Election 2020: Are Things Calming Down?

A very slack day, as befits a slack weekend. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette worries All eyes turn to Pennsylvania after Ariz.’s ‘audit’ affirmed Biden’s presidential victory. No, what the Arizona audit did was confirm that there were enough votes of questionable origin to cover the spread between Trump and Biden several times over. A few nudges from fraud in the mail in voting alone could easily have account for Biden's victory. Andrea Widburg at Am Think thinks (no, not yet) It’s fake news that the Maricopa audit proves Biden won

Democrats are strutting because the final Cyber Ninjas audit in Arizona showed that “[t]he auditor’s final hand count—which quadruple-checked every single one of the 2.1 million ballots—matches Maricopa County’s official machine count.” Big whoop. For those complaining about irregularities in the 2020 election, the question was never about miscounting. Instead, it was about the claim that an inordinate number of the ballots in the Joe Biden pile didn’t come from real people. Instead, they were alleged to have been faked—and the audit confirms almost 60,000 wrongfully counted ballots that could easily switch the Arizona Electoral College vote from Biden to Trump. No wonder Cyber Ninjas says the Arizona result should not have been certified.

At the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Trump intensifies war with Georgia GOP leaders at Perry rally and from AllahPundit at Haut Hair, Trump sort of endorses Stacey Abrams. At least she's an enemy out in the open. Liz Cheney, "I like Republican presidents who win re-election", which would have carried more weight if she had actually worked for his re-election, instead of trying to knife him in the back.

I&I/TIPP Poll: Biden Voters Abandon Him In Droves, Paul Bedard at WaEx reports Pollster Zogby: Biden ‘is in trouble,’ a ‘D’ for the week. Well, there has been grade inflation. And NYT's caged conservative, Ross Douhat worries (via Haut Hair), Can Joe Biden recover?
Whereas what should worry Democrats most are scenarios that require a lot from this president: adaptability, finesse, a skillful use of the bully pulpit. Biden can definitely float back up; I’m less sure that he can claw his way back, as Bill Clinton did after his early-presidency stumbles.

Across da pond at Da Mail, Rudy Giuliani blasts Fox News after network banned him for three months over 2020 election claims

Citing a Politico story, Bannon said Giuliani is under 'double secret probation' at Fox News.

Bannon said: 'Fox did not allow Rudy Giuliani to appear on Fox and Friends on the morning of September 11 - now they tell you you've been on some secret probation over there that nobody knew about?'

Giuliani replied: 'It’s really strange that I’m on probation at a time in which just about everything I said is being corroborated.'

'And they actually are reporting all the things they claim I misled them about.'

Vickie Taft at PJ Media claims the FBI Narrative About the Jan. 6th Capitol 'Insurrection' Is IMPLODING, with at least two FBI informants in on the action.

It’s already known that the Proud Boys leader, Enrique Tarrio, had been an FBI informant. The Times report concentrates on yet another FBI informant in the right-leaning group who reportedly warned his handler in real-time that some bad stuff was going on at the Capitol.

Though several Proud Boys are charged with a conspiracy, this latest informant maintains that there was never any plan by the group to violently storm the Capitol and, indeed, there’s evidence to back that claim.

Indeed, the paper concludes the obvious: that “the new information is likely to complicate the government’s efforts to prove the high-profile conspiracy charges it has brought against several members of the Proud Boys.”

At Da Caller, Justice For J6 Rally Organizer Said The Group Was In Constant Contact With Law Enforcement Ahead Of The Event

“We communicated with them on a near-daily basis for two months and ahead of this, to make sure it all went smoothly, they were very responsive to everything,” Braynard said. “And for the most part, I think they did a phenomenal job in helping us coordinate and have a safe and successful event.”

“I know there were federal agents at the rally, they were surrounding us in all directions,” Braynard added. “They were expected to be there. I knew they were gonna be there. We coordinated with them [federal law enforcement officials], we told them everything we were doing.”
. . .
“None of our people were arrested,” Braynard told the DCNF. He added that he was never concerned about attendees showing up armed and that the accusation was “a political decision to suppress turnout.”
