I knew the tide was high when I left to take Skye to the beach, but the tide chart just didn't do it justice. The first clue was the sight of water washing over the north jetty:
Turning to the left, the highest waves were washing at the base of the dunes. Skye and I tried to dodge the waves to go north, but I quickly got my legs wet up to my knees, so we got up in the duned and waded through the grass and stickers. We took the stair up to the street and walked back from there.
No, it's not sea level rise, it's an exceptionally high tide due to a storm out in the Atlantic.
