Random Celebrity News

For the usual values of random, celebrity and news. I haven't done one of these in a while, so some of the stories are, shall we say, well aged:

From Ace, DEI Actress: DEI Has Become a Bad Word in Hollywood and We Have to Use Different Words Now to Push Our DEI Grift  Good. Until now, she was just a frequent crossword answer.

Issa Rae says DEI has become a 'bad word' in Hollywood as executives of color 'tiptoe' to keep jobs
'Insecure' actress spoke at TheWrap's Creators x Hollywood Summit about the rollback of DEI initiatives

Actress Issa Rae said Thursday that she believes diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) has become a toxic topic for the entertainment industry.

"I'm seeing it," the "Insecure" actress said while participating in TheWrap's Creators x Hollywood Summit. "Just blatantly. People are scared and just not necessarily investing the same way that they would have before. Even executives who, you know, are of color are also like tiptoeing like, 'Well, I can't co-sign you because I'm going to lose my job.' And that's scary to see and sad to see because it's kind of like a bad word now."
In other words, moneylosing grifter projects had previously been greenlighted due to the DEI lobby's power and now that lobby has lost power and DEI projects aren't getting greenlighted and DEI hustlers aren't getting paid.

At Althouse, "There is supposed to be an esprit de corps between artistic colleagues."

Link to X.  What exactly did Arquette say? I found this paragraph, from 3 days ago, in the London Times, "Rosanna Arquette: ‘I paid a price for saying no to Harvey Weinstein’/The actress shot to fame 40 years ago alongside Madonna — and is back in a film, The Moment, with Charli XCX. She talks marriage, motherhood and surviving Hollywood":
In 1994 Arquette had a minor but memorable role in Pulp Fiction, playing the drug dealer Eric Stoltz’s wife and telling John Travolta why she’d pierced her tongue (“Sex thing. Helps fellatio”). “It’s iconic, a great film on a lot of levels. But personally I am over the use of the N-word — I hate it. I cannot stand that he [Tarantino] has been given a hall pass. It’s not art, it’s just racist and creepy.”
I don't think she's saying the whole film is "not art." She's rejecting the idea that the "n-word" can be used if only it's within what is genuinely art. She's saying it's still "racist and creepy" — even when the work of art was made at a time when the taboo on saying the word wasn't so strong. I note that Tarantino himself avoided any use of it in his last film, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" (2019).

Page 6 has Heather Graham slams ‘awkward’ new reality of Hollywood sex scenes. It's No fun anymore.

Heather Graham shared mixed feelings about Hollywood’s “awkward” new approach to filming sex scenes.

Graham opened up about working with intimacy coordinators in the wake of the #MeToo Movement.

“I think the MeToo movement was amazing [and] I think there is a very good intention behind intimacy coordinators. But it is odd when you come up without having them, and suddenly there’s this random person in the room just staring at you when you’re, like, pretending you have sex,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s kind of awkward.”

“I know that they have a beautiful intention, and they really want to help and protect actors,” Graham continued. “But as the actor, sometimes I’m like, ‘Can you just get all these people out of the room?’”

At OutKick, Sophie Cunningham Had A White-Hot SI Swimsuit Debut, Kay Adams Is On Bikini Time

Welcome to a Hump Day Nightcaps – the one where Sophie Cunningham dumps out new SI Swimsuit content on the eve(ish) of the WNBA season.

What else? I've got Vrabel/Russini drama (duh), Kay Adams turned 40 in a bikini this week, and it was a BANNER night for major league baseball last night.

And by that, I mean fists were flying and managers were ON FIRE.

Grab yourself some headgear just to be safe, and strap in for a violent Hump Day 'Cap!

Another from Page 6, Sydney Sweeney has the last laugh in second American Eagle ad campaign

She’s back.

Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle are back together, with the “Euphoria” star modeling a selection of summer-ready jean shorts in her second campaign for the retailer.

Dubbed “Syd for Short: American Eagle Jean Shorts,” the ads see Sweeney ditching the second half of her name and the lower half of her pants, posing in cutoffs, a baby tee and breezy button-up shirt.

“What brand am I wearing?” the star playfully asks the camera in the accompanying campaign video. “Yeah, that one.”

