Spring's First Butterfly!

The first butterfly looks to be some kind of Hairstreak, but it was pretty far away so even with my best zoom, pixilization and motion blur made it a dicey shot.  I've actually seen a couple of butterflies flitting about, but not been able to get pictures.  One may have been a Mourning Cloak (Camberwell Beauty).

So the story, such as it is.  Skye and I did get a walk on the beach at home today, while Georgia waited in vain at home for Fedex or UPS or whoever to deliver something she wanted badly enough to get today.  The beach was great.  Temperature was up into the 70s (supposed to 80s in Washington D.C. Urban Heat Island).  The first day since fall that I have not needed a jacket.  14 sharks teeth, none of them worthy of a photo.

The red headed bird is, of course, our local Pileated Woodpecker, who checked a few stumps and fallen logs for grubs before moving on.

The flower is one of Georgia's Ranunculus.

And the final bird is, of course, a crow.  But which one?
