Flotsam and Jetsam - Sun Comes Up, It's Tuesday Morning

And not a lot of material! Maybe I didn't keep up with the reading. From Althouse, "They were going to build an F.B.I. headquarters three hours away in Maryland, a liberal state. We’re going to stop it.", "Said Trump, last year, quoted in "Judge Rules Trump Administration Can’t Scrap F.B.I. Move to Maryland/The ruling is almost certainly not the end of the lengthy fight over the F.B.I.’s future headquarters, which has lasted for years" (NYT gift link). In a 47-page ruling, Judge Theodore Chuang of the Federal District Court in Maryland wrote that “the F.B.I. erroneously concluded” that it could select a new headquarters for itself without consulting Congress. In reality, Judge Chuang wrote, Congress had already approved the Biden administration plan for the F.B.I. to move to Maryland...." Of course, it's nowhere near 3 hours from DC to Greenbelt, except when traffic snarls (not all that uncommon). I don't care, move the seat of government to Fargo, ND, just to see who really wants to be there.

Red State's Teri Christoph is happy to report Trump Humiliates Obnoxious CNN Reporter After Oval Office Outburst: Ouch! Rapid Response 47 @RapidResponse47, "@POTUS: "You're very disrespectful in front of this young man... You're a loud, boisterous person. You're Fake News. Be quiet. Be quiet. Be quiet. You're a fake reporter and you report FAKE NEWS." I don't think they're capable of shame.

At TownHall Matt Vespa thinks You Won't Believe It, A John Cornyn Staffer Pulled a Benedict Arnold Move. Here's His New Boss, James Talarico campaign. How to admit you have no sincere beliefs in one easy career move. John Waters at RC History, looks at The Next American Right.  "Today, the insurgency has won. What remains is not a bold, dramatic second act, but the far more familiar (and mundane) work of routine governance. We have entered the revolution’s mopping-up phase."

Vicky Taft at PJM asserts Trump's Messaging on the Mullahs Could Be as Powerful as a GBU-57. A bomb is only as good as it's aim. Victory Girls sees Iran Move To Crack Down On Civilians And Survive The Midterms. Armed Forces Press is angry the Media is Pushing the Carrier Crew Mental Health Story As Iran Blockade Is Working. From Althouse, "I just do not understand the mentality. If this is a representation of who our military is now… we’re just Rome sitting here waiting to burn. We’ve got nothing left." |From "Fox Host Trashes U.S. Sailors as ‘Weak’ for Speaking Out About Dire Conditions/Fox News host Joey Jones mocked service members speaking out about conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln" (MTN)." At Twitchy, Messages Scrawled on Aircraft Flap by Service Members Show No Morale, Says Iranian Propagandist. Hat Hair's Capt. Ed wonder if it's Mixed Signals or Taqiyya? Hamas Pledges Disarmament As Iran Plots Wider War. TownHalls Matt Vespa looks at That Time Bill Maher Challenged This Former CBS News Anchor to Find a 'Moderate' Muslim.

Drew Bond at Am Mind assures us of America’s Winning Playbook Against China.

Capt. Ed calls it Off the Deep End: Dems Make 'Abolish ICE' Official Position. Matt Yglesias at Slow Boring asserts Woke 1 is dead. We’ve learned nothingDocumenting Saylor @saylordocs, "Javier Milei: “I thought being on the left was a mental problem. The empirical evidence is so overwhelming that it never worked anywhere, and they refused to accept it.” “But what I discovered is that being on the left is a disease of the soul. The left is built on envy, hatred, resentment, and unequal treatment under the law. They are very violent, and since they have no way or arguments to answer, they go for physical violence.”"

Mediaite watches CNN Data Guru Flags ‘Troubling’ Number for Democrats That May Predict Mike Rogers Victory, "Enten noted Rogers is leading El-Sayed by four points overall and five points among independents." But is it outside the margin of fraud?  Capt. Ed calls her the Spitting Image: El-Sayed Sis Charged With Assault on Illinois State Trooper. I hope she got properly thumped. PJM's Chris Queen thinks Jon Ossoff Sure Seems to Think He's the Next Barack Obama.

Bill Melugin @BillMelugin_, "NEW: The company behind a recent poll that showed Karen Bass with a 12-point lead over Nithya Raman for LA mayor & showed Bass collecting most of Spencer Pratt's prior support has admitted their poll was FAKE and was intended as a "social experiment" to see how a poll could spread in the media ecosystem without verification. The company, Median Strategies, also conducted a recent poll in Wisconsin that had socialist gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong up by 20 points. Hong lost her primary. It was all bogus. Wild story via @Noah__Goldberg at LAT." At Althouse, Comedian strategies. So polls are often bogus? Who knew? Now let's not always see the same hands.

Capt. Ed calls it a Bombshell: FBI Knew Swalwell Got Illegal Donations From Fang Fang – and More. Julie Kelly @julie_kelly2, "And Jim Comey’s FBI tried to convert Fang Fang into an FBI informant. That should tell us something about the CHS program under Comey." Quote John LeFevre @JohnLeFevre, "The FBI framed a sitting US President for treason, dropped an investigation into Eric Swalwell for having an illicit affair with a Chinese spy, planted fake stories with the media and FISA court, and forced Big Tech to censor critics to influence the 2020 election." Western Lensman @WesternLensman22h, "Fang Fang once approached Victor Davis Hanson and tried to work her magic. VDH: “You would have to be a stupid, narcissistic idiot to fall for that." He's talking about Eric Swalwell."

At NYPo, A liberal journalist just exposed lying Fauci’s toxic relationship with the media. Exposed is a little strong, affirms comes closer.

At Insty, Driscoll is still following the strange case of Dr. Arday, JULIE BURCHILL: "The True Tragedy of the Death of Jason Arday." Hat Hair's Dave Strom believes Racism Did Not Kill Jason Arday

Internewscast reports Harvard Professor Faces Backlash for Allegedly Using AI to Draft Anti-Trump Op-Ed. At least he didn't plagiarize it; there are plenty of templates to follow. Dave Strom wonders, rhetorically, How Endemic Is Fraud in Prestige Academia? Pretty endemic, I know of a few cases in my field, but it's exponentially worse in the "soft sciences" because the consequences are so low. Capt. Ed asks Has Texas Succeeded in Decolonizing Academia? It's doubtful. Hat Hair's Beege Welborn notes that When Even Basic Fractions Are a Math Problem Too Far for College Students. Sadly, my own math skills have begun to degrade from disuse.

