Flotsam and Jetsam - Lindsey Graham Still Dead

At WaPoo, Lindsey Graham died of aortic dissection, preliminary medical report says. "Graham died hours after returning from a trip to Ukraine. Trump said he spoke with the senator Saturday evening and that “could’ve been his last call.”" That certainly explains the sudden part. Capt. Ed at Hat Hair says RIP to Lindsey Graham (1955-2026). From sundance at CTH, Senator Lindsey Graham Dead, President Trump Discusses 7pm Phone Call Last Night with Senator Lindsey Graham, President Trump Reminds Jake Tapper to Stay on Task – Focus on Lindsey Graham, In Memoriam – The Most Interesting Revelation Released by Senator Lindsey Graham and Nancy Mace Wants to Replace Lindsey Graham "Not many people think highly of Nancy Mace. However, Nancy Mace thinks very highly of herself." Noah Rothman at NRO remembers Lindsey Graham’s Finest Moment. Stacey Matthews at LI Remembering Lindsey Graham’s Pivotal Role in the Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearings.“I would never do to them what you’ve done to this guy. This is the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics. And if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn’t have done what you’ve done to this guy.” Eric Florack at PJM, Graham, McConnell, and Platner Gone? How Does This Play Out? Bob Hoge at RedState wants to know What Happens Now? The Race to Fill Graham's Seat Has Already Begun.

However, he had plenty of detractors on both sides. Joe Chalfant at TownHall, These Ghouls Couldn't Help But Gloat Over Lindsey Graham's Death. Will Ricciardella @WillRicci, "When ISIS butcher Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi died, WaPo called him an “austere religious scholar.” When commie dictator Fidel Castro died, The NYT called him a “Cuban revolutionary who defied the U.S.” Lindsey Graham raised his younger sister after their parents died, served 33 years in uniform and more than 3 decades in Congress. He dies, and prominent media voices reach back 6 years for an essay titled “History Will Judge the Complicit.” This isn’t merely bad taste, it’s a moral hierarchy: America’s enemies get context, euphemism, romance — American conservatives get a bill of indictment before their body is even cold." Quote Anne Applebaum @anneapplebaum, "Lindsey Graham was one of the main subjects of a @TheAtlantic cover story I wrote in 2020, on why people collaborate with regimes they know are immoral. Here's a gift link:" Ana Kasparian @AnaKasparian, "Are you offended? Let me clarify: I’m elated that he’s dead. Overjoyed…. Just like he was elated at seeing countless dead children throughout Middle East." Ace, Lindsey Graham Dies; Neo-Cons Across The Country Are In Mourning.

I don't have strong feelings about Graham. Certainly, as one of the early participants of the Reagan revolution, and long service, he's had ample impact on the country, for better or worse. I'm not really sure where the balance falls.

AP reports McConnell says a fall led to his hospitalization, breaking weeks of silence about health condition, followed by pneumonia. Yep, that'll do it. "McConnell explained the four-week silence about his condition by saying that “folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older.”" All the old people I know just love to talk about that shit. And I know plenty! Sundance, of course, is suspicious when Mitch McConnell Releases Image and Statement. I'm glad to hear he's improving, but it's still past time to quit.

