As we have done for the last several years, we went down to our beach for the unofficial, unsponsored, highly illegal fireworks display put on by a few people at the beaches. Time to get off the jetty while you can still see where to put your feet.
Waiting for dark, but the crowd is starting to assemble
Going out to watch the fireworks from offshore. A tempting proposition, but it would be hard to get good photos from a rocking small boat.
First fireworks!
In this exposure, a kid carries a sparkler past, but in the time exposure, the kid hardly shows.
The big ones start to go off, even thought there's a little blue left in the sky (accentuated by the long exposure).
