From Dave Strom at Hat Hair, Oregon Relied on Illegal Alien Sex Offender for 'Behavioral Health' Advice

Who better to advise the Oregon state government on policy areas such as behavioral health, “health equity,” and healthcare for all than a Venezuelan illegal immigrant sex offender?

I can think of a few people, but apparently, Oregon state government officials couldn't, so they invited Juan Pablo Villalobos Garcia to sit on several advisory committees to help set state policy in these areas:

An illegal immigrant convicted of sex crimes in Oregon, a sanctuary state for unlawful immigration, held various advisory positions on state policymaking committees as a so-called “Latinx” community leader.

Juan Pablo Villalobos Garcia, a criminally convicted Venezuelan national who had overstayed his visa, according to U.S. immigration authorities, served in several committee roles advising the state of Oregon on policy areas such as behavioral health, “health equity,” and healthcare for all, regardless of immigration status.

Before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security nabbed Garcia, a Portland-area activist and “educator,” he was on Oregon’s Community Engagement and Communications Committee to the Universal Health Plan Governance Board, which is tasked with creating a comprehensive plan for financing and administering a single-payer healthcare system that covers all Oregonians, no matter their immigration status.

Garcia’s committee is responsible for developing community outreach recommendations and informational material, as part of the universal health plan that the board will present to Gov. Tina Kotek (D-OR) and the Oregon legislature.

The board looks to committee members for “expertise and lived experience.” Committee members are recruited by the governor-appointed board and are supposed to embody “equitable representation from every region and population around the state.”

On the Oregon government website, the board’s community engagement committee describes Garcia as the executive director of LatinX Recovery Center, who is “currently in recovery from substance abuse with a criminal justice history.”

Over video conference, Garcia attended the committee’s monthly meetings as recently as Sept. 24 and would offer insight in Spanish.

Garcia, whose record reportedly includes sexual abuse and bestiality, was also an active member of the Behavioral Health Crisis System Advisory Committee, which advises the Oregon Health Authority, the state’s health department, on overseeing the statewide crisis response system.

I mean, who wouldn't want a sex criminal, drug abusing, bestiality advocate illegal alien helping set  health care policy?

We thought we had turned the corner on crazy with the election and inauguration of President Donald Trump. We thought that Gender Ideology was O-V-E-R. We were ever so wrong. The state of Oregon which, apparently, has a breeding program for crazy has doubled down. An entity named JD Holt, who uses the pronouns “they/them/terrapin” has been appointed to an Oregon Mental Health Advisory Board.

In the past, humans with mental illnesses have been treated abominably, true fact. But closing the facilities and releasing the patients to the streets has not made anyone’s mental health better or the world safer. JD Holt, who also goes by JD Terrapin, is proof of that. It’s important to have people who have had mental health challenges on advisory boards, but not people in the midst of a delusion.

How did the mentally ill turtle person get appointed to the board? The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has a panel to advise on the best practices. From Fox News:

JD Holt, who also goes by “JD Terrapin” on Facebook, is one of roughly two dozen “consumers” on the OHA’s Consumer Advisory Council (OCAC). The council, established by administrative statute, is appointed by OHA Director Dr. Sejal Hathi, who was appointed by Gov. Tina Kotek, a Democrat.

The purpose of the OCAC is to advise Hathi on the state’s provision of mental health services, including through investigations and reviews of current practices.

Yup, she sure did list her pronouns as they, them and turtle. Notice how proud they seem of their issues. A whole “buffet table”. People shouldn’t be embarrassed. On the other hand, mental issues shouldn’t be a badge of honor.

Gender Wiki, a website that documents the list of non-binary genders, describes “turtlegender,” sometimes called “tortoisegender,” as “a xenogender identity in which one feels a gendered connection to turtles.”

“One may feel their gender is replaced by a ‘turtle,’ or their gender is best described with the use of turtles,” the site reads.

From the Springfield-Eugene area? That figures. Well, she should know a lot about mental illness, from the inside.

