Election Coverage: Bannon Indicted for Contempt of Congress

Don't we all hold Congress in contempt? We knew it was headed this way. I do wonder what his strategy will be going forward. A full throated defense of the right of the President to hear from his advisors in private, or a stall until the Congress falls into the hands of Republicans again. It could be both. Fox, Steve Bannon indicted on contempt of Congress charges, "Bannon failed to appear for a deposition in front of the House Select Committee to Investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol."   At NR, Steve Bannon Indicted by Grand Jury for Contempt of Congress. WaPoo, Steve Bannon indicted after refusal to comply with Jan. 6 committee subpoena. Stacy McCain, Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 Witch-Hunt Committee Burns Its First Witch. It’s a fucking publicity stunt, and Bannon is the Big Name to help hype up the MSNBC audience and generate New York Times headlines. At CTH, sundance gets to the heart of the matter, AG Merrick Garland Weaponizes DOJ With Political Indictment of Steve Bannon for Contempt of Congress. We all know it's a show trial.

Eric Holder was held in contempt of congress for refusing to produce documents and testimony in the Fast-n-Furious investigation, and the DOJ did nothing. IRS official Lois Lerner was held in contempt of congress for failure to produce documents and give testimony in the IRS investigation, and the DOJ did nothing.

Steve Bannon is held in contempt of congress for failing to provide documents and give testimony to the J6 committee, and the DOJ issues an indictment….

Also from sundance, Liz Cheney Uses Her Position on J6 Committee to Target Political Opposition in Wyoming. Power corrupts.

In the latest deployment of her black-art politics, Liz Cheney has used her position as a J6 committee member to subpoena Bill Stepien, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager {link}. Bill Stepien is also the current political advisor/campaign manager of Wyoming congressional candidate Harriet Hageman {website here} President Trump has endorsed Harriet Hageman in the quest to unseat and remove Liz Cheney in the GOP Primary {link}.

In essence, Liz Cheney is using her Pelosi-aligned position on the J6 Committee to target her opponent in the GOP primary. Retaining power at all costs is just the way the swamp works. From the perspective of Cheney Inc., the MAGA base is just a bunch of rubes that need to be ruled and occasionally culled.

Karen Townsend at Haut Hair, Exposed: White House, DOJ coordinated with National School Boards Association's "domestic terrorist" letter

Internal emails prove that there was coordination between the White House and DOJ before the National School Boards Association (NSBA) released its letter describing parents as “domestic terrorists”. The emails show that the letter was weeks in the making.

The letter wasn’t just some spontaneous reaction to some concerned parents heatedly speaking out at school board meetings. The NSBA sent the letter to Biden on September 29. Five days later, on October 4, the DOJ issued a memo directing law enforcement to investigate threats to school boards. The NSBA president, Viola Garcia, sent a memo to NSBA members on October 11 (though it was dated October 12) which provided a timeline pointing to coordination with the White House prior to the letter to Biden was sent. In other words, this was a well-coordinated attack at concerned parents who voiced opposition to the school curriculum and policies. Garcia’s timeline exposes that Attorney General Merrick Garland lied under oath to Congress when he said there was no coordination between DOJ and NSBA.

Parents Defending Education obtained internal emails through a FOIA request. Garcia, who has since been named to a federal board, points to a well-coordinated effort with various members of the Biden administration.

Have our Precious Norms now been restored, NeverTrump?

A FOIA'd memo reveals that the NSBA was also "actively engaged," pre-letter, with... the DOJ. . . . Merrick Garland's DOJ. . . . Merrick Garland who claimed that he did not base his decision to use the force of the federal government to squash the first amendment rights of concerned parents on the specific language of the letter.

Across da Pond at Da Mail, Arizona school board president kept secret dossier on parents opposed to CRT and mask mandates that was discovered after he accidentally sent a link to a mom: Private investigator ran background checks and filmed parents. John Sexton at Haut Hair, Arizona school board president (or maybe his father?) kept a Google drive full of info on outspoken parents. My question is who paid the PI.  The father apparently, but his son had access to the drive, and accidentally exposed it's existence. He needs to go. Scratch a liberal, find a fascist underneath.