Flotsam and Jetsam - Tom Massie Still Gone

We're still seeing autopsy results from Tuesday's primary elections, not exlusively but most notably the defeat of Trump bête noire Thomas Massie. Sundance hosts President Trump Holding an Impromptu Tarmac Presser – Discussing Election Results, Elimination of Massie, Iran, Cuba and More. Steve Guest @SteveGuest, "@ScottJenningsKY doesn’t hold back on Thomas Massie’s way out the door: “Despicable, anti-Semitic, nasty, gutter politics… it needs to be condemned.” President Trump didn’t just beat Thomas Massie. He made an example out of him. Then Massie ends his career with this line about Ed Gallrein: “I had to find him in Tel Aviv.”" Brad Todd @BradOnMessage, "By the time Massie got to tonight, he’d ticked off the tax cut crowd, the gun crowd, the hard core Trumpers, evangelicals who love the Holy Land, & the GOP normies who think we shouldn’t vacate Speaker’s chair. All he had left were atheists, libertarian weirdos & never Trumpers." Ace, Thomas Massie Has No Constituency and Leaves No Legacy "In the last weeks of his doomed campaign, Tom Massie made explicit what he had previously been coy about: He was a full-blown Nazi. He invited open Hitler fans and Holocaust deniers on to the campaign trail with him, and into his home." Physics Geek @physicsgeek, "Massie votes against border control and funding ICE. People in his district overwhelming supported those things and booted his ass out. And now all the groypers are shouting TEH JOOOOZ. Ye gods, find a new schtick. We get it: You hate Jews. Wall Street Apes @WallStreetApes, "Democrat California Rep Ted Lieu announces Democrats will restore free taxpayer funded healthcare and EBT Food Stamps to illegals when they regain power Illegals will get back - Full-scope Medi-Cal / Medicaid free insurance - Free dental benefits under Medi-Cal - Free prenatal and postpartum care - Restored coverage for undocumented children and young adults - Tax credits for undocumented - Free SNAP Food Stamps assistance “Democrats, when we get control, we're going to reverse the massive Medicaid cuts, the Medicare cuts, and the cuts of ACA that Trump and Republicans put in last year”" john jackson @pvtjokerus, "BREAKING: Eric Swalwell buddy billionaire Stephen Cloobeck has been arrested on felony charges for attempting to keep a witness from testifying. Cloobeck was allowing Swalwell to shack up at this mansion and film campaign videos there, before publicly turning on him when the Swalwell scandal hit."

VodkaPundit at PJM roots on, Gooder and Harder, NYC: Mamdani's Plan to 'Nickel & Dime' You to Death but News Wax notes Mamdani Drops NYC Property Tax Hike Plan "The democratic socialist mayor is expected to formally abandon his proposal to raise property taxes nearly 10% after months of backlash from homeowners, business leaders, and even fellow Democrats worried the move would further damage New York's struggling economy. Mamdani's executive budget instead will rely heavily on billions of dollars in additional state aid negotiated with Gov. Kathy Hochul to help close the city's budget deficits, multiple outlets reported." Apparently they're not quite out of "other people's money" yet. At NYPo the Great Victor Davis Hanson opines on How our ‘new’ Democratic Party is really a blast from the Jacobin past.

From Fox, Mural honoring murdered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska taken down in Providence after local outrage. "The partly finished artwork was lowered, folded up and taken away from a downtown Providence LGBTQ+ club on Tuesday." Petition grows to save Iryna Zarutska mural in Providence, Rhode Island.

Dmitri Bolt at PJM thinks he knows Why the Iranian People Never Rose Up, and Its Not the Reason You Think, because the Kurds stole most of the guns we sent for them to pass through to the Iranians. It's hard to blame the Kurds, who have been badly treated by virtually everybody, including the US. TCW askes Will Trump’s leftie foes turn Iran victory into defeat? Absolutely, if they can. If they can't they still sell it as a loss.

Sundance hosts FBI Director Kash Patel Appearing Before Congress who has some cross words with my Sen. Van Hollen. Also, CIA Whistleblower Outlines COVID-19 Coverup. Matt Vespa explains Why the CIA Was Not Pleased With Yesterday's COVID Whistleblower Hearing. "The CIA claimed this hearing was unnecessary, as they concluded it was likely a lab leak, that closed-door testimony had already been obtained from Erdman, and that the agency wasn't given a heads-up. Paul responded by saying that closed-door testimony is not oversight (via Public)..." Ace, CIA Whistleblower: Fauci Ordered the Cover-Up About the America-Funded Wuhan Lab's Creation of the Covid Virus. To me, the real question is how could Fauci have so much influence over the CIA?

