Election 2020: Lies, Damn Lies and Social Media

Rick Moran at PJ Media reports Federal Judge Throws a Monkey Wrench Into Capitol Riot Prosecutions

A federal judge ruled on Friday that the Justice Department could not use a contractor to organize grand jury materials relating to the more than 500 defendants who have been charged in the January 6 Capitol riot.

The evidence is largely in the form of social media posts, videos, and emails. The Justice Department agreed to pay Deloitte Financial Advisory Services $6.1 million to set up a database containing the evidence gathered by the FBI in their investigation. The database would be available to both the prosecution and the defendants in order to satisfy the requirement that all “exculpatory” evidence be given to the defense.

The government was going to give Deloitte access to sensitive grand jury information, however. The judge ruled that Deloitte was not a government entity and was not entitled to view the secret information.
. . .
Court watchers believe that the ruling will push back most of the rioters’ trials well into 2022.

Sounds like bad news for the defendants; the prosecution and judges (which in this case appears to be part of the prosecution) to keep the defendants in jail on misdemeanor charges.  Mediaite promotes a Democrats fantasy/nightmare, Democratic Rep. Ping Two - General Milley is done. He needs to resign. He’s politically toxic and can no longer be effective as CJCS. What American is going to trust him to advise the president on military operations now?

He should have resigned before engaging in the clearly partisan, politicized hot-babbling that emerges from the quotes attributed to him. If he felt the need to say such things, the stand-up course would have been to urge political officials to take stabilizing action, and resign if necessary to go public.

Three Democrats from the Texas state House have tested positive for the coronavirus in Washington, D.C. after departing for the nation's capital earlier this week. according to Texas House Democratic Caucus leadership.

The Texas officials are among more than 50 lawmakers who fled the state Monday to break a quorum, preventing the GOP-controlled House from passing legislation that Republicans say looks to strengthen the integrity of elections.

In photos posted to social media this week, the departing Democrats were seen maskless aboard a private plane en route to D.C. This comes as mask requirements are still enforced on commercial airplanes.

The whole fleeing-Texas story is hilarious, in my opinion one of the worst political calculations of recent times.