Dave Strom hears Don't Say Sophie! Libs of TikTok @libsoftiktok, "Atlanta Dream refused to stand on the court for the National Anthem and then honored Stacey Abrams They ended up LOSING to Indiana Fever 95-91 Lmaooo." BrickCenter @BrickCenter_, "WNBA security told 2 fans to cover their “XX/XY” and “For the girls” shirts or LEAVE the Fever-Dream game. Meanwhile, a “Protect Trans Rights” shirt was featured on the Jumbotron." And Deconstructing Deconstructionism: Royce White and Enes Freedom Tying WNBA Into Knots "Defenders of the WNBA are pointing out, I assume rightly, that the two are just pretending to be women and therefore have no business being in the WNBA. Enes Kantor Freedom and Royce White, on the other hand, are demonstrating by persisting in their efforts that the same is true for every other man who is pretending to be a woman, and they, too, have no business being in women's sports."

Flotsam and Jetsam - The Wisconsin Autopsy Continues

We're still digesting the results of Tuesday's primaries. Teri Christoph at RedState hears Voter Data Was Missing From 5 Milwaukee USB Sticks — Then WI's Election Night Got Even Weirder. So, were the polls wrong, and Hong wasn't as popular as believed, or did the DNC-E step in and rig the results? Kurt Schlichter at TownHall VIP says Ignore the Poll Dancers. Ben Shapiro @benshapiro, "We're watching an enormous misread of the results from Wisconsin. The dumb take is that the DSA has reached its ceiling, and the establishment is fighting back. That's totally wrong. The normie Dems are simply negotiating the terms of their surrender. Those terms are obvious: the Democratic Party will ingest and mirror the key precepts of the DSA, and they won't go whole hog against DSA candidates who don't totally say the quiet part out loud. This is why Slotkin didn't endorse Stevens against El-Sayed in Michigan. It's why Schumer and Jeffries didn't endorse Cuomo against Mamdani in NYC. In return, the DSA's most important figures will refrain from endorsing the very worst candidates. This is why Bernie and AOC didn't endorse Hong. If they had, she would have won. The goal of the pact is obvious: candidates who are DSA in all but name, who receive unified Democratic support after the primaries, and who still have a shot at winning a general election. So don't be fooled: the DSA is driving the car, choosing the direction. The normie Dems are just negotiating over the speed." PJM's Rick Moran on Why the Wisconsin Governors' Race Will Define the Midterms for Republicans. Buck Sexton @BuckSexton, "You can get away with saying lots of crazy things in America today, but "let's cancel Thanksgiving" isn't one of them." Quote The Wall Street Journal @WSJ, "David Crowley narrowly won the Democratic nomination for Wisconsin governor, delivering a significant blow to the insurgent far-left in a nail-biter race." Oilfield Rando @Oilfield_Rando, "This keeps happening in places with fiercely contested Democrat primaries because you have two lavishly funded ballot harvesting machines battling each other. We can all see this. We know what’s happening here. And we’re doing nothing about it." Quote Rich Baris THE PEOPLE'S PUNDIT @Peoples_Pundit, "Wisconsin Democrats are CRUSHING Republicans in turnout." MD Kittle at Da Fed reports the Notorious Wisconsin Election Official At Center Of Zuckbucks Scandal Resigns. Hmmm.

At PJM, VodkaPundit looks at Mamdani and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week (and It’s Only Wednesday). From NYPo, Manhattan rents reach all-time high of $6,655/month amid Mamdani’s rent freeze and pied-a-terre tax threat. Batya Ungar-Sargon @bungarsargon, "Who could have predicted that stupid ideas cooked up by rich squatting nepo babies would backfire and hurt struggling working class New Yorkers."

The Patriarch Tree @PatriarchTree, "The Party of College Educated White Folks Craving Swarthy Foreign Guys — it’s not really about health care policy or “affordability” or whatever. @TheDemocrats are now a BDSM cult organized around some kind of weird masochistic Mandingo fetish." Quote Kyle Smith @rkylesmith, "Don't underestimate the value of looks. El-Sayed won in part because he's good-looking. Mamdani won in large part because he's cute. if Francesca Hong looked as good as AOC she would have won. Easily." Eyal Yakoby @EYakoby, "Hasan Piker: “I don't give a f*** what Black people care about.” “Let's go back to a better time, when lynchings were happening.”" Spencer Pratt @spencerpratt, "This is how all DSA people speak in private. Every single one. Communists want to destroy your entire way of life, and they will lie to you and pretend like they're not violent psychopaths. Don't let socialists anywhere near power." At TownHall Matt Vespa notes Not Even Joe Scarborough Could Believe What the DSA Co-Chair Said About Hamas and October 7. At Insty, VodkaPundit adds MAYBE A FEW YEARS HARD LABOR: "No Repentance = No Grace For Woke Bullshit. “There was no ‘Woke 1.0,’ just a continuous racialist, anti-Western Civilization, anti-rational, anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-capitalist, anti-Republican movement whose roots stretch back into the Comintern, Gramsci and the Frankfurt School, carried forward into the Port Huron Statement, the Weather Underground, the campus radicals of the 1960s and their long march through academia and other western institutions... PJM's Vicky Taft hears The Left Is Coming for Your County Sheriff.

From Ace, The FBI and "Intelligence" Agencies Had Intel From 14 Different Sources About the Biden Family's Corruption. Wray Covered It Up and Claimed It Was All "Disinformation" "Christopher Wray was recommended to Trump by Super-Republican Chris Christie. So you know he's a straight shooter." Capt. Ed at Hat Hair has a fainting spell at Pelosi: Biden Declining? Someone Shoulda Said Something! From Tierney's Real News, Laundering Our Tax Dollars. Matt Vespa again, The Initiative That This Top House Republican Said 'There's No Excuse for Delay', fraud. Democrats don't see it as fraud, they see it as constituent services.

Sarah Anderson at PJM has the sads as Karoline Leavitt Resigns as White House Press Secretary, to be with her family. No, really! From Da Signal, Trump Confirms Karoline Leavitt’s White House Departure. It's too bad, I really enjoyed her "no quarters" attitude with the White House press corpse.