Early in the day, it was breathlessly reported CIA Went Rogue, Raided Tulsi’s Office to Seize Papers (Cathy Salgado at PJM). Sister Toldja at RedState, Luna Says CIA Took 40 Boxes From ODNI That Gabbard Was Preparing to Declassify (Update: ODNI Responds) Anna Paulina Luna @realannapaulina, "Clarification: Took documents that ODNI has jurisdiction over. Also, this did not happen today & was not a “raid” however it did take place and we are just being made aware of it based on reporting etc." Quote Katie Pavlich Tonight @KatiePavlichNN, "BREAKING: @RepLuna tells @KatiePavlich that the CIA just marched into DNI Gabbard's office and seized boxes of JFK and MK Ultra files. Why? All the details tonight at 10pm ET on @NewsNation." Olivia Coleman @DNIspox, "This is false - the CIA did not raid the DNI’s office." Sundance doesn't believe it either, No, The CIA Did Not Raid DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s Office "CIA Director John Ratcliffe would never authorize or allow anything like what was being framed in that outlandish story. It simply did not happen."

Ace notes an Appeals Court Rules That Trump Doesn't Have to Pay Lunatic Fantasist E. Jean Carroll for the "Defamation" of Continuing to Deny This Vicious Fruitloop's Sex Fantasy About Him "Not only was the original allegation of "rape" insane and ripped off straight from an episode of Law & Order: SVU -- with this lunatic attention-whore unable to even say when the "rape" occurred more specifically than "in the nineties" -- but a subsequent New York jury also decided it was "defamation" when Trump later insisted upon his innocence. Note that this rule has never been applied to anyone except Donald Trump. Any time a man proclaims his innocence following an adverse court ruling, someone can sue that man for "defamation" for denying his or her story. And note that every instance of a false claim is a fresh defamation case -- so you can just keep suing an innocent man forever, for saying he's innocent. This is government-compelled speech of the worst kind: When a partisan jury wrongly finds you culpable, not only do you have to pay the exorbitant penalty they impose on you for partisan bullshit reasons, but you are then compelled by government action to admit the lie of your guilt, forever, anytime someone asks you about it. An Appeals Court has agreed with Trump that he should not have to pay the insane jackpot $83 million judgment until the Supreme Court rules on this preposterous new Trump-Only Law." Greg Price @greg_price11, "I just want to remind everyone that in addition to once saying on CNN that "rape is sexy," E. Jean Carroll's accusation against Trump is an exact plot line from a 2012 Law & Order SVU episode. She claimed that this was a complete coincidence when asked about it. Her lawyers also tried to get the judge to instruct jurors that there's no evidence in the record that the episode "actually exists." PJM's Athena Thorne calls it The Awful Truth: Donald Trump Must Look Over His Shoulder for the Rest of His Life, they'll keep the bogus charges coming indefinitely.

Flotsam and Jetsam - Sunday in the Meme Mines

At Hat Hair, Steve Moore calls Dow 50,000: A Supply-Side Miracle. Roger Kimball at The Spec notes Trumponomics is working. Daniel Baldwin @baldwin_daniel_, "On days like today, I like calling back to this headline from June 2024: "Trump would make America’s inflation crisis worse, 16 Nobel economists warn" CPI is at 2.4% YoY in January as gasoline declined 7.5%. The "Nobel economists" were dead wrong." Funny that a working businessman understands the economy better than a bunch of college professors. The I&I ed board thinks the Latest Jobs Report Explains Why Dems Hate Trump So Much. "In January, the economy added 172,000 private sector jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which was better than economists had expected (which seems to be a running theme in the Trump administration). And the unemployment rate ticked down to 4.3%. So, what’s the bad news for Democrats? The number of federal government jobs shrank by 32,000. Worse still, this is on top of a string of monthly government job losses since President Donald Trump took office."

On the Epstein files, John Sexton at Hat Hair Ro Khanna Faceplants Again. Rep. Ro Khanna @RepRoKhanna, "@RepThomasMassie and I forced last night the DOJ to disclose the identities of 6 men: Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikeladze, Leonic Leonov, Nicola Caputo, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, and billionaire businessman Leslie Wexner. I share details of what more we learned to hold the Epstein class accountable." Then Rep. Ro Khanna @RepRoKhanna, "I appreciate JSweetLI’s reporting confirming today that Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikeladze, Leonid Leonov, and Nicola Caputo were just part of a photo line up and are not connected to Epstein's crimes. I wish DOJ had provided that explanation earlier instead of redacting then unredacting their names. They have failed to protect survivors, created confusion for innocent men, and have protected rich and powerful abusers. We must have full transparency and the truth. Joe Chalfant at TownHall hears DOJ Officials Claim Thomas Massie Just Made an Unbelievable Error. Sundance at CTH, Thomas Massie Accuses Four Random, Innocent Men of Being Pedophiles and Sex Traffickers, Because Their Names Appeared in Epstein Files. Bonchie @bonchieredstate "On the one hand, you have four random guys who had nothing to do with Epstein. On the other hand, you have your billionaire donor, Reid Hoffman, who visited Epstein's island and ranch and was working to help him as late as 2018. Really weird that you never mention the latter." Quote Rep. Ro Khanna @RepRoKhanna Replying to @RepRoKhanna, "I appreciate @JSweetLI’s reporting confirming today that Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikeladze, Leonid Leonov, and Nicola Caputo were just part of a photo line up and are not connected to Epstein's crimes." At Breitbart, Media Actively Cover Up Obama Lawyer’s Chummy Ties to Epstein.

