Flotsam and Jetsam - New Jersey Registered 6600 Illegals to Vote

We're still dwelling on President Trump's speech on election integrity and the fallout thereof. CNN's Michael Smerconish hosted at Hat Hair, 'If It's Newsworthy Enough to Rebut, It's Worth Airing' From TownHall, Trump Was Right: NJ Gov. Mikie Sherrill Forced to Eat Crow Over Massive Voter Registration Error. Sundance at CTH sees New Jersey Governor Admits Over 6,000 Illegal Aliens Were Registered to Vote in Motor-Voter System Between 2023 and 2024r. Ace, Software "Glitch" in Democrat-Riddled NJ Allows That Thing the Media Democrat Party Says Never Happens to Happen 6600 Times, "A "glitch" permitted 6,600 illegal aliens to sign up to vote, and we know at least 400 did illegally vote. Deb Heine at AmGreatness," and cites JTN's John Solomon: The Same Media Who Proclaimed That China's Theft of 40 Million Voter Records from the UK Was a Major Breach Now Says That China's Hacking of 220 Million American Voter Files is NBD. Dave Catron at Am Spec sees Mail-In-Voting: Appeals Court Hands Trump Big Win "The court ruled that the USPS may require states to turn over voter rolls before mailing out ballots." Flopping Aces @FloppingAces, "The D.C. Circuit didn’t rule that fraud happened. It ruled that freezing a basic ballot-tracking rule would cause irreparable harm before the November election. Read that again. A federal appeals court just said the administration needs time to implement serialized barcodes and voter-list submissions for mail-in ballots. Not mass purges. Not voter ID theater. Simple chain-of-custody tools so the Postal Service can track what it carries. And the reaction? Full institutional meltdown..." Bob Hoge at RedState wonders What Are They So Afraid Of? CA AG Bonta's Slippery Title Switch Tries to Kneecap Voter ID Measure. Larry Correia @monsterhunter45, "The thousands of comments on my voter fraud post remind me of one very important thing. The issue isn't about Trump. It is about the perception of the citizens. But they need to make it about Trump. It is difficult to dismiss the valid concerns of millions of nervous or angry citizens. It is easy to dismiss one guy as a sore loser and make the whole thing about his ego. Hence any discussion of this topic inevitably devolves into them fixating on Trump and the details surrounding one election and one moment in time, and ignoring everything else in the universe, up to and including fundamental human nature (as in some people cheat)." Christian Heiens @ChristianHeiens, "If given enough time, the rules will always be gamed in order to subvert the game itself and defeat the purpose of the contest in the first place. This is inevitable because the rewards are too great. The point is never to have a good time or even to entertain the audience. The point is to win. So the rules will be maliciously “followed”, even as the animating spirit behind them dies. This tweet isn’t about basketball."

RealRobert @Real_RobN, "And here it is… USAID more than doubled its spending on Brazil as soon as Bolsonaro won the 2018 election. This wasn’t because Brazil suddenly needed twice the aid; the money was spent on operations aimed at overthrowing the Brazilian government. The 2022 Brazilian election was stolen from Bolsonaro just as the 2020 U.S. election was stolen from Donald Trump and from Kari Lake in 2022, with USAID and the CIA involved in installing election-rigging machines that Brazilians didn’t even want..." NOELREPORTS @NOELreports, "Russia's Defense Ministry recruited just over 8,000 drone operators for its Unmanned Systems Forces in the first half of the year, despite an annual target of 78,800. Analysts calculated that recruitment should have reached about 34,400 by then, leaving the ministry at roughly a quarter of its planned pace. Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko reported the figures."

But this is in conflict with their objective of making many more activities illegal." Under real socialism, the penalty is often death. Nate Hochman @njhochman, "One of the many explosive revelations in this new State Department report is that the Venceremos Brigade—which has brought 10,000+ American left-wing activists to Cuba, including high-profile Democratic politicians like LA Mayor Karen Bass—was built and run by actual Cuban spies." Clay Travis @ClayTravis, "This is important. The far left in this country is mostly made up of people who spent a ton on their degrees and can’t make back what they spent. As a result, they hate capitalism." Quote Nate Silver @NateSilver538, "Income and education are usually positively correlated. But sometimes the relationship breaks down. Three tankers loaded with Saudi crude bound for China and one for India have made U-turns in the Red Sea and are now aborting their transit through the Bab El-Mandeb. 4 additional tankers turning north in the Red Sea have been identified as Agios Gerasimos, MICA, NAVIG8 Express, and Trust." Quote Martin Kelly @_MartinKelly_ "At least 4 (there are more) ships, including 3 Chinese VLCCs have aborted transit via the Bab al Mandeb after the Houthis implemented a blockade on Saudi ports. Gill has a very well-planned set of question designed to destroy Hartig, and Hartig's defense is almost entirely restricted to long silences and diligent note-taking, as if she's endeavoring to learn from Gill." Eric Daugherty @EricLDaugh, "OMG. Brutal moment as Rep. Brandon Gill embarrasses Smithsonian Director Hartig with this line of questioning GILL: Is it important to be polite? Flotsam and Jetsam - Time for Escape from New York?