Russian Beauty Influencer Warns Putin: 'People Will Get Tired of Being Afraid'
Victoria Bonya is a former model an TV star from Russia. She was on the Russian equivalent of Big Brother back in 2006 which is how she first became famous inside Russia. These days she apparently lives in Monaco and travels the globe as a kind of fitness and beauty influencer.

We might as well just get it out of the way. She is quite good looking...
...
The 18-minute Instagram critique was a surprise pivot for Victoria Bonya, a Monaco-based Russian influencer whose videos are better known for their lifestyle tips...

“There is a big, fat wall between you and us, the ordinary people,” Bonya, 46, said in a direct address to Putin earlier this week as she accused top officials of being too afraid to tell him the truth.

She rattled off to her 13 million followers a number of problems that she said were facing Russia — the major curtailing of digital freedoms, mass extermination of livestock in Siberia, deadly flooding in the southern Dagestan region and the oil slick drifting off Russia’s Black Sea coast.

“People will get tired of being afraid,” she said in the video, which has now been viewed more than 26 million times and liked by 1.4 million. “They’re being compressed like a spring, and one day, that spring will just snap.”

Rule 5 Saturday - Shae Smolik

This week's Rule 5  Inspiration: Meet Shae LeRae Smolik:
Hi Shae LeRae, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

I got started in acting when I was about eight years old. I did modeling first in Iowa, then branched into acting and got representation in Chicago. After booking several jobs, my family and I realized that I loved being in front of the camera, so we pursued a bigger market in Los Angeles and moved here. We thought there would be more opportunities in the Hollywood area as opposed to the Midwest.

I am also a Country music singer, and I’ve been doing that for a few years. I really love doing live performances. I have recently started writing my own music and my first single totally written by me will be out this month as well as a music video!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

I feel with acting, it’s like a roller coaster! You get an audition, and it can go many different ways from there. You may get a call back which is super exciting and possibly pinned and book the role or it could go the other way, and you audition and you never hear another word about it. It gets kind of nerve-racking at times. With singing, it’s a constant struggle trying to find gigs to play that are age-appropriate, new music, trying to produce the music, and of course, practicing. I am currently looking for a guitarist and a drummer so that we can do more live gigs together.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am an actress, country music, singer, model, and influencer. I started off at an early age modeling, and then that flowed into acting, singing, and eventually developing on social media. My true passion is acting, I love developing characters and being on set with the cast and crew.
Busy girl!

Rule 5 Saturday - Mayra Veronica

With Cuba in the news lately, it's vaguely appropriate that today's Rule 5 wonder is an Cuban ex-pat, Mayra Veronica
Mayra Verónica Aruca Rodríguez (born August 20, 1980) is a Cuban singer, actress, model, and television public figure who became popular for her appearances on Spanish-language television. Verónica's role in Univision's Don Francisco Presenta brought her to the attention of FHM magazine's US edition. After appearing in FHM, she went on to do additional magazine work. She has taken part in many Spanish-language television shows, as well as appearing in music videos and television commercials.
Mayra Verónica was born in Havana, Cuba, where her father was a member of one of Cuba's rock bands, Los Dada. At the age of six, she moved to Miami with her mother.

Verónica continued school, and after joining a local beauty pageant and becoming Ms. Miami, the photographer who covered the event was captivated by Mayra's photos, and invited her to his studio for free sessions. Thus, Mayra obtained her first modeling book and signed with a local agent in Miami. The agent sent her to an audition for a local TV entertainment news show "Miami Hoy" (at the time Mayra was at Florida International University majoring in psychology and theater). She did not know much about being a reporter but determined she could act like one.
FHM, the top men's magazine of the time, contacted Veronica's publicist to ask for a feature spread on their magazine. Veronica agreed and after mail requesting her return, she went on to appear on the cover of the FHM exclusive collection book, which included top sex symbols of the decade such as Pamela Anderson, Eva Longoria, and Carmen Electra. From 2004 to 2010, Mayra Verónica made FHM's "Sexiest Women in the World" list six years in a row.

Maybe Marco will put her in charge of Cuba soon.

Playboy France Playmate of the Day Photo - by Philipe Hernandez (NSFW)
Skip: So, tell us a little bit about yourself, Jamie.