Center Square MD, Feb 27, 2025, Maryland House backs bill to allow contraceptives in school vending machines

The House of Delegates voted 89-41 this month to approve HB 380, a bill that changes a decades-old state law that made these types of sales in schools a misdemeanor offense.

Under the current law, anyone who offers contraceptives via a vending machine at a school would be fined $1,000 per violation.

Del. Nicole Williams, D-Prince George's County, introduced the bill to eliminate the $1,000 penalty and allow schools to install vending machines that dispense contraceptives on campuses from elementary to high schools.

The Senate JPR Committee killed a bill that would allow condoms and other birth control contraceptives to be sold in vending machines in Maryland public schools.

Baltimore City Schools are in bad shape. Earlier this year, Fox 5 Baltimore reported that "Results from the 2024 state test show nearly a third of all Maryland students who took the math exam last year scored in the lowest level of proficiency" and only 2% scored in the highest level of proficiency. Eight of the city's high schools had zero students who were proficient in math at all. Even worse, this is considered a "slight improvement" over last year's numbers. In 2023, zero students in 13 Baltimore high schools tested proficient in math.

While the tutoring might be beneficial, I can't help but think that it's the educational equivalent of treating the symptoms, not the cause. Perhaps the school district could dive a little deeper. Maybe, just maybe, it could focus on teaching math and other essential skills to its elementary school students rather than focusing on topics like gender identity, gay pride, and sexual confusion.

Spotlight on Maryland, which calls itself an "investigative project" of Fox 5 Baltimore and the Baltimore Sun filed a public records request to gain access to the school district's sex education program. What they discovered was pretty disgusting, especially when you realize they're teaching it to children as young as six years old.

According to investigative reporter Patrick Hauf, Baltimore City Schools are teaching first graders about "their private parts and reproductive systems, showing cartoon photos and videos." Hauf also says that teachers must use gender neutral language. Instead of saying "male reproductive system" and "female reproductive system," they're instructed to say "reproductive system one" and "reproductive system two." Hauf says by third grade, students learn about the "importance" of the LGBTetc. flag, and children in fourth grade watch videos about how it's okay to "feel sexually confused," complete with the song "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry.

Fox 5 Baltimore posted a copy of the curriculum online, and some of the language within is mind-blowing. For example, in a less called "Pink, Blue and Purple," an exercise for first graders involves teachers asking them how they know what gender they are and explaining that this is their gender identify. After that, it suggests teachers tell students the following:

Gender identity is that feeling of knowing your gender. You might feel like you are a boy, you might feel like you are a girl. You might feel like you’re a boy even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘girl’ parts. You might feel like you’re a girl even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘boy’ parts. And you might not feel like you’re a boy or a girl, but you’re a little bit of both. No matter how you feel, you’re perfectly normal!

I don't have children, but if I did, I wouldn't want some stranger telling my six-year-old how to think about their "parts." It's worth noting that parents can opt out of the so-called sex education program, but I can't understand why the schools even offer it in the first place. Why do children who haven't even come close to hitting puberty need to learn anything at all about sex?

The good news is, that if history is any guide, the children of Baltimore won't learn this either.

At JTN, Greg Piper reports Wealthy Washington D.C. suburb's no-exception LGBTQ curriculum faces headwinds at Supreme Court, "Major religious groups, half the states and top legal scholars of religious liberty unite against Maryland's Montgomery County Public Schools, which refuses to notify parents when "Pride storybooks" are taught or let young kids opt out."

Friend-of-the-court briefs deluged the Supreme Court last week asking it to resolve a circuit split on parental rights in public education worsened by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that Maryland's Montgomery County Public Schools does not burden parents' free exercise of religion by not notifying them of LGBTQ curricula or allow opt-outs.

"This outpouring of diverse support shows that parents, not the government, should have the final say on how their kids are introduced to complex topics of gender and sexuality," senior counsel Eric Baxter of religious liberty law firm Becket, which filed the SCOTUS petition last month on behalf of Muslim, Catholic and Orthodox parents, wrote in an X thread on the briefs.

