After my Schadenfreude weather report this morning, the clouds rolled in in advance of a small afternoon thunder boomer; a real disappointment, as it didn't yield more than a few drops of rain. We got to the beach between the Tanagers and the T-storm.
A crab boat named after Donna Jean? The wife or daughter, if traditional. The crab pots are out in relatively deep water now; they'll move in closer as the water warms, and then back out to the 30 ft line in fall.
Despite a high tide, we had lots of shell hash to look for teeth in.
And while we didn't find a lot, we did get one good one, this Mako tooth, complete, and seemingly as sharp as the day it fell out of the extinct sharks mouth around 10 million years ago.
The traditional "in the hand" shot after it is safely rescued from the waves. It's on the top shelf in the kitchen for now, until replaced by a better one.
A pot of Phragmites on the beach? It's really a piece of concrete pipe used to help from a small groin, but it's been taken over by the "bad" Phrag.
