Because you can be pretty sure a Biden AJ won't appoint one: Althouse, "Undercutting Trump, Barr says there’s no basis for seizing voting machines, using special counsels for election fraud, Hunter Biden.", WaPo reports. Of course there is. Trump has a conflict about Biden's son, and, when Biden comes into office, obviously he'll have a huge, huge conflict. . . Cowardice. . . . I made a mistake: I believed in the integrity of a Republican. . . .It will never happen again.
At Fox, KT McFarland (who was hounded by Special Counsel Weissman) Hunter Biden should be investigated by special counsel — national security demands it. "A Justice Department headed by an attorney general selected by Joe Biden will not be eager to investigate and possibly prosecute the son of the president"
Personally, I'm not in favor of taking it out on Hunter, but if he's committed tax fraud I'd like to see the evidence. It's patently obvious he's been trading on his father's name for years. The question is what Joe got out of it besides a boost for a wayward son. To wit:
Boston Herald, Aide: Biden won’t talk about son Hunter with AG candidates. Yeah, he won't need to; they'll all be good Democrats overwilling to overlook corruption by ruling families if they're Democrats too.
On the hard drive you could even see messages from DOCTOR Jill Biden telling Hunter who to pay, take care of bills, etc via mobile transfer. https://t.co/QmibfleXJg— Jack Posobiec 🇺🇸 (@JackPosobiec) December 16, 2020
Even if you believe Hunter cannot be charged with a crime, the criminal code is not the only measure of wrongdoing. This was raw influence-peddling on a global scale. It was wrong in its own right.
What was most embarrassing about the Colbert interview is the careful avoidance of any specific or substantive question. It was the ultimate "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?" interview.
Colbert framed the investigation in strictly political terms and how it affects Biden as a father and candidate. Moreover, this is not just about Hunter Biden. It is also about the president-elect Biden and whether he lied about his knowledge of the dealings and whether he knew about an influence-peddling scheme using his position. Either witnesses like former Hunter Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski are lying or Joe Biden is lying.
Bobulinski has given his allegations to the FBI under threat of prosecution. Biden has never uttered a word about Bobulinski.
There was not a single question from Colbert on Thursday about how emails and witnesses, if true, would reveal that Biden has knowingly and repeatedly lied. To date, he has denied any knowledge of the son's business dealings.
Hunter Biden himself contradicted his father on that point but that was not enough to ask Joe Biden about his past denials.

How long will it take for the Biden-Harris administration to become a catastrophe of historical proportions, such a flaming dungpile of disaster that even Democrats are horrified by the result?
Perhaps quite quickly, but it may take several months for the enormity of this massive political failure to become apparent. As conservatives, we ought not grow impatient. Don’t try to create trouble, but rather let this fraudulence proceed to its inevitable collapse, and then be prepared to say, “See? We told you it wouldn’t work.”
Of course, that presumes Biden stays President long enough for his failures to become evident.
