, “Doing what I do for a living has its perks.”

Anonymous Giants player: “Hey sexy, got those 2 free tickets to the game if you do me a solid and flash the saints to distract them.”

Despite Louise’s efforts, the Saints were not effectively distracted. The Giants lost 14-11.

Hollywood in Toto think it's Weird! Rachel Zegler’s ‘Y2K’ Tanks at Box Office

“Y2K’s” tepid pre-release forecast tapped out at $5 million. No such luck over the weekend, with the film earning just $2.1 million from 2,100 theaters. The far-Left Deadline noted how poorly the film performed, both for the spunky genre and its most notable star.

Genre has typically worked here in a niche form, but not this year as A24’s Rachel Zegler-led Y2K is blipping out with a $2.1M opening and a C- CinemaScore. While arthouse distribs like Neon and A24 have low thresholds for success, and this Kyle Mooney-directed horror comedy cost under $15M, $2M+ isn’t anything to brag about — if it gets there. And it’s certainly not good for Zegler.

Zegler, a rising star thanks to “West Side Story” and the “Hunger Games” prequel, cemented her “It” actress status by snagging the lead role in Disney’s “Snow White’ live-action film.

She proceeded to crush that goodwill with baffling statements that riled up audiences across the country. First, she slammed the “Snow White” source material, calling it “weird” and suggesting the new version would fix what was wrong with a movie that jump-started the Disney empire.

More recently, she savaged President-Elect Donald Trump’s voters, hoping they would “never know peace” following the mogul’s Election Day victory. The comments went viral, adding to her brand as a spoiled actress eager to insult potential movie goers.

She quickly backpedaled, apologizing for her cruel words. Did audiences reject “Y2K” in response?

From Da Signal,  2 More Celebrities Embrace Traditional Values

Two big-name celebrities did something radical last weekend: They embraced traditional values. Could these be signs that the tides are turning in the culture war? Is the public finally canceling cancel culture?

Pop singer Gwen Stefani announced on social media that she will partner with Hallow, the world’s No. 1 prayer app for Catholics, to lead an Advent prayer meditation. Other celebrities to narrate prayers on Hallow include actors Jonathan Roumie, Mark Wahlberg, and Patricia Heaton.

It turns out that Stefani, the No Doubt frontwoman, is a practicing Catholic who never missed a Sunday Mass while on tour with the band.

Also over the weekend, singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey, while presenting an award at Variety magazine’s eighth annual Hitmakers Event, had this to say about her values:

It’s super nerve-racking to hold on to an innocent perception of how things could go when you’re in an industry where maybe your values and your morals don’t quite match up with what’s going on. Especially when people think you probably don’t have any morals or values.

Del Rey, who has sported a signature Americana aesthetic since 2012, called new husband Jeremy Dufrene an “honest partner.”

BIS, F3 Driver Sophia Flörsch Takes a Shot at $500M Superstar Lewis Hamilton: “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is”

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton knows how to raise eyebrows both on and off the track. He recently raised the issue of diversity in motorsport and said he would like to set up an F1 team that would have a diversity policy.

Sophia Flörsch, an F3 driver, didn’t shy away from publicly calling out Hamilton and challenged him to follow through on his words with actions. And that created a lot of backlash.

In a recent interview, Hamilton expressed his dream of having a team promoting diversity from the start. He highlighted junior talents such as Doriane Pin and Kenzo Craigie, both rising talents in the motorsport world, saying: “If I was to make a team, maybe one day I will, it’ll be diverse from the beginning.”
. . .
Alpine Academy driver Sophia Flörsch caused a stir by shrugging off Hamilton’s broadside with a blunt retort. Answering to a Motorsport.com post on X, she said: “Put your money where your mouth is.”

With president-elect Donald Trump joining forces with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. during the election and the former selecting the latter to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it makes sense that Bush would be all in on Make America Healthy Again.

She's done all she can to assist the Dolphins this season. Where they end up at the end of the regular season is squarely on them. There's not much else she can do for the team.

Where Rachel Bush can help out is by leading by example for the MAHA movement. Let's get the garbage out of the food. It's past time to clean all that up.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Trump and RFK Jr bringing her in for a few meetings. Brainstorm some Make America Healthy Again ideas, then have her do her thing on social media. Let's get this done the right way.

It's go time for Lindsey Vonn. The talk is over. US Ski Team Head Coach Paul Kirstofic confirmed that this week. Vonn will be competing at the FIS Fall Festival at Copper Mountain this weekend. The event takes place from Dec. 6-8.
. . .
No comeback is complete without creating some buzz and moving some products. Vonn checked the buzz portion of the equation off the list not long after her comeback was announced. Vonn accomplished that with a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit body paint throwback. On Thursday it was time to move some products.

At Fox, Actress dies after consuming amphibian's venom at spiritual cleansing retreat

A Mexican actress is dead after voluntarily participating in a spiritual cleansing ritual during which she reportedly consumed poisonous Amazonian frog venom.

