We got an early morning phone call early this morning from Megan. Skye, the Siberian Husky we adopted 11 years ago, passed away overnight back in Maryland. It wasn't exactly unexpected; she had been fading rapidly over the last year, but our hearts are full of sorrow.
Goodbye Skye, you were the best dog ever.
I'm sorry to hear that Fritz. I know that both you and Georgia thought it was a possibility due to her age while you were gone, but that does not make it any easier or your sorrow any less.
ReplyDeleteOnly two things I can add. I'm just Christian enough to believe in an afterlife and if it does not include all the dogs I've had (will have) I'm not interested.
Also, Kipling said it best.

Sorry Fritz, that's tough.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your Husky's passing. I always looked forward to the pics of her running on the beach. We have 2 Siberians, and I don't know what I would do without them.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you both. I too enjoyed seeing pics of Skye when she was with you on your walks. Although you said she was slowing down and having a harder time with the walks, you could almost tell she still enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about this, Fritz. She was a gorgeous Husky, and I'll miss the photos of her frolicking around.