This post inadvertently left in draft until this morning; I thought I'd just put it out there anyway.

In the wake of the Marxist's victories in NYC, Derek Hunter says Let New York Suffer. That's pretty much my take too. NYC has gone through these cycles before, electing wreckers before waking up and electing somebody to clean up. If they fail to do the latter this time, oh well. We don't really need it as a thriving financial hub anymore, it's all being done on the internet. Just don't force us to pay the bill. The Manhattan Contrarian notices In New York, The Democrats Go Completely Crazy. Nate Silver @NateSilver538, "Depending on the definition, maybe 3-5% of the US population is smart but seriously mentally unstable. That group heavily selects into politics, though. So maybe you're getting more like 10-15% among certain political types. That's enough to have a real influence on movements." Insty quips HONESTLY, THAT’S A LOWBALL NUMBER I THINK. Twitchy hears No Money for Schools? Mary Katharine Ham Schools the Commie on NYC's $40K-Per-Student Disaster Mary Katharine Ham @mkhammer, "“No money for schools.” NYC has a $43 billion dollar school system whose funding has gone up as enrollment has gone down. It has the highest per-student expenditure in the nation of up to $40K a year. 28-29% of students test proficient in math and reading (NAEP)." Quote Marco Foster @MarcoFoster_ "Darializa Avila Chevalier: “What we need is a mentality of people over profit. You can’t tell me there is no money for schools, there’s no money to address childhood poverty, there’s no money to address this housing crisis, while voting time and time again to send billions to a war machine to a country that’s currently enacting a genocide”"

Erick Florack calls Joe Biden The Perfect Symbol of Today's Democrat Party. Hat Hair's John Sexton manages some faux tears over Scott Wiener's Struggle Sessions. Shipwreckedcrew says The Supreme Court Produced No High Profile Decisions Last Week -- So Lets Look At "Dead Man Walking" Graham Platner in Maine. No wait, that other thing. Terrible! That’s it." Mark Tapscott at Insty, WHEN REALITY BITES … NEWSOM: "He mocked Justice Alito’s majority opinion in the Supreme Court’s Hawaii decision on individuals carrying firearms in public. Hat Hair cites Kaitlyn Schallhorn from Orange County Register "(I Dunno - Top Chef?) What’s Next for Katie Porter After Ca Gov Loss?" She's so well known for her "special" mashed potatoes. Cathy Salgado at PJM hears Hilton: Audio Seems to Capture Becerra Detailing an 'Assembly Line' for Migrant Children. Wall Street Apes @WallStreetApes, "Leaked recording of Xavier Becerra at HHS under Biden saying he was putting illegal migrant children “in an assembly line” He clearly says the American people will be upset knowing how much Democrats were spending on children who shouldn’t even be here in America, and he’s instructing his staff to place them as quickly as they can without doing the proper checks How is this guy not rotting in prison “This is not the way you do an assembly line” “We need to get discharges up — Every time we have to go to the Hill and explain why we're spending so much money when most people are struggling to spend a little bit of money for their kids on a daily basis, we try to explain how we're spending more than $1,000 a day for kids who may not even have the legal right to be here” This is your reminder he was also called out in official testimony for placing children with sponsors using strip clubs as addresses Arrest him." Jen O'Connell at RedState sees Karen Bass Blames Environmental Racism For Boyle Heights, Spencer Pratt Nails Her to the Wall. Spencer Pratt @spencerpratt "Toxic soil, 6,000 homes destroyed, 12 people burned alive, 400+ excess deaths from toxic smoke exposure…but that was in the Palisades, so who cares about us, right? No, THIS is a turning point. This one structure fire. What a soulless goblin Karen is." Sundance at CTH has Ohio Governor with Deep Personal Ties to “Shithole Country”, Says It’s More Important to Protect Haitians Than Americans and on Sunday Talks – Jake Tapper Laments Deportation for Haitian and Syrian Migrants. Cathy Salgado likes how Brandon Gill Shows How Dems Used Temporary Protected Status to Change Red States. Steve Cortes @CortesSteve, "Exactly correct — the hordes of Third World “temporary” migrants did not settle in tony Ruling Class enclaves. They were sent to working class communities like Charleroi, PA, which I profiled as the town struggled to deal with the influx…" Quote Brandon Gill @realBrandonGill, "By the way, many of the Haitians who were given TPS under Joe Biden did not come from Haiti. They were living in nations like Brazil and Chile and came here to take advantage of Biden's open border. They were sent, not to Martha's Vineyard or Sherman Oaks, but to blue collar, midwestern towns like Springfield, Ohio. And the people there were called racist for objecting to the culture of the town they built being fundamentally changed overnight."

