Today was clear, windy and chilly. It was only about 40 F when we left the house, and wind was blowing a brisk 20 or so, northeast, so it was coming onshore. When we arrived, a Coast Guard cutter was steaming past, well out beyond the green buoy that marks the edge of the channel
Storms have returned a lot of woody trash back to the beach, and not a little plastic. Our trees are about as colorful now as they will get, the Poplars Sweet Gums and Dogwoods will loose their leaves soon, and only the duller oaks which are well behind will be left.
So what's that white speck up in the sky down past the cottages?
Skye and Georgia stopped to greet some friends.
The white speck was a hang glider. I guess the wind bucking up against the cliff produces a nice wave for them to ride. There were two.
We didn't see any eagles today; maybe they were cowed by the thought of a bigger predator. I did see a few Black Vultures soaring in the same general area,
