I cut a social engagement in the morning to meet Ron at his boat at 8:30. We went down to the usual fishing hole for this time of year and found only a few small and medium fish. Until . . .
Ron had a big one on, and it was taking line off his spool faster than he could get it back. I idled the boat toward the fish, and lipped the fish with the Boga Grip and hauled it up over the side for a quick measurement and photo or two. 45 inches (an inch bigger than my personal best, dammit) and nearly 40 lbs (it's hard to measure on a pitching deck).
A few more small to medium fish, and we came in around noon.