Nick Arama at RedState enjoys how Marco Rubio's Hilarious Interaction With His Wife Prompts RFK Jr. to Cap It Off With Perfect Reply. Hat Hair's Beege Welborn is Totally Into the Way the Trump Cabinet Dogs Each Other, Even Over Cats MORE. Buzz Patterson @BuzzPatterson, "This is hysterical. Marco disses RFK for his diet. He’s a Pop- Tart guy. I love this Cabinet! @katiemillerpod RUBIO: “No! This is a CRAZY diet. This is a diet that consists of eating sauerkraut and meat. Now you understand like this is not a sustainable thing. He has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut!” “I'm not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It's ridiculous. I can't do it!” Q: Are you MAHA? RUBIO: “I'm in favor of MAHA. Like I think people should be healthy.” JEANETTE: No, he's not. Q: What's he eat? JEANETTE: Pop-Tarts! RUBIO: The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world.”

Eyal Yakoby @EYakoby, "Cenk Uygur: “Everybody knows it’s just Israel falsifying documents to make it look like Iran is trying to kill Trump.” Amir Hajizadeh, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Aerospace Forces: “We aim to kill Trump.”"

Tyler O'Neil at Da Signal,  Former SPLC CFO Arrested, AG Blanche Confirms "The SPLC faces federal charges of wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering related to its alleged payments to members of the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis, and other groups. While the center claims it was paying informants in order to combat extremism, the Justice Department claims it was propping up the extremism that it claims it exists to oppose. The Justice Department also claims the SPLC opened bank accounts for fictitious entities to funnel cash to the extremists."

At NYPo, the Divine Ms. Devine sees The walls — and evidence — are slowly building around Dr. Anthony Fauci. From the Right Time's Kathy Gyngell, Anthony Fauci: What He Knew, When He Knew It - His AIDS Fearmongering All Over Again, "Fauci's diaries confirm the warnings his critics were demonised and cancelled for raising. But Covid was not the first time this dangerously arrogant doctor had used scaremongering tactics to raise huge amounts of money to fund questionable vaccines."

Shipwreckedcrew lawsplains The Lawfare Over New Postal Rules For Mail-In Ballots Is More Complicated That Most Understand -- You Need A Scorecard To Keep Up. "There are three other cases with District Judges trying to block the Administration but one has gone to the D.C. Circuit where the Administration received a favorable decision." CIS  reports Trump Issues Two New ‘Birthright Citizenship’ Orders, "... inviting challenges the White House will likely relish. Cry ‘Havoc’ and let slip the dogs of law."

At Althouse, "ICE is planning to buy up to $20 million worth of electric gloves designed to allow agents to deliver painful shocks to detainees." "I'm reading "ICE’s new weapon: painful electric shock gloves/The glove is manufactured by a firm called Compliant Technologies" (London Times). The Glove — Generated Low-Output Voltage Emitter — "is not effective through clothing or hair and can be degraded on individuals and animals that are extremely hairy." So what body parts do you grab with your electrified hands? I was able to find what I think is Compliant's manual. My search for "face" only turned up a couple instance of "surface": "Periodic cleaning of the outside surface area of the G.L.O.V.E. SHALL only be done with 'My-Shield' wipes or surface cleaner in order to maintain the warranty on the G.L.O.V.E.""

Eric Kaufmann @epkaufm, "The Jason Arday case 'is an aberration' says Cambridge. Actually it is just the most visible manifestation of a diversity-industrial complex. My @HeterodoxCentre report into UKRI grant funding shows that DEI keywords are up 24 times since 2000 and have doubled since 2020." Garry Kasparov @Kasparov63, "Does anyone believe they don't think they are getting something for their money? Direct interference and propaganda investment are one thing, but this is the longer influence game." Quote Visegrád 24 @visegrad24, "Qatar has become the largest overall donor of U.S. colleges and universities since 1986, with $6.3 billion as of late 2025. Over $2 billion of it flowed from Qatar to the U.S. between 2021 and 2024 alone." Hat Hair's John Sexton hears a Northern Virginia High School Has a Major Antisemitism Problem, Yorktown High. "One male Jewish student reported being repeatedly targeted because he wore a kippah, which a female classmate tried to pull off his head. After a male student called him an antisemitic slur, he began covering his kippah with a baseball cap. A female Jewish student said that she was chased because she was Jewish, and other Jewish students described seeing Nazi salutes, hearing Holocaust jokes, and being told that they belonged in a gas chamber or that “Hitler should have finished the job.”

Flotsam and Jetsam - Back on Track

Well, our visitors left early this morning, and life is back to near normal. I\ll miss the grandkids, but not the furor.

Buck Throckmorton at Ace's MORNING RANT: About that “Bad” Jobs Report Last Week: Private-Sector Jobs Increased, Government Jobs Decreased "This headline from Bloomberg was typical, but at least it did note that concurrent with lost jobs, the unemployment rate actually fell: “U.S. Employers Unexpectedly Shed Jobs; Unemployment Rate Falls” ... This CNBC piece further explains that ”The main reason for the red headline number was a loss of 53,000 government workers.”... Here are a few more headlines about who is losing their jobs in the “Trump economy”..." We need to be careful not to get swayed by headlines that conflate foreigners and government workers losing their jobs with what is going on regarding private-sector hiring of U.S. citizens. There is good news on that front, and it’s getting better."

Eric Daugherty @EricLDaugh, "UPDATE: Geraldo Rivera just got brutally exposed as a massive HYPOCRITE after he said President Trump sending Haitians back to Haiti is "sending them straight to hell" Geraldo Rivera, 2018: "Trump should apologize for calling countries sh*t holes!" Calls Haiti "hell.." gets mad at Trump for basically saying the exact same thing. Liberals have no standards!" Western Lensman @WesternLensman, "Anderson Cooper may take issue with your harsh assessment of Haiti, Geraldo. He did tell Conan how “amazing,” “incredible” and "culturally rich" it is, and that he likes to spend his weekends and vacations there, after all." John Sexton at Hat Hair hears Trump Gets a Win in Lawsuit Against BBC.

From Ace, Trump Settlels In for Long Siege of Iran, "I had hoped for a more "kinetic" operation with Iran done and dusted a year before the mid-terms. But that's now impossible, of course, so a long slow strangulation will do." James E. Thorne@DrJStrategy, "Hormuz Miscalculation Sec Bessent gets it. Iran has mistaken a tactical threat for a durable advantage. By repeatedly signaling its willingness to disrupt the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran hasn’t strengthened its hand, it has accelerated the market’s exit. Capital does not tolerate chokepoints; it routes around them..." Steve Richards at JTN, As Iran war strains high-end munition stocks, Trump administration works to jump start production. "While the Pentagon disputes critical munitions supply concerns, it is working to significantly boost production of the high-end systems and seek out mass produced alternatives." RBe @RBPundit, "Here's the straight answer: "We're not going to tell Iran or anyone else how long they may or may not have to hold out against us." Quote Jim Geraghty @jimgeraghty, "Can We Get a Straight Answer on Our Critical Munitions Stockpiles?" Nick Arama at RedState swears Iran's 'Proof of Life' Video for Supreme Leader Blows Up in Its Face. John Podhoretz @jpodhoretz, "All that's left is the leader's nose. Time to check the cell structure!" Quote Raylan Givens @JewishWarrior13, "JUST IN: Multiple sources inside Iran confirm that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition."