The wealthy suburb of Washington, D.C., exposed children as young as 3 to "Pride storybooks" with sex workers, kink, drag, gender transitions and elementary-age same-sex romance, provoking fierce opposition from parents. The Council on American-Islamic Relations took a leading role organizing opposition and protests, in a rare break with Democrats and the ACLU.

Public records requests and litigation revealed that the purported concern behind the district's sudden decision a year and half ago to stop notification and opt-outs – logistical difficulty – was not reflected in internal communications, which instead trained teachers how to challenge students' beliefs and counter parental objections.

Another group of MCPS parents filed a brief saying the district has denied their opt-out requests, leaving their children at risk of instruction on "LGBTQ+ issues in what they believe is an inappropriate manner considering their children’s ages, personalities, and circumstances."

Most of the parents also believe the district's purpose is to "normalize and valorize alternative sexual behavior" in violation of their religious beliefs, they said.

So far, no sign of this in Calvert County. But then, Gabby is only in pre-K.

Jazz Shaw at Hat Hair,  Maryland Bravely Leads the Fight to Keep Porn in Public School Libraries

As with many other parts of the country, several counties in Maryland have recently seen parents pushing back against inappropriate sexual content in school libraries and getting some books removed from the shelves. The books primarily deal with either transgender ideology or more adult sexual content of any nature. But the Democrats in the state legislature want to put an end to that. They are currently working to jam through a new bill that is cleverly called the "Freedom to Read Act." They claim to be working to ensure a consistent statewide standard for library content, but the underlying goal seems obvious. They are unhappy with the success the parents have achieved and they want those books placed back on the shelves. The main battlegrounds for this battle appear to be Carroll and Howard counties, both located in more rural areas to the North and West of Baltimore.  

A rise in challenges to books in Maryland’s schools and public libraries — including dozens recently in Carroll County schools — has put the state on a path to becoming one of the few with guardrails on book bans.

The Freedom to Read Act, which Democrats in the Maryland General Assembly are gunning to pass in the legislative session’s final weeks, would set a statewide standard for some content in libraries for the first time. Although books found to contain sexual content could still be pulled from shelves under the bill, the act has infuriated some opponents. They argue it would tie the hands of local government and school officials to eliminate materials they find unsuitable for children.

Proponents of the legislation say the standards it would set are critical at a time when parents and activists in places like Carroll and Howard counties have challenged books that primarily target stories of LGBTQ youth or that deal with race.

The Carroll County School Board is currently in the midst of reviewing 58 books that the superintendent ordered removed from the shelves because of explicit content. The protesting parents were organized by the local chapter of Moms for Liberty, and they've seen some success in pushing for these changes. Nine books have been removed thus far during the review, with some others either being limited to high school libraries or requiring parental consent forms to take them out from the library. That might change if this new legislation is passed, however.

So what sort of books are being removed in Carroll County? Some of them seem a bit dubious to be on the list, such as “Slaughterhouse Five” by Kurt Vonnegut. That one will be retained in high school libraries, but not elementary or middle schools. That's a fairly dense and intense book for younger children to tackle, I'll admit, but I wouldn't lump it in with pornography. Others are more obvious. Those include "Doing It! Let's Talk About Sex" by Hannah Wilton. She's the same author who goes on social media to offer free tips for finding affordable sex toys and poses with some of her own. Another is “Red Hood,” by Elana Arnold. It's described in one review as "a very loose retelling of Little Red Riding Hood driven by female empowerment and sisterhood." It's also called out for being "very bloody" and overtly sexualized.

 

One of the first to fall was “Gender Queer" by Maia Kobabe. That book has been removed from more schools around the country than almost any other. It's true that the book is presented in cartoon format, but it includes graphically explicit drawings, including one showing a young boy performing oral sex on another young boy. How on Earth did anyone ever find that to be appropriate for school children, particularly in elementary school? I don't care whether it's a boy doing it to another boy or a girl with a boy. It should be up to parents to decide when their children learn about the birds and the bees.

At least make kids work to find their porn.