Jamie: My background was in commercial real estate. I worked in commercial real estate for 13 years, starting in Manhattan and then coming back to San Francisco, but I fell into modeling four years ago. I was discovered by somebody who was a casting director and then primarily by you, Skip, and you really launched my modeling career and helped me blossom and you offered me a job here working for you not just as a model but as a social media manager and then director. I was able to really explore my passion for fashion and my passion for writing and modeling.

Skip: Cool. So, I guess that's kind of some of your highlights. Were there any highlights in modeling besides taking over the feature film and then also being in the short film? Were there any more photoshoots for brands? I know you’ve worked with some really interesting brands. I saw some different lingerie and sportswear. What were the highlights of the ones outside of West Coast Leather?

Jamie: I did shoot and became Playmate of the Day for Playboy France with another photographer whose name is also Philipe. His full name is Philipe Hernandez. I also shot a commercial for Paypal.

Random Celebrity News

For the usual values of random, celebrity and news. First, at Breitbart, Former Gymnast Slams ACLU Trans Ad with Megan Rapinoe: ‘Sports Are Not About Inclusion’

Former gymnast Jennifer Sey rebuked the ACLU and Megan Rapinoe after the organization posted a video supporting delusional males who believe they have a right to women’s sports and spaces. . . .Sey, who is a USA National artistic gymnastics champion and the founder of XX-XY Athletics, an activewear company that advocates for protecting women’s sports and spaces, told Fox News Digital the video made her “so angry.”

“Sports aren’t about any of those things. Sports are about competition. Sports are not about inclusion. Not everybody makes the team,” Sey told the outlet. “Sports are competing and striving to get better, and it’s about self-reliance and picking yourself up when you fall down. They’re not about freedom. There’s rules in sports. Three strikes and you’re out,” she added. “There’s rules across every single sport. So I don’t know what these people are talking about, and to make it about this idea that sports aren’t about competition.”

Sey went on to say that males have biological advantages over women that are greater than performance-enhancing drugs, and said she believes Rapinoe would have wanted a fair playing field during her soccer career.  “Megan Rapinoe has to be one of the most competitive women on the planet. She was on Olympic teams and World Cup teams. She’s one of the most famous soccer players ever. She’s full of it. It just makes me angry, and she’s pulling up the ladder behind her,” Sey said. “And I’m sure she would not have tolerated a single player taking performance-enhancing drugs because that provides an unfair advantage.”

At Althouse,  That can't feel good. Attention gained, mission accomplished.

"Her custom negligee dress and matching cape were crafted in silk georgette in a deep red garnet. But once Roan removed the cape, the result was a naked dress that seemingly exposed her breasts, with the silk georgette suspended by nipple rings."

I'm reading "Chappell Roan’s Naked Dress at Grammys Shocks Social Media/The double Grammy nominee created what was arguably the night's first viral moment when she turned up in a sheer look by Mugler" (Hollywood Reporter).

Congratulations on getting attention. It's quite a look, and it kind of looks good. But I'm just worried about that kind of weight suspended from pierced nipples. You're treating your breasts like hooks on the back of a bathroom door, things to hang clothing on.

Here's a closeup (on X) that highlights the pulling. It's not just an illusion that the whole bottom of the dress is hanging from those nipple rings. You can see the distortion from the weight. You can see the risk of injury. The viewer is drawn into the experience of pain and danger. Who is that for?

PJM's Mike Cantrell hears Nicki Minaj Calls Out Christian Voters Supporting Democrats After Minnesota Church Chaos

In a post on X following the Grammys, Minaj wrote, “Any Christian who votes democrat again is a fool. They’re showing people that it’s ok to disrupt a church during worship. This is how they truly feel about you. The veil is lifted. No morals. No integrity. It’s not enough for them to have an opinion, they’ve escalated to physical intrusion of places of worship. The demons inside of them are so bothered. All the time.”

Grammy host Trevor Noah — perhaps one of the least funny people in Hollywood, even worse than Stephen Colbert — took shots at Minaj and her recent expression of admiration for President Donald Trump. Keep in mind, Noah left hosting Comedy Central’s Daily Show after the program lost 75% of its viewership.

“Nicki Minaj is not here,” Noah said during the broadcast. “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues.” Queer artist and actor Billy Porter also slammed Minaj during a red-carpet interview, bluntly saying, “f**k her.”

