I spotted the first butterflies of the year in our garden yesterday. Actually, Georgia caught a glimpse of the Spring Azures doing their mating dance out in the back yard:
A really remarkable photo, I caught this female Azure in flight with her wings fully out stretched, brilliant light blue, with black borders. You can even see its shadow beneath.
This one stopped for a sip at the Pachisandra (a ground cover I heartily support).
I also saw a Henry's Elfin chase them out of the Hemlock tree a few times, but couldn't get shot with a camera. So from previously:
