President Obama: 'If You Like Your Climate, You Can Keep it, Period'

President Obama issued an executive order Friday directing a government-wide effort to boost preparation in states and local communities for the impact of global warming.

The action orders federal agencies to work with states to build “resilience” against major storms and other weather extremes. For example, the president’s order directs that infrastructure projects like bridges and flood control take into consideration climate conditions of the future, which might require building structures larger or stronger — and likely at a higher price tag.
Of course, he needs another excuse to extract tribute from the people who make money, produce jobs and all the good things that our civilization has to offer.
“The impacts of climate change — including an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures, more heavy downpours, an increase in wildfires, more severe droughts, permafrost thawing, ocean acidification and sea-level rise — are already affecting communities, natural resources, ecosystems, economies and public health across the nation,” the presidential order said. “The federal government must build on recent progress and pursue new strategies to improve the nation’s preparedness and resilience.”
Never mind that the earth's climate has not warmed in going on 17 years now, that sea level rise continues no faster than the same rate it has been for at least the last 100 years, and that even the IPCC has given up on the shibboleth that there are now more extreme weather events (hurricanes, tropical storms, tornadoes, droughts etc) than there have been in the past because of 'climate change.'

Though, through much experimentation I've been able to determine that presenting these facts to liberals doesn't change their mind, it simply seems to irritate them.  That's why it's so fun.

And no, you can't keep your climate, no matter what the government says or does.  The earth's climate has always been in a state of flux, and nothing, no even an expensive government program directed by the smart people with the best of intentions, will stop it from changing.

Sorry to tell you, Mat, Obama will, at best, attend a short meeting or two, have his peeps sound out a few directives, and then this whole thing will be relegated to the dustbin of Obama pivots. He won’t be involved. He won’t get briefings. If he can barely take an interest in his signature legislation, Obamacare, what makes you think this is more than a passing fancy, part of which is meant to get the leftist base excited?
That's an optimistic viewpoint; almost too good to be true.
