After mowing the lawn (mostly to chase the fallen leaves to the edges), I checked the Butterfly Bush, and found this Painted Lady. . .
And this Common Buckeye (who was a remarkably docile poser)
It's getting late in the year for butterflies. We still see an occasional Monarch float by or stop at the bush, Cabbage Whites are still out an about, and Georgia claims to have seen a black Swallowtail of some sort.