Flotsam and Jetsam - Hot Summer Day

And the country is getting ready for its 250th birthday tomorrow. The Victory Girls say Dear Democrats: Our National Party is Still On — Shut Up and STAY HOME and note Independence Day Gone Woke In San Diego County, California. Sounds like a blast! Beege Welborn at Hat Hair notes Anti-Trump States Wouldn't Fix Up Booths for the Fair - PA AMERICANs Took Matters Into Their Own Hands. Sore losers. Dr. Suneel Dhand's Newsletter gives 10 Reasons I'm PROUD to Be an American, "I left Britain and have been a citizen for over 10 years. Best thing I've ever done. An honest reflection this special July 4th." OTH, Hat Hair's John Sexton reports Man Charged with Felony for Damaging Reflecting Pool. "David Hearn, 67, of Maryland faces one felony count of destruction of property tied to a June 19 incident in which National Park Service employees say they caught him trying to rip a portion of sealant from the pool’s bottom. The charge carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison." It's DC, he won't be convicted. And at WaEx, Airman arrested during Capitol Hill protest urging Trump and Vance’s impeachment. "A Capitol Police spokesperson confirmed Watson’s arrest, noting that there are spots on Capitol Grounds where demonstrating is permitted, but “it is generally against the law for the public to demonstrate on the House Steps unless they are with a Member of Congress.” “Yesterday afternoon, a man was escorted to the House Steps by a Member of Congress,” the spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. “When the Member of Congress left the area, our officers gave the man lawful orders to stop the illegal demonstration or he would be arrested. The man refused our lawful orders. Jason Watson was then arrested for 22-1307 Crowding, Obstructing, and Incommoding.”" So he wasn't arrested for his speech denouncing Trump, he was arrested for unlawful conduct at the Capital, like the J6ers. I'm sure Pete Hegseth has plenty of grounds to toss him out of the Air Force, though. A Larry vid at Hat Hair says This Was All Trump Needed. They're Gonna Regret It.

At the Buckeye Firearms Assoc, Trump reiterates support for national right-to-carry reciprocity. As a fairly liberal New Yorker, I suspect Trump personally doesn't fell strongly pro-gun, but he knows his coalition. Mary Chastain is pleased to report the Energy Dept. is Moving to Drop ‘Green New Scam’ Appliance Mandates. "Thank you. THANK YOU. Make it happen!"

Hat Hair's Capt. Ed is worried that the US Adds Only 57,000 Jobs in June As Workforce Deflates. I gave up trying to make sense out of job numbers a while ago. The methodology is shitty, and manipulative. I also wonder how much of this is due to the ongoing self-deportation of illegals. The Wall Street Journal thinks it is.

Jenna’s Side is America Doesn't Have a Socialist Problem—We Have an Apathy Problem. "And apathy is how tiny, terrifying, highly motivated minorities end up running cities." At Hat Hair Dave Strom thinks Socialism in the West is Ignorance, Unearned Wealth, and Resentment,  Yes, The DSA Is a Communist Organization and Beege Welborn adds Commie Mamdani's Pied-à-Terre Billionaire Tax Attack Began Yesterday. Althouse notes "The DSA, in fact, seems to despise the Democratic Party. Darializa Avila Chevalier has called Joe Biden a 'rapist' and wrote 'Fuck Kamala Harris'...", ""... on social media. She proceeded to be nominated for a House race in New York last week by Democratic voters who presumably do not all share those feelings."  At Reason Kennedy recalls New York's Socialist Experiment Already Failed Once "Will Mamdani break New York City?" Leslie Eastman at LI hears NYC Mayor Mamdani’s Recommendation for ’78 Degrees’ Met with Frosty Reception. "The responses to his “78 degrees” suggestion included references to France and New York’s embrace of “Green Energy”." Capt. Ed hears from Fetterman: The One Thing That Would Force Me Out Of My Party Is ... being anti-Israel. Aren't we there already? Dave Strom thinks it might be AOC vs Vance?

Bonchie @bonchieredstate, "Every time. It’s never organic." Quote AG @AGHamilton29, "This is a major red flag. The CCP is funding/aiding left-wing groups and activism to try to push policies that discourage us developing energy independence."

