But the firm filed a bankruptcy petition Tuesday in Delaware, shedding more than 900 full-time employees and leaving just a “core group” of 113 employees, according to bankruptcy records.
FBI spokesman Peter D. Lee said multiple search warrants were served at the company’s Fremont headquarters in what he called a joint investigation by the FBI and the Energy Department’s office of inspector general. But he said he could not provide any details about the ongoing probe.
The Obama administration's relationship with the company has come under scrutiny since the bankruptcy was abruptly announced last week. The Daily Caller reported that between March 12, 2009, and April 14, 2011, "Solyndra officials and investors made no fewer than 20 trips to the West Wing."Will this be Obama's ENRON? Solyndra left 1,100 workers jobless when it filed for Chapter 11 protection last week.
Green energy is unicorn milk. If a product is valuable, it can and will be made without government subsidies. Without sufficient demand, government cannot force a products acceptance. How many Susan B. Anthony dollars are in your pocket today?