Minaj, much like the president, does not sit back on her haunches when critics unfairly target and attack her. Much to the chagrin of the left, she punches back — hard. The rapper tore into Noah, referring to him as a closeted gay man and saying, “Trevor refuses to come out the closet when everyone in the industry knows his boyfriend. Allegedly.”

Insty, I ALREADY LOVE HER, YOU DON’T HAVE TO KEEP SELLING ME:

Random Celebrity News

For some values of random celebrity and news. First, Breitbart reports US-Born Skier Eileen Gu Again Chooses to Represent China in 2026 Winter Games, but is it for the little girls or for the money?

American-born Olympic freestyle skiing gold medalist Eileen Gu is defending her decision to represent China once again at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy. The two-time gold medalist competed for China’s Olympic team in 2022 and is defending her decision to stick with China this year. In a new interview, Gu claimed she was trying to inspire more girls in China to participate in her sport, which is less popular there. “The U.S. already has the representation. I like building my own pond,” she said, TIME magazine reported. Gu also insisted that the millions she earns from Chinese companies don’t “cross her mind.”

TIME claimed that the skier “insists the potential to earn more representing Chinese companies didn’t cross her mind. ‘I’m glad that there’s enough money in the sport now for people to think that’s a consideration,’” Gu told the magazine. She says she is “important” because she can discuss physics on one day and then walk the catwalk in a fashion show the next.

Also from Breitbart Scarlett Johansson, Cate Blanchett, & More Stars Back Anti-AI Campaign: ‘Stealing Our Work Is Not Innovation’.

Actors Scarlett Johansson, Cate Blanchett, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are reportedly among 700 supporters of a new anti-AI campaign. “Stealing our work is not innovation,” the initiative asserts. “It’s theft.” “America’s creative community is the envy of the world and creates jobs, economic growth, and exports,” the anti-artificial intelligence effort, titled, “Stealing Isn’t Innovation,” reads. “But rather than respect and protect this valuable asset, some of the biggest tech companies, many backed by private equity and other funders, are using American creators’ work to build AI platforms without authorization or regard for copyright law,” the message continues.

The one thing I like about AI is that it's likely to replace the people that deserve it. It's not all that smart, but neither are they.

The recently-launched initiative goes on to assert, “Artists, writers, and creators of all kinds are banding together with a simple message: Stealing our work is not innovation. It’s not progress. It’s theft — plain and simple.”

The Human Artistry Campaign — a coalition made up of creators, unions, and industry groups advocating for their rights in the era of artificial intelligence — is the entity behind the anti-generative AI push, insisting that “a better way exists.”

ABC News,  Actress Sydney Sweeney could face legal trouble after draping Hollywood Sign with bras. They had me at Sydney Sweeney and bra.

An apparent publicity move by Sydney Sweeney could bring legal trouble for the actress. The 28-year-old pulled a promotional stunt at the Hollywood Sign for what's believed to be her new lingerie brand.

Sweeney could be looking at possible trespassing and vandalism charges after draping the Hollywood Sign with dozens of bras. The actress had a crew filming the whole thing, and the video was first obtained by TMZ.

In the cover of darkness, the video shows Sweeney tossing several clotheslines of bras over the big letters of the sign. It was apparently a stunt to support her new lingerie line, though the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce says the production involving Sweeney was not authorized. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce owns the intellectual property rights to the image of the Hollywood Sign, and they say a "license or permission" would be needed from them to access the sign. They say that step never happened.
From Page 6, Haley Baylee begs judge to toss ex-husband Matt Kalil’s lawsuit over her comments about his penis size
Haley Baylee is requesting her ex-husband Matt Kalil’s lawsuit be dismissed after he sued the influencer over comments she made about his penis size. In court papers obtained by Page Six, Baylee is requesting the presiding judge dismiss Kalil’s invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment lawsuit against her.

“Plaintiff’s complaint seeks to hold a woman in the public eye civilly liable for providing a truthful, autobiographical account of sexual trauma she suffered and described as having led to the end of a highly publicized celebrity marriage with an NFL football star,” the court papers read.
. . .
The model added that they divorced over a “specific anatomical incompatibility that rendered a normal sexual relationship impossible.” The court docs then explain the couple made “desperate, years-long efforts to overcome this physical barrier and save their marriage.”
. . .
The model compared Kalil’s penis size to “two Coke cans stacked on top of each other, maybe even a third.”

