I enjoyed his 2013 Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes and Politics. In that book, he recalled that he learned to speak fluently and precisely when dictating after having lost the ability to write on paper.
An athlete who was paralyzed since medical school in a diving accident, Charles led one heck of a vital, productive, wonderful, full life. God bless him and his family.