PJM's Stephen Kruiser says I Liked the Dems Better When AOC Was Their Craziest Commie. Capt. Ed at Hat Hair cites AOC: I Don't Know What to Do With That Hat Tossing and Frozen Eggs. Kyle Beckley @Kyle_Beckley, "“The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change. Just kidding, freezing my eggs because I got all the time in the world"" Quote New York Post @nypost, "AOC starts process of freezing her eggs, hints at 2028 mindset: 'I think it's badass.' At Althouse, "I'm not sure why WaPo covered this, but ignored trump wearing a wig that is styled like his mother's hair during her last year of life." "That's the top-rated comment (by far) on the WaPo article, "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she’s freezing her eggs/The Democratic congresswoman, 36, said she made the decision to undergo the fertility procedure to 'feel more in control of my life'" (gift link)." Andrew Kerr @AndrewKerrNC, "“Why isnt AOC married after being engaged to Riley Roberts after 4+ years?” She’s hiding his finances from the public. That’s why. So long as they remain legally unmarried, Roberts’ stock trades remain secret."

Politico whines that Trump and the GOP have a new bogeyman, "Days after Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in the Michigan primary, Trump is homing in on his progressive policies, calling him a “communist” and “man of hate.”" From Ace, Abdul El-Sayed Has Repeatedly Endorsed Book Which Praises Left-Wing Violence and the Nihilistic Destruction of the "Summer of Love;" Also Refuses to Even Stop Campaiging with Hasan "Kill Rick Scott" Piker, "I'm starting to think this son of a terrorist might be pro-terrorism.Jon Levine of Free Beacon..." Sundance at CTH hosts Susan Kokinda Reviewing Abdul El-Sayed From Michigan. From the Victory Girls, Mamdani’s Anti-Rent Advisor Faces Eviction Over Four Years Of Unpaid Rent. Spencer Pratt @spencerpratt, "They’re all like this, BTW. Every single one is a disappointing nepo baby. DSA is if “I HATE YOU DAD” were a political party. Commies are all scammers." Quote New York Post @nypost, "Anti-rent radical and Mamdani pal who is 'squatting' in Brooklyn is Grammy nepo baby." John Sexton at Hat Hair reports a Judge Grants TRO on Mamdani's Pied-À-Terre Tax. AG @AGHamilton29, "An incredibly consistent overlap between the categories of communist activist and privileged rich kids who never held real jobs and have defined their entire lives by their desire to rebel against their rich families." RedState's Sister Toldja hears a New Dem Talking Point on the DSA Emerges, and Francesca Hong Just Demonstrated Why It Won't Work. Ryan King at NYPo reports Talarico previously fought against Texas legislation banning predators from getting cashless bail. Justine Bateman @JustineBateman, "I’ll tell you something about Karen Bass. Three months after she was elected, she spoke at one of the guilds. She clearly knew nothing about the film industry, I mean nothing. It was shocking. At one point she asked that film productions give jobs to homeless people—that this “would really help her out.” What kind of idiot walks into a room of mostly out-of-work people, in an industry that is collapsing upon itself, that does productions with limited time and money where a mistake from an inexperienced worker can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and suggest that unskilled, perhaps drug-addled, clueless homeless people should be employed instead of qualified guild members? ..." LI's Mike LaChance hears from a Former DNC Fundraiser: Major Democratic Donors are Done With Kamala Harris, “Kamala Harris is living in fantasyland… [thinking] that big donors would bet on her again.” At TownHall Matt Vespa hears (and posts) a Black Georgia Voter Tells NYT Reporter What's Wrong With the Dems. It's Brutally Accurate: "I feel like the Democratic people, they just fake. "They tried to do the Megan Thee Stallion thing. That was HORRIBLE. When Harris got Megan Thee Stallion ... What was that!? People can see through the bullsh*t!" Joshua Reed Eakle @JoshEakle, "Oh my God. Watch this interview with Dr. Frances Gill of the Democratic Socialists of America's national political committee. I'm sorry. But putting these people in charge of the Democratic Party will usher in a century of fascist rule."

Sundance reports the FBI Declassifies Investigation of Former AG Jeff Sessions, Codename “March Toll” and Senator Ron Johnson Reveals Fauci Texts and Horrific Vaccine Induced Abortion Rate Hidden Within the Data. From Ace, Fauci Privately Acknowledged the Fake Vaccine Could Cause Miscarriages -- But Denied Any Such Risk Publicly "This is close to murder." "The authors claimed a miscarriage rate of 12.6%, but the raw data revealed an 82% miscarriage rate in women vaccinated during the first trimester. This is consistent with the 81% miscarriage rate noted in the Pfizer 5.3.6 post-market data. These figures mirror the effects of chemical abortion drugs such as RU-486." Among Alex Berenson's Unreported Truths, Tony Fauci appears to have misled Congress in 2024 about his efforts to avoid federal records laws, "Joe Biden's final-day presidential pardon of Fauci will protect him from any potential criminal jeopardy for the episode, but it shows why he may be so reluctant to testify now." At Da Caller, Rand Paul Fires Back After Progressive Writer Questions His Medical Credentials. "You know who isn't a doctor? Rand Paul isn't, and RFK Jr isn't, you stuporous dope. https://t.co/bICmflrCuF— John Pavlovitz (@johnpavlovitz) August 7, 2026" "Paul answered directly the following day. “I’m literally an MD. I operate on eyeballs,” the senator wrote on his verified account."

At Law and Liberty, Josh Blackmun tells A Tale of Two Chiefs "There is Chief Justice Roberts, the institutionalist, who strategically guides the Supreme Court by not deciding more than is necessary to decide. Then there is Chief Justice Roberts, the institutionalist, who strategically guides the Supreme Court by deciding more than is necessary to decide. Which Roberts do we get in each case? This tale of two chiefs depends entirely on whether Roberts determines the decision will lead to the best of times or the worst of times. If the Chief fears rough roads ahead, less will be decided. If the Chief sees smooth sailing, more will be decided. No more, no less."

