Beach Report 9/1/21

We started the walk before noon, because it was pretty clear from the radar that the afternoon was likely to have some weather. There were some pretty bouncy looking clouds out there, courtesy of now Tropical Depression Ida.
It didn't discourage the Great Blue Heron from occupying his spot on the posing post. The Ospreys were out working furiously, getting ready for the long flight south.
It was a terrible day for fossils, between a high tide and a fair amount of surf. Georgia cleaned my clock with 4 teeth to my 1, including this pretty nice parasymphyseal Snaggletooth.
We got just a touch of rain on the walk home.
It is the time of year for Sandspur to ripen. An obnoxious native grass with terrible, sharp, barbed burrs. I've become an expert at extracting them from dogs paws.