Marcela Alcázar Rodríguez, 33, took some of the poison as part of a spiritual cleansing return that some South American natives have used for toxic cleansing, according to local reports.

Rodríguez started throwing up and had severe diarrhea. She first refused help while feeling ill but eventually gave in when her friend visited and her condition worsened, witnesses said.

Amanda Harding at Da Wire reports  ‘Oppenheimer’ Star Emma Dumont Comes Out As ‘Trans Masculine Non-Binary’ "The star also debuted “they/them” pronouns on Instagram and will use a new name, Nick."
“Would have been easier to just say ‘Emma Dumont comes out as mentally ill,'” one X commenter said.

“Emma Dumont comes out as attention seeker. Fixed it for you,” another one wrote.

“‘Oppenheimer’ star Emma Dumont comes out as a boring narcissistic attention seeker who thinks – mistakenly – getting a haircut and donning a t-shirt makes her interesting,” a third commenter shared.

The star has been active in Hollywood since 2009 with credits in minor films and TV shows. Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” took home 7 Academy Awards earlier this year including Best Picture, Directing, Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Cinematography, Film Editing, and Original Score.

At BIS,  Miami Lost Twice This Past Weekend When Their Mascot Unsuccessfully Tried Hitting On A Syracuse Reporter

After starting the season with nine straight wins, the Miami Hurricanes have now lost two out of their last three contests. The latest was a 42-38 defeat to the Syracuse Orangemen in the JMA Wireless Dome.

Miami blew a 21-0 lead in the second quarter to fall to their Atlantic Coast Conference rival.

Also falling was their mascot. Down to one knee. In an attempt to get a local reporter’s phone number. He took his eye off the ball.

Ashley Wenskoski, a sports anchor and reporter for CNY Central, said Sebastian, who is defined as “an anthropomorphic white ibis,” was hitting on her during a crucial stretch of the game.

“Sebastian the Ibis just kneeled down and asked for my number mid-drive Feels like he has bigger things to worry about with his team on the ropes in the 4th quarter at the Dome…but who am I to say,” Wenskokski wrote on X.

Forget It Jake, It's Baltimore

Breitbart, Ravens Fan Caught on Video Attacking Commanders Fans in Downtown Baltimore

A disturbing video is going viral of a Baltimore Ravens fan marauding through downtown Baltimore and physically attacking Washington Commanders fans in the street after Sunday’s game. The video shows a hulking fan wearing a Lamar Jackson Baltimore jersey picking out two men wearing Commanders jerseys.

It is unclear what set this Ravens fan off, or if there was any previous interaction between this man and the two Commanders fans, but in the video, he is seen racing towards the two men and tries to kick one of them.

But before either of the two could do much to react to what was happening, the Ravens fan delivered a brutal haymaker to one of the Commanders fan’s face, sending him to the pavement. The Ravens fan then takes out after the second man, who runs to get away from the assault.

After the second Commanders fan scampers away, the Ravens fan screams, “I don’t lose,” as the video ends.

It is unclear if the police ever became involved in the incident. Still, many on X have already claimed to have identified the attacker as a man who works for an insurance company in Baltimore.

Random Celebrity News

For some values of "random", "celebrity" and "news". First, from Variety, Winona Ryder Gets Frustrated by Her Younger Co-Stars Who ‘Are Not Interested in Movies’: ‘The First Thing They Say’ Is ‘How Long Is It?’

Winona Ryder is a cinephile and really wants her younger co-stars to be, too. In recent interviews while promoting her role in Tim Burton’s upcoming sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the Oscar-nominated actor lamented over how some of the young actors she’s worked with in recent years just aren’t interested in watching movies. Be it working with the “Stranger Things” kids or Jenna Ortega on the “Beetlejuice” sequel, Ryder told Esquire she is very much aware that “I’ve gone from being the youngest person on set to being the oldest.”

As the Los Angeles Times noted in a recent profile: “Ryder appreciates getting to interact with the up-and-coming generation of film lovers who remind her of herself, excitedly telling me how her ‘Stranger Things’ co-star Finn Wolfhard is obsessed with Elliott Gould. Still, she gets frustrated when there is a lack of curiosity among her more junior colleagues.”

“I don’t mean to sound so hopeless,” she added to the magazine. “There are a few that are just not interested in movies. Like, the first thing they say is, ‘How long is it?’”

Maybe the new movies just aren't that interesting. From OutKick,  Is Shakira The Victim Of An Upskirt Video At A Miami Club?

Mariska Hargitay, 60, who has starred as Olivia Benson in the “Law & Order” franchise since 1999 — making her the longest-running character in the longest-running prime-time drama — said that she’s been “deeply” impacted by the show.

“When I started the show, I wasn’t aware of how deeply it would go into me,” Hargitay said in a recent interview with “SVU” fan Selena Gomez published Monday in Interview magazine.

Hargitay, who has been married to “Blue Bloods” actor Peter Hermann since 2004, added, “My husband Peter is always like, anytime I go anywhere, my first question is, ‘What’s the crime rate here?’ So it’s on the brain.”
