We found 43 teeth shark's teeth today, a couple of drum's teeth, a questionable porpoise tooth, and the usual crab claws and Tilly bones. A pretty good day, but nothing spectacular.
So, the next question, is is safe to swim? The bay news today sent me to a DNR site where you can Check the Status of Your Favorite Beaches, where you can find a zoomable map which shows conditions around the state:
You can zoom in and see that water sample is taken right on our beach near Flag Harbor. Curiously, as I was getting into the parking lot, the woman who takes the water samples for the state was donning her waders to go out and take the sample.
So apparently, it is safe to swim here, except for the near certainty encountering Sea Nettles.