She should think of it as a challenge. From Bounding into Sports Lindsey Vonn Airlifted After Crash on Swiss Slopes

Olympic skiing legend Lindsey Vonn suffered a harrowing crash during the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup downhill race in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, on Friday. Reports indicate she was airlifted off the course for medical evaluation.

Vonn lost control after landing a jump in deteriorating visibility and heavy snow, skidding sideways into the safety netting. Her airbag deployed upon impact. She remained in the area for several minutes, clutching her left knee in pain, before medical staff assisted her.

Despite the agony, Vonn managed to ski slowly to the finish area, stopping multiple times, and was then harnessed and airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

“Lindsey Vonn fell in the Crans Montana downhill and is being evaluated,” the U.S. Ski Team reported. They have provided little in the way of details at this time.

I just heard on the tube that it was a non-displaced fracture, and that she expected to be able to ski in the Olympics. That seems dubious to me.

Random Celebrity News

For some values of random, celebrity and news. It's been a while and there's been a bit of build up in my digital fridge. At the Fiction Horizon, Sydney Sweeney Sparks Backlash After Cozy Moment With Freed Israeli Hostages Leaves Fans Divided.

"Sydney Sweeney is facing strong reactions online after meeting with two Israelis who were previously held hostage by Hamas. The moment came to light after pro-Israel advocacy group StandWithUs shared a photo of the actress standing with Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or. According to the group, the pair were taken during the October 7, 2023 attacks and later freed from Gaza in June 2024 during an Israeli military operation. In the photo posted by StandWithUs, Sweeney stands between them, smiling, with her arms placed behind their backs.
. . .
not everyone reacted positively. Many users criticized Sweeney for appearing with a group tied to pro-Israel advocacy. Others brought up her rumored connection to music executive Scooter Braun, who has previously helped raise funds for both Israeli hostage families and Palestinians in Gaza. One comment simply read, “Ewww.” Another said, “That’s the disappointment of the year.”

During the Internet Invitational, a Barstool Sports-sponsored golf tournament featuring 48 influencers competing for a $1 million prize, Spiranac was caught on camera during the final match brushing down tall grass in the rough. The move helped improve the lie for her teammate Malosi Togisala.

From Atop Da Hill, Lady Gaga Suffered Psychotic Break After Filming ‘A Star Is Born. How could she tell?

Lady Gaga says she had a “psychotic break” after filming “A Star is Born.” In an interview published Thursday by Rolling Stone, the “Abracadabra” singer said she was on lithium while filming the Bradley Cooper-directed movie to treat and prevent manic episodes.

Once the movie finished filming, Gaga went on a world tour to support her “Joanne” album, where she said that her mental health had taken an extreme hit.

“There was one day that my sister said to me, ‘I don’t see my sister anymore.’ And I canceled the tour,” the singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, told the publication. “There was one day I went to the hospital for psychiatric care. I needed to take a break.”

Mike Cantrell at PJM hears  Billionaire Elon Musk Strikes Back Against Billie Eilish for Calling Him 'Pathetic Pu**y' Maybe, but he's a rich pathetic pussy.

Billionaire Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk struck back at pop superstar Billie Eilish after she recently launched an unhinged rant against him, calling him a “f***ing pathetic p***y b***h coward” for not bankrupting himself to help the poor. Eilish should probably stick to making music, because her foray into politics continues to make her look painfully uneducated.
. . .
On Monday evening, Musk responded to Eilish’s comments, saying, "She's not the sharpest tool in the shed." When the topic is politics, especially poverty, the issues run far deeper than the singer understands. First of all, while the rich certainly should, morally speaking, use their wealth to improve the world around them, that moral duty doesn’t require them to support someone from cradle to grave.

Alyssa Spivack is an Argentinian social media influencer, model, and BKFC ring girl. She is also a licensed Florida realtor and an ambassador for companies like Fashion Nova and Impossible Kicks. Currently, she has over 219k followers on Instagram and over 156.9k followers on TikTok. Recently, during an “Ask me anything” interaction with her followers, Spivack was asked, “What’s it like working for Conor?” She replied, “I love working with BKFC! @thenotoriousmma definitely brings an incredible energy to the fights that is totally unmatched! Always a fun time.”

