It's cool here today, in the mid 30's with moderate NW breeze, not quite enough west in it to give the beach much relief, so it was brisk. I left my "homeless" gloves at home, and regretted it.
We found only a two teeth today, but one of them is likely to stay on the top shelf all year, this 1.75, unusually colored "Mako" tooth (which is probably really the ancestor of the modern Great White Shark). It is unfortunately missing the root, or it would be an even better specimen. I had trouble finding the second one in my pocket when we got home.
Not much else to report. The Buffies and Scaup are still hanging around the harbor mouth, and the harbor is still frozen, although yesterday's rain clearly rotted the ice some. We'll see if any survives until the next cold snap.