Joe Chalfant again, GOP Secures Votes Needed to Pass the SAVE Act. "Senate Republicans have secured the needed votes to pass the SAVE Act after Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) confirmed that she would sign on as a co-sponsor of the bill late Friday afternoon." Eric Daugherty @EricLDaugh, "BREAKING: SEN. SUSAN COLLINS (R-ME) is a YEA on the SAVE America Act, a HUGE victory! We are now at 50 GUARANTEED VOTES — with JD Vance, that's enough to PASS it after a talking filibuster! Collins was previously unsure. THIS IS MASSIVE! Get it done, save the republic!" Nicki Minaj @NICKIMINAJ, "Wow. This made me so happy. Barbz, update the hashtag with #SaveAmericaAct beginning now & going forward. I’ll do a poll for you guys to choose if you’d like a new look or a new Spaces tonight." Quote Officer Lew @officer_Lew "BREAKING Alaska's Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), the 49th Senator, has just thrown his full support behind the SAVE America Act! Huge win for election integrity—proof of citizenship to register & secure our votes. Momentum is building fast!" DC_Draino @DC_Draino, "I find it fascinating that 75% of Democrat voters want Voter ID laws, but 100% of Democrat elites are against it. The elites know the entire system is rigged, but Democrat voters actually think they’re winning these elections. Going to be a rude awakening when they realize only about 35% of the country aligns with their views, not 50%."

So "the government" is shut down again. Or rather, a rather small part of it, as Democrats will not agree to continues funding of DHS. Unfortunately, for Democrats, ICE will not be affected because it's funding was already included in the BBB. But it will affect the FEMA and TSA (another agency I'd like to see curtailed quite a bit, let the airlines bear the cost of screening. I'll bet they do it better.) A Hat Hair video, Democrats Shutdown The Government For Political Sideshow.

At Am Think J Bob Smith thinks about The Blue States’ Doom Loop "Annually and increasingly, tens of thousands of people are leaving blue states because of politics." Hat Hair's John Stossel looks at Fraud Nation. "Americans want to help people in need, but when government does that, about 500 billion taxpayer dollars get stolen. It's how the system is designed, says the United Council on Welfare Fraud's Andrew McClenahan in this new video. "You're measuring success by the amount of money you put out."" Stacey Matthews at LI, Alleged NYC Antisemitic Stabbing Suspect Out on Bail as Incidents Rise 182% Under Mamdani. “The most disturbing thing about this: It’s no longer a shock to read such a headline.” At least they got bail! At Shooting News Week, Virginia is What Happens When Gun Owners Lose Elections. Auron MacIntyre @AuronMacintyre, "Gentle reminder that after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, and the attempted assassination of ICE agents it was revealed that the Dem AG candidate in Virginia wanted to kill Republicans and their children The Dems continued to support him and he won the election No price was every paid and the news cycle just moved on, so the lesson is that political violence has zero cost. I 'm sure there won't be any consequences in the future for failing to punish the left." Althouse finds deep thinking, "... Clavicular said he would vote for Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, a Democrat, over Vice President JD Vance because he preferred Mr. Newsom’s looks to Mr. Vance’s. " ""'It wasn’t, like, a political statement at all,' Clavicular said later of his criticism of Mr. Vance. 'I was just saying he’s fat.'"