McGregor uses his flamboyant style and social media presence to promote BKFC fights and events. Mike Cantrell again,  Actress Raises Concern With Nude Content, Erratic Behavior in Strange Social Media Posts. Since when is that unusual in Hollywood?

Actress Taryn Manning, most well known for her role in the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, is causing concern among many of her fans after she posted a bunch of naked images and videos that also show her exhibiting bizarre behavior. For a lot of folks, it echoes the weird content pop sensation Britney Spears has posted on Instagram in recent years, worrying fans that Manning might be heading straight into a serious mental health crisis.

Things took a strange turn on Monday, when Manning posted a video on Instagram of herself dancing around barefoot with her breasts playing peek-a-boo from within an unbuttoned shirt. Not long after the initial clip, she posted another, this time doing a strip tease and ditching her top completely. She captioned the video, "We have zero control of the outcome. Your birthday suit is yours. Remember we only became self-conscious after EVE messed up. Go back to the roots. Be free again."

The Jerusalem Post admires how Scarlett Johansson refused to remove Holocaust plot from Eleanor the Great. Good for her. It must be nice to have FU money.

Scarlett Johansson, whose films have grossed more than those of any other actress in history, put her clout to good use to save Eleanor the Great, her directorial debut, after a backer pulled out at the last minute, demanding that she change the Holocaust storyline that is central to the plot.

The movie stars 96-year-old June Squibb, who plays the best friend of a Holocaust survivor and who finds an unusual way to honor the memory of her friend’s family: Stumbling into a Holocaust survivor’s group, Eleanor pretends that the survival story is hers. In an interview with The Telegraph done at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film had its world premiere, and published ahead of the film’s UK premiere, Johansson said that with just weeks to go before filming began, a backer demanded that the Holocaust references be cut, or they would pull their funds.

The article quotes Johansson as saying, “I mean, if they’d said, ‘I’ll only back this if you shoot in New Jersey,’ or ‘We need to get this done by the spring’, then that would have been one thing. But they were objecting to what the film actually was. It had to be about what happens when someone gets caught in the worst lie imaginable; if not the Holocaust, then what could it be? They offered no alternative. It was just, ‘This is an issue.’”

How about our agenda is take care of each other? I know [socialism] doesn’t work perfectly, or that people understand what the word actually means. For me, it’s taking care of each other. If I have more money, I can spend more money on other people" https://variety.com/2025/film/news"

From NYPo, Zoe Saldaña sparks backlash for claiming her ‘Avatar’ character is ‘racist’ Everything is racist. Even blue aliens.

Zoe Saldaña made a bold statement about her “Avatar” character, Neytiri. “Let’s face it, Neytiri’s a racist,” the actress, 47, said in a recent interview with CinemaBlend while promoting “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” “And she just… and she loses sight because of this blind fury that she has,” Saldaña continued.

The Oscar winner explained how Neytiri’s behavior affects her relationship with Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington. “She loses sight that the person that she loves the most and respects the most in her life is her husband, and he is human, he’s a sky-person and I think it takes a lot of courage for Jake to be honest with her and to force her — even knowing that she is broken, that he knows that she needs to face this, because he sees in the direction that she’s heading and I think it’s much more familiar to him where Neytiri’s heading than for Neytiri herself,” she said.

Pop Culture, Kate Hudson Responds After Being Called ‘Monster’ by Real-Life Son of ‘Song Sung Blue’ Musician. Really, all she does is read the script.

Kate Hudson is weighing in after being called a “monster” by the real-life son of Song Sung Blue musician Mike Sardina. The actress, who plays Claire Sardina opposite Hugh Jackman’s Mike in the true story of Neil Diamond cover band Lightning & Thunder, has responded to criticism from Mike’s son, Michael Sardina Jr., who told the Daily Mail that the film is “all lies” and that he was “purposely cut out of the film,” despite being paid to consult on it.

“Honestly, I don’t even know — out of respect for our filmmakers, I’m not the right person to speak to it,” Hudson told The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview, adding that she had gotten to know the real-life Claire throughout the process: “I’m so happy that I got to know Claire, who’s such a wonderful woman, and she’s so happy with the movie.”