From Fox, DHS reports over 1.4M illegal alien departures since January 2025. Jason Cohen @JasonJournoDC, "NEW: John Fetterman to WaPo: "Without a doubt, the Democratic Party, we DESTROYED our border! 11 million migrants thru the Biden Admin. When you have 300,000 showing up at the border, that's the size of Pittsburgh .... EVERY month! And Democrats pretended that it's all good." Balmer Sun, Judge reinstates Howard County ICE facility permit. "Judge says county’s ban on private immigration detention centers cannot be enforced." From PM, Iranian sex offender able to vote without ID in Michigan: OMG, "O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) journalists reportedly investigated two Michigan registered voters whose noncitizen status was identified through Department of Homeland Security (DHS) records." Hat Hair's Beege Welborn say aww, The Euro Mean Girls Are Ganging Up on Pedro Sanchez.

At UnHerd, Jason Arday taught me. Here’s what I learned "The song lyrics were the first red flag. The way he’d ramble about Tinie Tempah or Eminem, or how black artists like Beyoncé were sexualized by white men, without offering any evidence to substantiate his claims. Or else there were the film clips, from Fish Tank and Kidulthood, which he’d tell us to discuss without offering guidance on how to do so. And this was if he was even in the classroom at all. He often arrived late and left early, once teaching for a single hour when four were scheduled." Ace, Surprise! Jason Arday Was Also a Shit "Teacher;" Did Not Teach Actual Academic Subjects, Just Riffed About Racism and Popular Music In Every "Class." John McWhorter @JohnHMcWhorter, "My take on the Arday debacle. Elevator pitch version: 1) Arday is typical of a thriving alternate-universe academia elevating performance art over curiosity; 2) the "anti-racist" people who supported him are either bigots or caught up in recreational tribalism."Saul Sadka @Saul_Sadka, "My advance copy of Professor Jason Arday’s new book just arrived, courtesy of Simon & Schuster. Can’t wait to dig in, but here’s a taste from the first page to whet your appetite: “All this happened, more or less. It was the best of times; it was the worst of times: a bright, cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen. Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again, where Mrs Dalloway said she would buy the flowers herself—for Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins, my sin, my soul. But 124 was spiteful, full of a baby’s venom. I am a sick man. I am a spiteful man. I am an unattractive man.”" At Ombre de Oliver, The Racists Who Enabled Jason Arday, "Can you say "soft bigotry of low expectations." Eric Rasmusen at Ras-Stak, Who Hired the Ridiculous Jason Arday at Cambridge? I Have the Names. "This is not a lightweight panel. Zembylas has the most citations; all have a proper scholarly record in education, sociology, history. So did they read the work? And if they did how could they persuade themselves it was of the level appropriate for a Cambridge chair?" Saul Sadka @Saul_Sadka, "The greatest secret of the social sciences is that nobody reads any of this stuff. It's all just busy work to keep a giant grift going, so you can have typos in the title of your PhD dissertation and nobody will notice until you have a plagiarism scandal." As I've said all along.

From Campus Reform, Trump administration defends Harvard funding freeze as ACLU-led coalition backs university on appeal, "The administration argues Harvard failed to address anti-Semitism and other institutional concerns before nearly $2.2 billion in federal research funding was frozen." Graphs about Religion finds Finance Majors Go to Church. English Majors Don't. "The Stereotypes About Which Majors Are Religious and Conservative Turn Out to Be Mostly True."

Ace, Black WNBA Thug Who Clotheslined Sophie Cunniningham Says Her Ejection for the Flargrant Foul Is Just "White Privilege;" Male NBA Stars Announce They're Gals Now and Intend to Try Out for the WNBA "It's "white privilege" to eject someone for a flagrant foul because, of course, blacks are permitted to take Street Reparations against white people when they feel like it." Matt Vespa sees Dijonai Carrington Tried to Explain Her 'White Privilege' Tweet. It Didn't Go Well. Virginia Kruta at Da Wire, Sophie Cunningham Smacks Down Opponent’s ‘White Privilege’ Comment. "There's no reason to even play that card." Stephen Kruiser thinks Sophie Cunningham Triggered an Avalanche of Bluff-Calling for the WNBA. Matt Walsh @MattWalshBlog, "It really is incredible that there’s just outright racial violence happening in the WNBA. Every men’s professional sports league has black and white players and they aren’t having these problems. Remember this the next time a feminist tells you women should rule the world because they’re more peaceful and empathetic or whatever." Julie Frost--That Werewolf Writer @JulieCFrost, "Kareem might have a point if anyone could name a single other WNBA player." Flotsam and Jetsam - More Fauci Follies Follow

The last honest lawyer, Jonathan Turley notices The Media Takes the Fifth and Denounces Those Questioning Fauci as an “Assault on Science.” Sundance at CTH hosts Sunday Talks – CNN’s Dana Bash Beclowns Herself Defending Fauci, Censorship, Govt Fraud and Weaponizing Viruses, During Confrontation with HHS Secretary RFK Jr. At Althouse, RFK Jr. excoriates Dana Bash: "You're talking nonsense. You're making assertions. You can't support it. And then when I call you on them, they're you're telling me I'm arguing...." PoIiMath @politicalmath, "I am no RFK fan, but he's no more responsible for the measles outbreak in the US than he is for the much worse measles outbreak in Canada." Quote The Bulwark @BulwarkOnline, "Bash: "Do you accept some responsibility for this measles outbreak?" RFK: "Absolutely not…Did I cause those measles outbreaks?" Bash: "You're the most famous vaccine skeptic on the planet."" Matt Vespa at TownHall thinks This Could Have Been the Reason Why Fauci Took the Fifth Over 100 Times "It was pride. He didn’t want to be subjected to three hours of him tearing down his temple, especially when it came to the legal loophole the Obama administration left him to tinker with these viruses that created so much havoc." Mike Fumento at Am Spec, Fifth Amendment Fauci’s Narcissism Destroyed Faith in Scientific Methodology. "Congress may be investigating COVID, but the deeper scandal is how one bureaucrat reshaped science into dogma." It still works, if they bother to follow it. At his NYPo gig Insty opines on Fauci’s follies — time to toss the ‘science is settled’ groupthink. PJM's Kevin Downey calls COVID-19 Fauci's Holocaust. At CNN, Dr. Ashish Jha on COVID-19: 'It probably was a lab leak' "Former Biden White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha, tells Dana Bash, "When I went into the White House, my view was this was almost surely a natural outbreak, maybe a lab leak. Based on information I learned and based on information I've seen, I have come to conclude that it is more likely to have been a lab leak."" At Hat Hair VIP, Chris Toto noted Late-Night Hacks Did Exactly What We Expected Re: FauciGate. Late night hacks gonna hack. At Pirate's Cove, Bill Teach hears Louisiana Joins Investigation Into Fauci After His 5th Amendment Hearing, "Louisiana AG says state will investigate Fauci after Senate hearing, "Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill (R) said her state will investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci after a recent fiery Senate hearing where the former chief White House medical adviser pleaded the Fifth Amendment in response to questions from Republican lawmakers. In a post on the social platform X on Saturday, Murrill said that “Louisiana and Missouri deposed Dr. Fauci.” “At the time, he claimed to not recall many key details of his own actions and now we are discovering contemporaneous records he kept,” she added. “Louisiana will join Alabama & Florida in investigating Fauci and whether he committed any other offenses that could be pursued in our State courts.”" Driscoll at Insty, thinks REPRISALS WOULD BE A GOOD START: Marc J. Randazza @marcorandazza, "What happened 6 years ago: “get over it” What someone else did 400 years ago: “give me free shit and no accountability forever”" Quote Grinch @Uncatfishable, "Y’all still mad about a lockdown from 6/7 years ago that saved millions of lives. Fucking idiots." John Davidson at Da Fed asserts Unless Fauci Is Held Accountable, America Will Never Recover From His Lies. Never is a long time.

