A bill sponsored by Delegate Wendell Beitzel that would have stopped the raiding of funds designated to Chesapeake Bay cleanup for other purposes has died in committee. What a quaint thought...
The House of Delegates Appropriations Committee re-cently voted 12-8, with one member excused and one absent, to give the bill an unfavorable recommendation.
“I believe that if the state is to ask the citizens to pay a fee for a dedicated purpose, then that money should be spent on that purpose alone,” Beitzel wrote in his most recent newsletter.
One day you wash up on the beach, wet and naked. Another day you wash back out. In between, the scenery changes constantly.
