It started cold this morning, 39, but sunny and warmed quickly. After lunch we decide the time was right for a walk on the beach, and by then the temperature was 65! The wind was 10-15 SW, which produces no waves on our beach, and there were a fair number of people taking advantage of the weather.
The tide was middling low, and the tooth hunting was decent. We found 17 in all, and a Drum's tooth and a couple of crab claws. Georgia found this pretty good lower jaw Mako Shark tooth.
The work on the new revetment at Calvert Beach is well along but not done. The toe section of the left appear to be complete, but more needs to be done on top. On the right, a jumbled pile of stone awaits placing.
A female (or juvenile) Horned Greeb in the harbor. Note the red eyes, and the water beaded on it's back from diving. Click to enlarge.