From AMAC, President Trump Fixes Biden’s Mess on Medicare Drug Premiums. "The Trump administration is doing the right thing by fixing a totally unworkable Biden-era Medicare subsidy program. The hysterical reaction from the left should be seen for what it is – nothing more than another shameful election-season scare tactic."

News Wax reports Darline Graham Backs Trump Agenda in Senate Debut. Good. I worried she might be a little squishy. I still do.

Jordan Schachtel at Am Great thinks AI Will Save the U.S. Economy "The pace of innovation is unlike anything we’ve ever seen." But can it save us from an overweening government stealing the gains? Sarah Anderson at PJM sees Javier Milei Just Proposed a Great Idea. Every Government Should Follow His Lead. "Essentially, if the Argentine national government runs a fiscal deficit for several months in a row, the Congress receives a warning that it has a matter of weeks to fix it. If it doesn't hit the deadline, the "shackle" activates automatically, and the political class will be the ones impacted. Here's what happens: 1. Non-essential government functions are suspended (hello, government shutdown). 2. All new spending is frozen and will not be authorized until the problem is resolved. 3. No new contracts can be awarded. 4. No new public-sector employees can be hired. 5. Discretionary transfers to the provinces are halted. And last but not least, the best part: 6. The salaries of the top politicians stop completely. The vice president, ministers, secretaries, undersecretaries, national senators, national deputies, and even El presidente himself will not receive a dime of taxpayer money until they solve the problem." Great ideas, too bad Congress would never allow it. Sundance at CTH points out Manufacturing Index Reflects Continued Strong Growth – Highest in 4 Years and Secretary Rubio Discusses Global Challenges and Hints Toward the Never Asked Question: "why have your views changed so dramatically in the past two years, and/or are you just playing a role." At Oil Price.com, Guyana’s Oil Boom Matters More Than Ever. "In a surprise development, the tiny South American nation of Guyana recently emerged as a major oil exporter. In a mere four years, the former British colony of one million went from first discovery to first oil. Guyana has cemented its place among South America’s leading oil producers, pumping nearly one million barrels per day, making it the continent’s third-largest oil producer. The rapid expansion of Guyana’s offshore oil industry will enhance energy security in the Americas at a crucial time, with heightened Middle East tensions sharply impacting global supply." At WUWT, Joe Fournier Blames Canada’s Terrible Regulations For Wildfires Ruining America’s Summer.

Matt Vespa says Oh, So Get a Load of the Judge Who Tossed Trump's NJ Lawsuit Over Its Voter Database "U.S. District Judge Zahid Quraishi granted a motion to dismiss filed by Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell, who also serves as secretary of state, and rejected the U.S. Department of Justice’s expansive interpretation of the Civil Rights Act of 1960... What do you expect from a jurist with this donation history? But even worse, this gobbledygook on Trump’s immigration agenda in February (via NYT):"

At News Wax, Report: US, Iran Near Deal to Open Strait of Hormuz for 60 Days. Cameron Arcand at TownHall hears Trump Halts Massive Iran Attack Plan. Here's Why. "The president reportedly spoke with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday, who cautioned against massive strikes on the Islamic Republic, CNN reported." Don't listen. Keep pressure on the IRGC and mullahs. As PJM's Stephen Kruiser notes, Iran War Continues to Be Whatever Anyone Wants It to Be. "Iran has been the big, bad, moneybags wolf in the Middle East for a very long time, and the psycho clerics who run it are not amused by the idea of being kneecapped by the Great Satan. This was never going to be easy."

From Pirate's Cove, Oh Noes, MAGA Seizes On Mamdani’s Grocery Stores Requiring ID. Frank @richardrahl1086, "I was reliably told by Democrats that people poor people, the ones that would theoretically benefit most from these stores, do not have ID nor the means to obtain ID." Quote Kevin Bass @kevinnbass, "They refuse to require ID to vote. But they will require ID to use the government grocery store." PJM's Matt Margolis thinks Mamdani's Grocery Stores Expose the Democrats' Biggest Voter ID Lie and Bob Spencer believes In Mamdani’s New York, It’s 1933 All Over Again. Even Politico admits Democratic discontent with Mamdani mounts in New York City’s outer boroughs. John Sexton at Hat Hair hears Galloway: 'He's Implying We've Done Something Wrong' "He posted a list of 900,000 people, implying they'd all done something wrong, but only sent letters to 17,000 of them. That's less than 2 percent. Put another way, 98 percent of the people on the list got doxed for no reason other than Mamdani's desire to demonize them." From NYPo, NYC to unveil new Columbus statue as group sidesteps Mamdani’s middle finger

Tim O'Brien at PJM says Latest Polls Indicate That the ‘Michigan Problem’ Will Likely Be on the Ballot in November. Reddit Lies @reddit_lies, "Socialists realizing the working class isn't with them is something special." Atop Da Hill, Carville rips Piker: ‘If he becomes a force in the Democratic Party, I’m out of here.’ Joe Chalfant at PJM, Texas Democrat Johnny Garcia Hides James Talarico's Endorsement From His Campaign Website. Teri Christoph at RedState says Wait, Are Those Tears? Seattle's Socialist Mayor Cracks As Even the Lefty Media Turns on Her. At Althouse regarding Madison WI, "Seattle went though this years back. A whole block, lots of people. The city just gave it a little time and then one morning at about 4am..." ""... came in and announced the street will be cleaned in 10 minutes and everyone had to get out. They just rolled trucks down and tossed everything away and that was that. I think Madison will just need to do the same here. Let people do their thing for a bit, then wipe it clean and everyone moves on."Says a commenter at the Reddit post, "A stroll through the autonomous zone. Sundance hosts DHS Secretary Mullin Discusses Immigration Reform, Workforce and Deportation "DHS Secretary: "Is immigration reform possible? No.""

