More Stupid than Carrying Coals to Newcastle

Swamp forests in the US are being felled to help keep the lights on in the UK. Is this really the best way to combat climate change?

The UK has shifted away from coal burning  power plants, in favor of "renewables", at a horrid cost of price, efficiency and stability.  One of their answers to the demands of the Kyoto treaty is to import wood chips from the United States and burn them in what were formerly coal burning power plants.

Fortunately the same eco-warriors who crusaded for the Kyoto treaty are opposing this as well.  How many of them would have anticipated this as a result of the devotion to renewable energy?



I say we get them good and addicted to our wood chips, and then start raising prices...
