Dave Catanese argues that low Presidential popularity isn't Joe fault. It's us. The Permanent Unpopularity of the American President, "A president struggling around 40% isn't a Biden problem. It's the new normal." Some truth here, but if we had better Presidents... At Town Hall, Kurt Schlichter is just enjoying the moment, Dems Feel the Agony of Defeat – and It's Awesome. At WSJ, (cited sparingly at Haut Hair) Karl Rove admires Biden's six-misstep midterm strategy. AllahPundit at Haut Hait catches wind that It's happening: DeSantis planning private fundraiser with GOP mega-donors in Utah "None of that means he’s definitely running for president, of course. But he’s doing everything a candidate would be doing right now to make sure the option of running competitively is available to him next year in case he decides to pull the trigger."
AllahPundit is also mildly concerned that Dems surge on generic ballot following end of Roe: Hmmm, "Nothing to panic about here, but worth watching." At PJ Media, Stephen Kruiser thinks Clueless Democrats Are in Full 'Let Them Eat Cake' Mode Now. Mmmm, cake! David Harsanyi at Da Fed says It’s Not ‘Minority Rule,’ It’s The Point.
As many people have already pointed out, the first American census in 1790 found that Virginia, then the most populous state, was home to around 20 percent of the population. Today, California, our largest state, makes up around 12 percent of the nation’s population. No one complained about the disparity of the Senate in 1790 — or, as far as I know, 1890 or 1990, for that matter — because the “imbalance” was literally codified in the founding document (which, incidentally, mentions “democracy” zero times).