From the Euro Con, More Than 1,500 Migrants Swim Into Spain as Ceuta Is Overwhelmed. State of the Day has State of Friday: BODIES + ‘SO MANY RIGHT WINGERS’ "Tens of thousands of military-aged men streamed over the border. At least five Facebook pages (now taken down) were coordinating the crowds. Literal truckloads of people were driven up to the border and dumped." Sundance, Nick Shirley Went to Ceuta, Spain, and almost got knifed. Quotulatiousness wonders is The Ceuta invasion a tipping point? At Spiked, Europe is suicidally complacent about the Islamist threat. "The Paris stabbing suspect said Allah made him do it. So why do the authorities say there’s no Islamist motive?" One can be both Islamist and crazy; in fact, it's kind of a natural fit. Tim O'Brien wonders Did Tucker Carlson Just Host the First Meeting of 'The Lincoln Project 2.0'? "Posing for the camera around the table are Carlson; Marjorie Taylor Greene and her husband, news presenter Brian Glenn; Joe Kent and his wife, Heather, a former reality TV personality; and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and his wife, former congressional staffer Carolyn Moffa."

John Sexton continues the story of the Star Academic at Cambridge who Can't Back Up His Own Stories. Driscoll calls him JASON GUMP: Cambridge professor made impossible claim he was on Seven Up. Matt Taibbi @mtaibbi, "That there’s even a controversy about this story is incredible. If a Cambridge prof can plagiarize this carelessly and get away with it for years, and still have defenders, shows academia is totally broken." Quote Jesse Singal @jessesingal, "1/ In addition to the document's plagiarism, the title of Arday's PhD thesis has a grammatical error -- he puts an apostrophe after "teachers" that shouldn't be there -- that is repeated dozens or hundreds of times throughout the document." Campus Reform explores How college graduates became more likely to vote Democrat. "Once a Republican-leaning voting bloc, college graduates now overwhelmingly favor Democrats as campuses expand progressive activism beyond the humanities. The rise of student debt, declining confidence in higher education, and the spread of identity-based programming have coincided with a dramatic political realignment among college graduates." The College Fix reports Oklahoma colleges face federal complaint over nursing scholarship only for Native Americans and U. Tampa English professor claims Trump’s words contribute to declining support for trans rights. So? Hat Hair's Betsey McCaughey looks at Teachers Union Brainwashing. Teri Christoph again, Beautiful: Cornell Brat Who Refused to Work With Jews Gets Brutal Life Lesson From Mom and Dad. New York Post @nypost, "Parents kick Jew-hating Cornell student Austin Franco out of house, but Ivy welcomes him back." "They told The Post that they found their son’s behavior reprehensible — and believe he’s fallen victim to dark online influences." At the Tennessean, 'White. Blonde. Jew' author says store canceled event amid backlash.

Jackson Thompson @JackThompsonFOX, "Fever coach Stephanie White is asked her stance on males playing in women's sports. "I wouldn't really say that I'm educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don't ever believe that exclusion is the answer." She then opens up on "frustration" over the debate being tied to the team lately, as they are playing their second game in a row with a rally celebrating Sophie Cunningham's stance for protecting women's sports." Tim Young @TimRunsHisMouth, "More people would pay to see Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark play a game of HORSE than would pay to see the rest of the WNBA play all of their games combined." Quote New York Post @nypost, "Fever coach Stephanie White admits 'frustration' with lingering Sophie Cunningham drama." Clay Travis @ClayTravis, "Important announcement: I am upping my offer, $10 million dollars for a head-to-head basketball game between the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and a boy's high school state title team of my choice. If the Aces beat my team, I will give them $10 million," and Clay Travis @ClayTravis, "I am not kidding about this. I am prepared to buy a @wnba expansion franchise and locate them in Nashville. I pledge to have a 100% trans team, all men who identify as women. I will also employ a 100% trans coaching staff. Most inclusive team in history!" Quote Clay Travis @ClayTravis "WNBA coach says men should be able to play in the WNBA. Finally! Where is my franchise, @wnba? My team will be 100% trans. The Travis owned Nashville Balls will be the most inclusive women’s/men’s team in WNBA history. Stop discriminating against us!"

Flotsam and Jetsam - “Easy Like Sunday Morning”

It's kind of a themeless Sunday morning, cleaning up debris from the week. Either that, or I did a less than thorough job of collecting links. In misc Trumpiania, Matt Vespa thinks This Image Says Everything About Trump's White House Correspondents' Association Dinner Speech. RedState's Nick Arama likes how Trump Delivers a Funny Joke About Nicki Minaj at the WHCD - She Drops a Humorous Reply. Pop Base @PopBase, “After hearing the gunshots, many people yelled ‘Get down!’ which caused Nicki Minaj to start twerking. Can you believe it? She’s the only one that really understood what that meant.”

At Hat Hair, Salena Zito has an American Dream: Trump, McCormick and Dimon Unveil a Massive Manufacturing Push in Pennsylvania. USTR Takes Action in Forced Labor Section 301 Investigations, raising tariffs on countries that allow imports of the products of slave labor. “President Trump recognizes that decades of moral suasion have not eradicated forced labor from global supply chains. The United States has had a forced labor import ban for nearly a century, and rigorously enforces it; it’s well past time for our trading partners to do the same.”

Sundance at CTH sees the Plot Thickens – New Jersey Data Contractor Says Noncitizens Registering to Vote Not Our Error, they deliberately registered noncitizens.

Switching gears to foreign affairs, sundance has President Trump Notes Europe’s Refusal to Accept Elimination of Marshall Plan – New EU Scheme to Fine U.S. Tech Companies, Zelenskyy Pledges to Share Exclusive Ukraine Satellite Intelligence to Assist NATO/USA in Defeating Iran and Canadian NATO Intern at Military HQ Arrested for Spying for China. At Am Con, The Fight Inside Trump’s State Department Is About Power—Not Expertise, "The president needs diplomats willing to advance his America First agenda."

