If you're not averse to subtitles, then you can very easily fill that "Show Hole" with Korean or Indian films and shows. They may have their own political sucker-punches but since I lack the cultural context to recognize them, all I see is pure entertainment when I watch them. Even my wife has become a convert....
ReplyDeleteThe Korean ladies tend toward the "pretty but not necessarily super-hot" end of the spectrum (though there are exceptions like Park Min-Young and Kang Han-Na), but the Indian actresses tend to be more along the lines of "mind-meltingly gorgeous."
We have done that a couple of times, and been relatively satisfied. The last Indian show we watched was "Tha Last Hour" on Prime, and we did get into it pretty well.
DeleteThe problem of course, is just scanning through long lists of shows, and deciding which ones to view with relatively little background info. It's not like we're really that sophisticated viewers.
As for the Indian ladies? Well, they have a lot to choose from . . .
Yes they do. Honestly, it's a Chinese actress who I think is the most attractive right now. Her "English name" is Tiffany Tang and still photos don't quite seem to capture her essence, but seeing her on-screen is just... yeah. She just "does it" for me.
DeleteAs to the selection in the endless list... yeah, that can be a little rough, but from what I've found in the Indian ones is that even the dreck is still pretty entertaining, but if it's not then I'll happily just move on to the next one. For the Korean ones, I've really only been watching tv series and if I'm not "grabbed" during the 1st episode then I just move on. It honestly hasn't happened often, though. Most just grab me right from the get-go.