MD Kettle at Da Fed sees Unsealed Court Docs Show The FBI Probing Possible Election Crimes In Fulton County. Democrats: "Don't do that! We stole that election fair and square." Shipwreckedcrew @shipwreckedcrew, "The Bondi-led DOJ has obtained a wildly successful string of huge victories in the courts at the appellate and Supreme Court levels that have advanced the Trump Administration agenda across a broad range of issues that will be consequential for decades to come. If the Epstein hysteria was to evaporate tomorrow never to be heard about again, by far the biggest losses will be the revenue now being realized by all the online influencers who are relying on it for income." Quote reason @reason ""They've been utterly incompetent. Incompetent to the point that it almost seems like you'd have to be doing this on purpose to be this incompetent," says Massie on the DOJ's Epstein files release." Ryan Lovelace at Racket reports EXCLUSIVE: FBI Gathered Intel On 1,000 Journalists, Politicians, Religious Organizations On Flimsy Grounds 'The FBI can gather a dossier on anyone they choose.' I mean, who among us doesn't have a secret FBI dossier? It's a mark of importance!

John Sexton at Hat Hair reports Federal Agents Suspended Amid Claims They Lied to Investigators,. regarding the non-fatal shooting of a illegal alien sought by ICE in Minneapolis. “Video evidence has revealed that sworn testimony provided by two separate officers appears to have made untruthful statements,” Mr. Lyons said. “Both officers have been immediately placed on administrative leave pending the completion of a thorough internal investigation.” Not good.

Gerry Callahan @GerryCallahan, "This is perfect. ICE agent: “If you cared, you would care about the child who got raped and the person who got murdered by the guy we’re looking for. “ Awful, ugly white lady: “I don’t care.” The entire insane national debate encapsulated in 20 sec." Hat Hair's Beege Welborn explores the Annals of AWFL Excess: If It's ICEy, Burn It Down MORE. At RedState Nick Arama wants you to Watch: Viral Video of Woman's Off the Rails Remarks to Deputy - Best Part Was the Sheriff's Response. Twitchy has CBS Austin: Teen Says She Was Threatened With a Taser During Anti-ICE Walkout. Maybe she deserved it? Tim Young @TimRunsHisMouth, "Here’s the video of Greenlee getting in the face of cops and making contact with them… You conveniently left that out of your reporting. It took me 90 seconds to find it…. You’re intentionally trying to make her look like a victim when she isn’t." At BA Tom Knighton finds a Portland Anti-ICE Activist who Illustrates a Fantastic Way to Get Shot.

juicystar1908 @juicystar1908, "If you are an H-1B landlord in Maricopa County, you should pack your bags and look at one-way flights to go home. I have read every single classified ad on http://azindia.com to find a deportable individual who listed a rental property. I found over 50 landlords and over 60 addresses in Maricopa County alone. I would love to praise the work of @MCAssessor and @AssessorEddie for building a very user-friendly website that makes it easy to find property ownership information. The information was sent to the fraud team of the State Department on 02/09/2026." Quote Tyler Bowyer @tylerbowyer "There are approximately 5 counties that could send America into Despotism for a generation. Maricopa County is one of them. . . . "

TownHall's Kurt Schlichter insists It Is Right and Proper to Laugh at the Suffering of Journalists. Althouse Trump sought to influence Bill Maher and he's now going to complain that he didn't get as much favorable press/comedy as he thinks — or pretends to think — he deserves. ""Sometimes in life you waste time! T.V. Host Bill Maher asked to have dinner with me through one of his friends, also a friend of mine, and I agreed," said Trump (at Truth Social). . . . Trump seems to enjoy diminishing Maher, but I suspect Maher adopted this "little me" pose to disarm Trump. Obviously, Maher was bullshitting. There's no one who has never been scared. It's a joke. He's a comedian. And so is Trump."

From Campus Reform, White student sues after Albany Law School protects professor who allegedly went on racist rant. "Rowland Rupp, a student at Albany Law School, has filed a lawsuit after he says Anthony Farley, a black professor, shut off the classroom’s recording equipment and went on a tirade in class aimed at whites and conservatives. The lawsuit alleges that the school did not investigate Rupp’s complaint, but rather aggressively pursued a retaliatory complaint filed by the professor."