I&I asks a rhetorical question, Why Are Dems Dodging Questions About The DSA’s Radical Platform? PJM's Matt Margolis sees Jessica Tarlov Thought She Was Schooling Her Co-Hosts. She Got Humiliated Instead. ""You've been calling every Democratic candidate for over a decade a socialist or communist," Tarlov said. Gutfeld wasn't having it. "The socialists are calling themselves socialists! We didn't name them the DSA," he said." Amy Curtis @RantyAmyCurtis, "We know Hollywood is filled with commies. Funny how they don’t redistribute their wealth to the rest of us." Quote Nicholas Fondacaro @NickFondacaro, "Actress Molly Ringwald whines about McCarthyism and defends the communist ideology. She tacitly admits that Hollywood is filled with communists."

From the Victory Girls, Jewish Democrats In Michigan Plan To Back Republican If El-Sayed Wins Primary. We've been waiting for the majority of Jews to wise up for a long time. Data Republican at Substack, explore Chinese infiltration of US politics, Apax Partners: The Money Linking Singham and the DNC, "Apax Partners, Neville Roy Singham, and the sovereign investors surrounding the DNC’s most important political database." "Apax Partners’ management company — the entity that sits above every fund, including the one holding Democratic campaign infrastructure — counts China’s CIC and Singapore’s GIC among its owners. CIC is subject to China’s 2017 National Intelligence Law, which requires all organizations to “support, assist, and cooperate with national intelligence work.” GIC’s board is chaired by Singapore’s sitting Prime Minister, who also oversees the country’s intelligence services."

At Da Wire, Rubio Lays Down ‘Trump’s Law’ In 5 Words When Asked About Iran, "They are suffering billions of dollars in damage, and their economy’s a disaster." "“I saw Araghchi, the [Iranian] Foreign Minister, the other day say something about their policy is ‘an eye for an eye,’” Rubio told reporters. “The president’s policy is ‘a head for an eye.’" Gary Anderson at Am Spec worries Our Generals Are Failing Us in Iran and elsewhere. "The U.S. military excels at tactics and technology but too often fails at operational art, strategic thinking, and developing bold leaders."

Althouse is especially interested in the protests in Madison after the death of Corey Ruiz after he stabbed a policeman in Madison, Wisconsin. "I just wanted to get to my house — that is it"/"We all just want to do something in this world." Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Opinions @jsonlinemkebs, "Madison protestors have now shut down the main drag entering in and out of Madison's East side. Shutting this road down would delay first responders significantly if they were responding to a medical emergency. This is lawlessness and is putting innocent lives in danger." "The protesters are not just expressing themselves but demanding that other people stop living their lives freely and become one with the protest." And "The Dane County Farmers’ Market will still take place Saturday morning on the Capitol Square, though organizers say the market 'will look different.'" "'It is not a celebration of local food, but a space where everyone can find food grown in their community to sustain themselves and be together,' the market said in a social media post.... That's from "'My family needs justice': Relatives of Corey Ruiz speak out for first time since police shooting/Family members spoke at press event with civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who previously represented George Floyd's family" (WPR)." Stacy McCain covers the Criminal Carnival in Madison, Wisconsin. "Amy Curtis: “If you don’t know Wisconsin, let me explain that Madison is so left-wing it flies in circles.” Indeed."

At Coffee and Covid News, "You had to scroll all the way down this morning’s New York Times web page to find it, but the story reported, “Hawaii Lt. Gov. Is Indicted in Corruption Investigation.” The short article is almost mind-numbingly boring, packed with passive-tense, soft verbs, and a distinct absence of outrage. Maybe the reserved tone was because the indictments were more Democrats, including the highest-ranking Democrat official under indictment yet."

This leads us to a larger point about Trump 2.0’s Department of Justice. While many in the MAGA base are still spreading “waiting for someone to get arrested” memes, high-profile, state-level arrests are happening all over the country.

How? The Trump administration systematically dismantled the so-called “ethical” gatekeepers in D.C. The DOJ’s Public Integrity Section —which historically acted as a brake and a bottleneck, protecting favored politicians and shutting down local investigations— was slashed from 36 lawyers down to just two. The long-standing requirement that local prosecutors consult with D.C. before indicting any local political figures was suspended.

By removing the federal roadblock, the Trump DOJ effectively unleashed state-level corruption prosecutions. The Hawaii case, for example, is being prosecuted by the state Attorney General’s Special Investigation and Prosecution Division, using evidence provided by the feds.

Leslie Eastman at LI is gratified Trump Demands Review of ‘Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence’ Used by Federal Judges, "Meanwhile, the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology investigates the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) over its stewardship of this nation’s scientific efforts." Conquest's Second Law: Any organization not explicitly and constitutionally right-wing will sooner or later become left-wing. With Fritz's addendum, "With explicitly right-wing organization, it takes a little longer."

From Twitchy, Convicted Murderer Karmelo Anthony Seeks a New Trial, Claims Judge Was Biased, a routine procedural step. Jay Rogers at TownHall thinks The Carroll Case Still Deserves a Second Look, it didn't even make sense as fiction.

At Twitchy, Judges Enter Orders Preventing DHS From Terminating TPS for Ethiopia, South Sudan , despite the Supreme Court telling them, more or less directly, to cut that shit out. John Hinderacker at Power Line, compares Trump’s Success, and AI’s Bias on immigration. "My colleague David Zimmer dug into the data to assess the success of President Trump’s immigration policies. He found them to be very successful, indeed:... I thought I’d put AI to the test to see what its response would be regarding the data I presented above. It responded twice that I was misrepresenting the data relevant to both the number and percentage of illegal aliens detained who had either a criminal history or pending criminal charge. AI referenced the CATO Institute and the Migration Policy Institute as source documents for refuting my conclusions. I then provided the link to the DHS raw data and asked AI to calculate the figures and get back to me. Here’s AI’s response – I’ll take the win!..."

From Shooting News Week, Congress Moving to Block Gun Purchase Tracking Causes a Major Media Meltdown, but then, they melt down over nearly everything.

Sundance reports a Terrorist Attack at Berlin Gay Pride Event. Those damn white sup.... oh wait, Yashar Ali @yashar, "BREAKING via AP Berlin police say they have identified a suspect with ties to Islamic extremist circles after a van plowed into crowds at the city’s major LGBTQ celebration Saturday night. The suspect, who is known to police, remains at large as authorities conduct an intensive search. One person was killed and at least 16 others were injured."