From DataRepublican’s Substack, The 400,000 USAID Deaths That Nicholas Kristof Will Not Tell You About. "How USAID Built the South Sudan, Watched It Collapse, and Then Allowed China to Take Over."

Eric at Security and Cigars, explains Why Wolford Should Worry Big Gov Fans More Than Slaughter. "SCOTUS has now made clear that states and cities cannot simply designate broad categories of private property as “sensitive” and thereby ban the exercise of constitutional rights there. This has obvious and immediate implications for the Second Amendment, but it also reaches into First Amendment territory like speech, religion, and assembly. As well as many other rights protected by the Constitution." Charles C. W. Cooke @charlescwcooke, "Impressive ignorance. The unitary executive theory is about personnel; it confers no substantive powers on the executive branch that haven’t been delegated by Congress. The whole column is a bizarre non sequitur." Quote Dana Milbank @Milbank, "My latest column looks at how Democrats are drafting plans to to use the all-powerful, unitary executive that Trump has established (and the Roberts Court has blessed) to launch a new Progressive Era, in which a Democratic president imposes by executive fiat government-run health." At Da Caller, Clarence Thomas Laughs As MS NOW Reporter Barrages Him With Questions. Althouse says I don't believe Nina Totenberg's explanation for why she reported that Justice Alito was retiring. "I'm reading "'I am so, so sorry': NPR reporter explains SCOTUS retirement error" (CNN): "Say what really happened, " and "Democrats stopped talking about trans politics long before the court’s ruling this week." ""In June, which is L.G.B.T.Q. Pride month, no Democratic candidate mentioned the word 'transgender' in their TV ads, according to data from AdImpact, a media tracking firm. Their silence may be an attempt to deprive Republicans of campaign-trail ammunition.... A New York Times/Ipsos poll conducted in January 2025 showed that nearly 80 percent of Americans opposed allowing transgender athletes to participate in women’s sports...." At substact Insty recommends Ditching the Seventeenth. "Taking the Senate back to the Framers' Intent." Let State Legislators pick Senators? We could do worse, and have.

Gina Milan @ginamilan_ "Ruh Rho" Quote Paul Sperry @paulsperry_, "BREAKING: Here's the just-filed NLPC bar complaint against NY attorney Roberta Ann Kaplan. The basis for the complaint is that Kaplan failed to inform Trump’s lawyers + the court when she knew her client E. Jean Carroll provided false testimony by denying outside funding for her."

TownHall's Amy Curtis reports More Antifa Terrorists Were Just Sentenced in Texas "Antifa and their Leftist allies in the Democratic Party were not happy about these sentences. They really believed they were above the law, and are threatening the federal judges who put their comrades behind bars." Bob Spencer at PJM says Bravo: DeSantis Officially Calls Antifa and CAIR What They Really Are, terrorists.

Dave Strom takes a look at The Immigrants Who Hate America. Libs of TikTok @libsoftiktok, "BREAKING: The Somali flag flying over Buffalo City Hall has been reportedly STOLEN just hours after it was raised. Flotsam and Jetsam - Supes Rule Prez can Fire Any Agency Head Except Fed

A number of case came down from on high at the Supreme Court yesterday, and it was a mixed bag for the President (as it usually is). The court ruled in Trump v. Slaughter and Trump v Wilcox that the President was free to fire the head of any executive agency, including those the Congress attempted to designate as "independent", but quickly tempered that by ruling in Trump v Cook that Trump could not fire Janet Cook from the Federal Reserve board without some kind of due process. Weird, but as my Daddy used say, consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. In Watson v. RNC they also ruled that states could count mail-in ballot that arrived after election day, as long as they were postmarked by election day. Althouse spent the day Waiting on the Supreme Court. I didn't. Capt. Ed at Hat Hair VIP, SCOTUS Slaughters Humphrey's Executor – But the Fed ... Oilfield Rando @Oilfield_Rando, "In a stunning blow to Our Democracy™, SCOTUS has ruled that unelected bureaucrats can’t do whatever they want and run federal agencies like their personal fiefdoms in perpetuity," Quote Benjamin Ryan @benryanwriter, "NEWS: Supreme Court overrules a 90-year-old precedent and frees the president to fire independent agency heads The Supreme Court ruled today that President Trump can remove Federal Trade Commission members at will, and in doing so it overruled Humphrey's Executor, the 1935 decision that has protected independent agencies for nine decades. The case is Trump v. Slaughter, and it reshapes the federal bureaucracy..." Sundance at CTH, Supreme Court Rules 6-3 That President Can Remove Any Agency Head in Executive Branch.
