A few weeks ago my mother, Mary Elizabeth (usually called Libby), 90 years old, and living at home with Dad in California, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She's spent a lot of time worried about it, of course, and doing her research. Today, she was operated on, and the tumor was removed.
We heard from her a couple of hours ago, and she's already home and recovering, still numb.
The preliminary pathology report appears to be good; the Drs. report taking it all out with clear margins and no lymph node involvement. This of course, will need to be confirmed, but we're hoping that no follow up radiation treatments will be required.
Here's hoping that things continue to go well.
